Coalition of The South Pacific From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On 16 February 2014 #spiritus was honoured with a visit from Escade, the Delegate of the South Pacific. The visit was unannounced, but Vice Delegate and Ambassador to Spiritus Kris Kringle was there to welcome Escade. Our Delegate greeted all Spiritans present and engaged in conversation with them. It was an exciting moment for all of us, and I know for a fact that she had a wonderful experience. Escade sends her regards to Spiritus, and hopes our regions can grow closer in the near future.
For those of you that weren't there, or if you were there and want to remember the event, here are the logs (most emoticons have been eliminated):

Coalition of The South Pacific From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Cabinet of the South Pacific has issued today a statement officially recognising the Osiris Fraternal Order and hoping that eventually close relations will follow. Since the dissolution of the Kemetic Republic relations between Osiris and the South Pacific had been officially non-existent, although the Cabinet had been constantly evaluating the situation in Osiris.
Lately there had been conversations between Osirian and South Pacific officials about an resuming diplomatic relations, and in addition the New Southern Army had been cooperating with the Sekhmet Legion in several missions. This was mentioned in the Cabinet's statement, and we hope that the relationship between the South Pacific and Osiris will eventually be as strong as it once was.

Coalition of The South Pacific From the Office of the Vice Delegate
Quite a lot has happened recently in the South Pacific. Something worthy of mention is the dissolution of the ambassador corps by Foreign Minister Glen-Rhodes, with plans of a more effective and cost-effective foreign service. We have full confidence that this will be a positive change for our region.
A more important event however is the recent move we had. Due to a dispute involving how Hileville ran the administrative team, our previous forum was taken down and we had to look for a new one. The South Pacific now has a myBB forum with Tsunamy, Glen-Rhodes and Kringalia as administrators.
We encourage you check out our new forum and register!

Wow, it's been a while since I regularly posted here. Does it sound good if I keep doing that?

I think I've earned the right to be self-centred with this particular update. I promise next one will be about actual TSP news.
Coalition of the South Pacific From the Office of the Delegate
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice Delegate Kris Kringle was elected Delegate in a tight race against former Vice Delegate and incumbent Craziest Person Rebeltopia. Kringle's race focused on continuing the work of Escade, this time his running mate, and building a more inclusive and active community in the South Pacific. Rebeltopia ran with Arbiter08 on a platform based on their experience in government and their capacity to reduce the level of drama and infighting in the Assembly.
This time Kringle and Escade replaced their Friendship and Cooperation motto with Community and Strength. Following the official announcement of the results, several nations withdrew their endorsements on Escade and endorsed Kringalia, ensuring a fast delegacy transition at the next mejor update. Their campaign platform can be found below:
Platform KRINGALIA & ESCADE Community and Strength
Hi! I’m current Vice Delegate Kringalia and I’m here because I want the honour of serving as your Delegate. I’m very excited and eager to do this, especially since I have my very good friend Escade running as my Vice Delegate.
We have been working together ever since we both first got involved in regional governance and we work well as a team. We both highly value this community and the wonderful people that we’ve met along the way. You are the reason why we are here and why we are so interested in helping the South Pacific grow and blossom as a region.
We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue doing our best to make the South Pacific a warm, inviting and active region, and for that we have thought of the following:
COMMUNITY
This term we’ve seen our RMB burst with activity and our forum vibrant with posts in many different areas, both political and fun. We’ve used the poll system and themed WFE to create excitement and activity and will continue trying new creative ways to keep TSPers coming back for more. We have also worked hard to promote role plays, games, and discussions and are happy to see people getting engaged in our lovely community.
We plan to go through with the South Pacific Interregional Games and to organize more cultural festivals with our allies, we want to work on Market Street and develop housing districts, keep making Resident Spotlights to highlight all the interesting and delightful members of our community, share advice, focus on how to showcase our talents and interest, and as always the pursuit of friendships.
STRENGTH
Our foreign and security policy has evolved over time. We continue to emphasize pursuing closer and stronger relations with our current allies as well as beefing up our internal security to prevent any instability.
During this term we held confidence building meetings with TNI and talked about organizing more joint missions. We held cultural festivals with Europeia and Kantrias, and signed a treaty with the latter. We began repairing relations with Osiris, one of our former allies. We want to keep having contact with all these regions, and to deepen our alliances with them.
We will also continue to create links with other regions, to broaden the scope of our current relationships. Friendly discourse between regions is a must. It may not always be the easiest option, but friendship and cooperation leads to improvement not just within our region, but also with our relations with the wider world of NationStates.
Part of building a successful community is trusting people by giving them the opportunities to contribute their ideas and strength to the community, and we have done this by doubling the size of the Committee for State Security, and we encouraged more nations to apply for adviser and deputy jobs. This lets the TSPers know that the opportunities are there for them to be part of the change they want to see in the region.
We see the South Pacific as an exemplary community where great people have gathered to give their very best. This is a community where everyone can feel safe and find their place. That is what makes this region truly the best in NationStates, and one that Escade and I want to help improve even more.
We welcome your questions and feedback, and appreciate your support.
Peace and love,
Kris and Escade
