A Meeting of New and Old [Closed]

Today was just an average day at Satella HQ. Inside was pure chaos. Officers and wizards ran from place to place, whether it was to deliver information or items, or reporting to a higher up. Alarms occassionally sounded as a crime was reported and units dispatched. Once in a while a cry of frustration was heard as the coffee dispensers stopped working.

Outside the base, a lone human/wizard pair was seen at a nearby bench. The rather large blocky wizard floated beside the bench, where a young teenager was sitting. He was still dressed in his GSP uniform, and was asleep, exhausted from having to work a night shift and too tired to move at the moment. His wizard was hovering around the bench, acting as an intimidator to prevent people from waking his partner up.

"Hey! Thats him!"

Zuhal had just walked off the Wave Liner before Del had yelled his find. They had come to the Satella HQ to look around for Angus, since they didn't have many leads as to where he would actually be at. It made sense that a Satella Officer would be where other Satella Officers were at, but Zuhal didn't expect to find him this quickly. He had to be sure that Del wasn't jumping the gun on this one.

"Are you sure? Can you feel the OOPArt's energy coming from him?"

"Yeah! Its a little faint, but its there. That guy DEFINITELY has to know somethin' about the OOPArts."

Zuhal walked forward by Del's lead. He couldn't see anything, so he had no idea how far away the man was. Del's tug was more forceful than usual, so he could only guess that he was pretty far away. Zuhal wouldn't see the massive form of Colossus when Del's tug stopped, but he ignored it nevertheless.

Zuhal put both of his hands in his pocket, allowing his blue long sleeve shirt to hide his skin from sight. Unaware of what the man on the bench was doing, Zuhal called out to get his attention with 2 simple words.

"...Angus Young?"

Unfortunately for Zuhal, his words essentially fell on deaf ears. Angus was out cold, and all he got was a bunch of random gibberish as he moved slightly on the bench before snoring again. It would essentially take a herd of elephants to wake him from his slumber at the moment.

He did however get the attention of Colossus, whom wasn't too happy the boy and wizard were trying to wake up his partner. He floated over between them and Angus, a stern look on his face. Before he spoke, he looked the pair over, trying to figure out anything about them, crossing his arms as he did. The wizard was a dolphin, and an active one at that. The human seemed normal... yet he didn't seem to realise Angus was asleep, and also had been tugged by his partner all the way over. 'Perhaps he is blind?' he thought, coming to the only conclusion he could think of, other than being REALLY ignorant.

"Could you two keep it down?" he spoke harshly and quietly, glaring at the dolphin since his conclusion meant the dolphin acted as the boy's eyes. "That is indeed Angus Young, but he's sleeping right now due to a long night shift. I'm his wizard Colossus, is there a reason you need him right this moment?"

Colossus had just confirmed everything. With a stroke of luck, they had found Angus and Colossus alone and outside of the Satella Police HQ. Zuhal didn't know how this encounter would turn out, but he wasn't about to make any effort into being too friendly. He kept his volume the same, hoping to slowly wake Angus from his sleep.

"Yes, I need to speak with both of you right now. I don't care if he's asleep, I'm here on an important matter, and I'm not about to waste my time waiting for him to wake up. He can get some sleep after he gives me what I want."

Del had remained quiet. Although Zuhal couldn't see Colossus, Del did. He wished he couldn't. Colossus' form was huge, making the dolphin AMian look more like a minnow in comparison. Del hovered closer to the ground, ducking behind part of Zuhal's leg as protection. He tried to not look so helpless, but Del was clearly intimidated by Colossus' size alone.

Zuhal pushed his sunglasses up. He would wait for Angus to wake up before asking any questions.

"Either you can wake him up, or I'll do it for you."

Colossus sighed as Zuhal gave his demands, knowing full well that he couldn't do anything about it. "All right I'll wake him up one sec." he said, the sound of defeat in his voice. He turned and bent over the sleeping figure, shaking his shoulder as he said, "Angus? Angus wake up! Someone wants to speak to you! It's urgent!"

The boy stirred, but wasn't quite ready to fully wake up nor did he feel like it. "If it's Vann, tell him no he can't have it. I still don't feel it's any safer in his hands than my own." he grunted rather rudely, unhappy that he had been woken up.

Colossus made a noise that sounded like he was clearing his throat. "Um... It's not Vann at all actually... And I'm not sure what they want exactly."

