Year 77 ABY

A Galaxy United

Tensions rise as the GALACTIC ALLIANCE and UNION OF JEDI PROTECTED WORLDS attempt to agree on a ceasefire. Brief skirmishes continue to dot the Galaxy between the two, which further delay any form of negotiation. The GALATIC ALLIANCE's joint project with the supposedly neutral KOL'KAAR FOUNDATION has also set the UJPW on edge. In response, the UPJW has tasked their own engineers with matching the GA's new ship, the Matador Dreadnaught.

The NEW SITH EMPIRE, seeking to avoid over extention of its new borders, have entered a state of military build up. Which has done little to set the other factions on its borders at ease. The UJPW continue to plead for the release of OSSUS, the burial world of LUKE SKYWALKER. So far, any attempt of diplomacy have been struck down. Meanwhile, the Sith prepare for the third DARK CONCLAVE, to discuss the future of the Empire, and the vision of a vague and imminent danger.

Deep in the Wild Space and Unknown Regions, a new enemy bides its time. War looms on the shadows, and if the Union, Alliance, and Empire can't put their differences aside and unite, then they may find themselves consumed by the Black Dragon that plagues the dreams of Jedi and Sith alike. The Year is 77 ABY… The Galaxy is more divided than ever. As the factions of the galaxy move closer to the brink of war shadows of far more sinister threats loom on the horizon. What side will you chose? Where will you stand? Will Galactic civilization endure? Only in a Galaxy United.

MONTH 1 / DAY 5 / 77 ABY
BOTHAWUI – VICE DISTRICT
JACK KYTERUNNER

Jack stepped out of his daily sanisteam. He'd been trying to get to some semblance of self-satisfaction over his cleanliness after being attacked by a dantoonian maw-slug just three days prior. He rolled his shoulders as he reached for a t-shirt. He still hadn't completely dried so he let the shirt hang in his hands as he stood, bare, in the cabin. His arms were raw from having to heave that log. He could use a bit of pampering for once.

Taking a look around the galley of "The Way Out" he, for the millionth time, recounted every nut and bolt that he had adjusted, tightened, welded, installed and modified on the ship, all to get it just to his specifications. It was a newer model Correllian freighter, but they all had a reputation for modability and ease of use. On top of that, it made a damn good smuggling ship.

He had a particular cargo ready for him tonight, and apparently he was going to be meeting with a Vice League member for the trade off. They'd be coming straight to "The Way Out" this evening and he wanted to be ready. He threw on his favorite loose fitting white shirt and bound himself up in his pilots jacket. A pair of blue jeans and boots later and he had just to attach his blaster to his hip.

He glanced at the small white box on the table next to his kitchen, not wondering at all what was inside, it wasn't his business.

A buzzer rang, indicating that someone was outside on the boarding ramp.

Yasmine shifted her weight from right to left, brushing a bit of hair out of her face with a twinge of agitation behind her movement. She hated picking up parcels, especially when she had to get them on the deliverer's ship. Why couldn't they have chosen a lovely little rendezvous point somewhere neutral? she thought to herself, frowning at the large door in front of her.

She raised a hand to the door and gave a loud knock, hoping her impatience would speed things along. Yasmine didn't want to be seen standing outside this ship, just in case there was someone unfriendly watching her movements. She didn't want any ties linking her back to "The Way Out" if she could avoid it.

"Is anyone home?! Hellooo?" the young woman yelled, giving her bangs another flustered toss and fixing her white blouse with her other hand. She tapped her foot lightly and checked her datapad for the time. She didn't know who she was meeting, just that they were to meet here and she was supposed to bring a package back to Kol'Kaar headquarters from this ship. As a simple foot-soldier for the organization, she was often kept in the dark about what was really going on behind the CEO's closed doors. This time would be no different.

The ship's airlock opened with a loud hiss as Jack strode through it. He still had a towel on his head as he made his way. Typical, they were early, and impatient. This was just what he needed to set his day off the wrong way. Who banged on an airlock door? After giving his damp hair one last rub he glanced up, and froze. It took a moment to process that he was in the presence of a drop dead gorgeous woman. He let the towel fall from his head onto his shoulders and slowly wrapped his fingers around each end.

Smiling to himself he raised an eyebrow.

"Welcome, you must be here for the package?" He said, letting the double entendre hang in the air before nodding back into the ship. "This way. Name's Captain Kyterunner by the way."

He turned and casually walked back the way he had come. Inside, on the other hand, he wanted to kick himself. Of course they'd send a woman, it was just like the Kol'kaar to do something that would unnerve him. He hated that about the Foundation and its Vice League.

