MONTH 1 / DAY 5 / 77 ABY BOTHAWUI – VICE DISTRICT JACK KYTERUNNER Jack stepped out of his daily sanisteam. He'd been trying to get to some semblance of self-satisfaction over his cleanliness after being attacked by a dantoonian maw-slug just three days prior. He rolled his shoulders as he reached for a t-shirt. He still hadn't completely dried so he let the shirt hang in his hands as he stood, bare, in the cabin. His arms were raw from having to heave that log. He could use a bit of pampering for once. Taking a look around the galley of "The Way Out" he, for the millionth time, recounted every nut and bolt that he had adjusted, tightened, welded, installed and modified on the ship, all to get it just to his specifications. It was a newer model Correllian freighter, but they all had a reputation for modability and ease of use. On top of that, it made a damn good smuggling ship. He had a particular cargo ready for him tonight, and apparently he was going to be meeting with a Vice League member for the trade off. They'd be coming straight to "The Way Out" this evening and he wanted to be ready. He threw on his favorite loose fitting white shirt and bound himself up in his pilots jacket. A pair of blue jeans and boots later and he had just to attach his blaster to his hip. He glanced at the small white box on the table next to his kitchen, not wondering at all what was inside, it wasn't his business. A buzzer rang, indicating that someone was outside on the boarding ramp. Edited by Hobro, Jan 14 2014, 10:55 PM.

He burst out laughing, the conversation had become so comfortable and friendly he had forgotten almost entirely about his payment, he nodded to her between laughs and brought a hand up to his mouth to contain his mirth. Lowering the mug he took a breath, getting to his feet. "Yeah, I've got it. Hold on..." He moved down to his refrigerator then reaching above it he tapped a small panel, it opened abruptly, a hidden door. Inside he retrieved a small, pyramidal shaped object. It was wrapped carefully in a linen and sealed with a legal tape. He hefted it, it was heavy for its size, and placed it on the table. "Seal still in tact Yazz." |

"Well isn't that a nifty little compartment," she mused, raising a brow at the secret panel that he had opened. Yasmine made a mental note to check around the rest of the ship for any other little cabinets that couldn't be seen by the naked eye. She took her hand off the envelope and reached for the package, inspecting the seal for any openings. Upon seeing none, she nodded her head to Jack and smiled. "Good work, Jack. Knew we could count on you to deliver this," she told him, pulling the pyramid-shaped item in closer to her. She frowned down at it for a moment, then looked back up at him with a questioning gaze. "How do you do it? Deliver sealed items and not once wonder what's inside? Doesn't it ever bother you that you could be transporting something that could easily destroy lives?" |

He hesitated, he hadn't really thought about it that way. Never actually. He'd always just done the job and done it well. What more was there? It wasn't his problem what the person who received the item he smuggled used it for. Was it? Was he just as guilty? He masked his sudden pang with a coy smile. "I'm just good at what I do I guess." he said, taking another sip of his coffee and looking up at her. "You ever get curious?" |

Yasmine reached for her cup of coffee and brought it to her lips slowly, taking the tiniest of sips out of it. "I'm always curious about everything the Foundation is doing. What I'm bringing to them, what they're shipping out..." she paused for a sigh. "I find it so mysterious, yet I can never bring myself to actually open any of the packages I'm sent to retrieve. Heh... Maybe that's why they send me," she laughed to herself, then looked away. "You're certainly good at what you do, Captain Kyterunner, I'll give you that," she muttered with a wry smirk on her face. "Both with your work for the Foundation and elsewhere.." |

"I'm the best, that's why they pick me for this kinda work. Though this was the first time I had to go into Sith space to do a pick up." He sat down and stared at the object. Her earlier line of questioning gnawed at him again. For the first time in his life he genuinely wanted to open that parcel. Something about it smelled off to him, not just the musty old wrapping or the hemp rope that tied it shut. He took a breath and glanced over at one of the active screens on his wall. It was giving a readout of the local news scene. Nothing interesting to note but it served as enough of a distraction to temporarily free him from curiosity's grip. He turned back to the beautiful woman sitting in front of him. "Lets not let our evening end here, I'm sure you're not expected back for some time, am I right? I'm not a bad cook you know." |

"I'll apologize for sending you out that way on behalf of my employers... Though I think you'll find yourself plentifully reimbursed for your troubles in your payment," she told him, nodding in his direction. Yasmine smiled as Jack offered to extend their meeting over dinner, though she was rather unsure of how to handle the situation. She glanced over at the package, knowing she had to get it back to her boss before a certain hour, but at the same time she felt herself drawn to the smuggler who had risked himself to retrieve said package. "I suppose it wouldn't be terrible to stay for a bit longer. That is, if you don't mind having me around," she told him with a small shrug of her shoulders. "But if you're looking for any favors, those will cost extra," she winked. |

"Stars, I would mind very terribly if a beautiful woman such as yourself took the time to have dinner with me on my ship." He said sarcastically before turning to his small kitchen. He didn't bother to respond to her request for payment in the event of coitus. Instead, he contented himself with the knowledge that he had a charming evening planned. For once, was it so bad to want to wine and dine a lady first? He had already been smoking nerf steak the night before though he had planned to save the substantial leftovers. Instead, after a quick garnish two plates were prepared. He placed one before her with a wink. Sometimes it really was better to be lucky rather than good. |

"Nerf steak? Honestly Jack, I'm impressed," Yasmine said, looking the dish over. She hadn't eaten this well in a long time, not since her last big assignment-- and even then she wasn't able to afford something like this. She waited for him to sit down before picking up her fork, and began eating. "It's delicious. Thank you," she smiled. She truthfully wasn't sure what she was going to do for dinner this evening before the Captain had invited her to stay. She probably would have scrounged up whatever she could muster from her apartment, but even her supplies there were starting to go bare. She made a mental note to hit up the market after she got paid for this delivery. "Where are you headed once I'm gone? Surely you're not staying on Bothawui any longer than you needed to, right?" |

"After Bothawui? I've got a package to deliver to Kashyyk Actually. Though its not smuggling this time." He said bluntly, stretching and getting to his feet. The Nerf Steak was amazing, he was glad he had gone to that street market back on Rodia, some radians may be sleazy but when you knew where to look... He picked up the plates and put them in the sink, cleaning them briefly before putting them up to drain. His eyes roamed over her once before he moved into the salon of his ship. The lounge area had a rather comfortable couch to sit on where he had set up a table. He poured two fresh glasses of wine and sat down, inviting her to sit with him. "Medical supplies, actually." |

"A legitimate transport? I'm impressed," she muttered, moving from the table they had finished eating on and drifting towards the couch. Yasmine lowered herself onto the comfortable piece of furniture and smirked, reaching for one of the glasses that Jack had poured and took a sip. One more couldn't hurt. "Medical supplies, hmm? All legal ones, I presume," she snickered, her face starting to turn red from all of the wine she had consumed during dinner. Maybe one more was a bad idea. "I doubt you'd have anything I'd be interested in." |