Yasmine raised a brow as Jack opened the door, then moved swiftly inside with her head raised in the air. "Dorian," she replied curtly. She hadn't known that he was the captain of this... wonderful vessel. "Is this where you find yourself now? I hadn't known I'd be seeing you of all people here," she muttered. She didn't know him personally, but the Foundation was never one to send her on these sorts of assignments without a little bit of knowledge of who she was to meet. "When did you start working for the Foundation?"

As she boarded "The Way Out" she took a quick look around to gather her surroundings, taking note of any doorways and where they may lead. She glanced back at Jack after a moment, stopping in her place and putting a hand on her hip. "You seem unprepared for this meeting. Am I early?" she asked casually, motioning to the towel around his shoulders. "I can give you a bit of time if you need it. I'm not due back for a while anyway," she paused and gave another glance around the room to further study her environment.

He hated his first name. Mouthing it quietly he scrunched up his face a bit in indignation as he pointed at himself. He mouthed it again as she looked around his vessel in obvious disdain. He was proud of the ship, rough and tumble as it may look it was a reliable gal and it'd last him till the day he died. Which he hoped wouldn't be for a very, very long time. He crossed his arms as she opened up her line of questioning. It wasn't like a Foundation Agent to take interest in him. Though he felt like he'd seen her face before.

"Been a few years. The Vice League gives good pay for smuggling this and that." he said, just as she pointed out how 'unprepared' he was.

He pointed at himself. "Me? Unprepared? Hah!" He bluffed, this chick was getting under his skin, and not in the fun way.

"No-No you're right on time, perfect even." He said dismissively and gestured to a pot of steaming caff on his counter. "Just finished brewing... see?"

"You didn't happen to peek at whats inside my parcel did you, Dorian?" she asked with a wry smile, moving towards the pot on the counter and reaching for it. She searched through one of his cabinets to find a mug, then proceeded to pour herself a cup of the steaming liquid. "I've been dying for a good cup of this stuff for a while. Hard to find a decent place around here that makes quality caff."

She sat down and propped one of her boots on the corner of the table and inhaled deeply. "Truly, this is relaxing. Knew I could count on you to provide, Captain," she said, mockingly yet truthful at the same time. "When you're not smuggling for the Vice League, what are you transporting? Surely this isn't your full-time job..."

He frowned slightly as she took his favorite mug from the shelf. Trying not to seem too obvious about his displeasure he raised his hand to his mouth and moved to rub his chin. He turned to the right and stepped toward the shelf himself grabbing another mug. Pouring some for himself he sat down at the table and leaned back in his chair, staring at her for a moment.

"You know better than that, I never look at a package..." He said flatly.

Her next statements drew him out of his displeasure, he grinned.

"If I recall correctly now... I provided for you quite well a month back." He said flippantly, a wide grin on his face.

"I don't kiss and tell lady, I keep my private business and my Vice League business separate, if you don't mind."

Yasmine couldn't help but blush at his statement, smirking behind her mug. This one, she thought, was a handful, but she liked that about him. "A month.. Is that how long it's been?" she checked her data pad for a brief instant and then looked back up in his direction. "Lady? I'm hurt Jack, you don't remember my name," she sighed and looked away dramatically. "I suppose its to be expected though."

She shrugged her shoulders and put the mug down on the table. "Fine, keep your private business and League business separate. It's no skin off my nose if you keep your little secrets. I've got some of my own after all," she winked.

He raised his eyes to the celing for a moment in a feigned effort to recall a piece of information. "Yeah... I'd say it's been about a month, hard to forget a night like that." He said rather bluntly, taking a sip of his caff. He raised an eyebrow as she pouted at him. An unexpected avenue for flirtation, but he'd bite never the less. "I hadn't assumed we were on a first name basis, being professionals and all. Yasmine." He offered, taking another sip.

He grinned at her. "Everyone's got them, and for the right price, sometimes you can buy them."

It was good caff today, he'd have to hit up that vendor again.

"I just figured since this was a business visit and whatnot, we'd be okay to call each other by first name," she winked at him, then her eyes shot wide with a sudden realization. "Oh! You probably want me to pay you for bringing me that package don't you? I nearly forgot."

Yasmine ruffled through her pockets for a moment before pulling out a small envelope. She slid it across the table towards him, but kept her hand on it to lock it firmly in place. "I need to see the box first, just to make for absolute certain that it hasn't been tampered with... Protocol and whatnot, you understand, don't you Jack?"