That was enough to give Angus a shock that woke him up in mere moments. He looked at the pair before him, stretching his arms and legs as he remained on the bench. "Alrighty..." he said, letting out a loud yawn, "What is it you need to talk to me about Mister...?" he said glancing between human and wizard. Colossus hadn't given him any names, nor had he heard any.

Colossus' remarks about Vann answered several questions for Zuhal. Vann had indeed known who Angus was, and apparently he had already encountered Angus about the Shuriken. This was just an assumption, but based on Vann's last remark to Zuhal, this seemed like the most likely chain of events. If it was true, getting the OOPArt wouldn't be an easy task.

"Zuhal. Zuhal Akybi. I'm a fellow Satella Officer like yourself. The cowering dolphin behind me is Del."

"Hey!" Del perked up and moved beside Zuhal. He didn't like his partner picking on his cowardice, yet he still stayed low to the ground, away from Colossus but close to Zuhal. "He's big. So what? That doesn't mean I'm scared of him!"

Ignoring Del's defense, Zuhal continued. "I know you have a OOPArt. You might not have it with you right now, but I know that its been in your possession recently. I also know you attacked a civilian to get it for yourself."

Zuhal's tone was becoming more and more solemn as he spoke. "I don't care what your reasoning behind your actions were. Whether your intentions were good or not, I can't allow you, or anyone, to have one of those OOPArts. I know you're aware of their power, how tempting, yet frightening, they are to hold. You've shaken up Aylex pretty bad taking the thing from her. You do not want that item, I guarantee it."

Angus leaned forward as Zuhal stated what he knew and what he wanted and desired. He held his head down low as the encounter with Aylex was mentioned. "Well now, all I have to say about the encounter with Aylex was that I was not on duty, nor did I mention I was GSP. I wonder how he found out..." he wondered out loud, fiddling with his Hunter. Eventually, a large screen materialized in the air, displaying an old newspaper article with the headline, 'Psycho Ninja Boy runs rampant!' Underneath in smaller text was 'GSP officer seriously wounded in line of duty.'. He pushed the article in front of Del, so that the wizard could see exactly what Angus had been through. "I'm sorry about what I did to the boy, I truly am. Howev

"Funny you should make those very demands abouts the OOPArt," he remarked, a frown on his face, "I was going to tell you the same thing. So obviously we're at an impasse over this." He sighed. "Now normally this would be the part where I explain my terrible past with the OOPArt which is the whole reason why I don't want anyone else having it... BUT you don't seem like you're in the mood to listen, and the last guy I told it to didn't give a crap so I'll just skip to the end."

A grim look came over his face as his tone became dark, "The bastard known as the Tribe King killed my best friend with the power of the Shinobi Star. That's the reason why I don't want anyone else to have it and why I hold onto it myself. In order to avoid that happening to anyone else."

Angus' explanation struck home with Zuhal. He knew how Angus felt about the OOPArt's power, and there was even a little bit of respect for the injured officer. They had the same cause, and they both knew just how dangerous the OOPArts were, but Zuhal pushed this gut feeling aside. In Zuhal's mind, no one could understand the task that he appointed himself to mankind, and the big difference between Zuhal and Angus was that they weren't the same person. Even if Angus had been through the same situation as Zuhal, an even worse situation actually, he couldn't just simply accept Angus' help.

Del peered at the newspaper article, but kept his silence. He didn't quite understand the point of Angus showing it to both of them, but he still looked if over quietly. If there was any important information in that article, Del would let Zuhal know later. For now, the AMian knew to let Zuhal handle the situation on his own.

Zuhal's tone was hesitant. "No one should have the Shuriken. Carrying that thing around is putting you one step closer to having the Tribe King's power, and I promise you that its a power that you won't be able to control. How can I trust that you won't go seeking after the same power that destroyed your friend? The simple answer is that I can't."

Confidence was beginning to rebuild in Zuhal's tone. He had thought long and hard about how he should go about protecting the OOPArts, and only one solution made sense. "...That thing needs to be destroyed. It should have never existed to begin with, and as long as it exists, its going to leave a path of destruction in its wake. As noble as your cause is, you've still managed to hurt Aylex using the thing. No one should have the OOPArts."

The newspaper article that Del looked over detailed the rampage a boy with the power of the Shinobi Tribe had caused on Dream Island, before being stopped by a trio of individuals, one of whom was seriously injured. That person would be identified in the article as Angus himself. Angus had broughrt up the article so he would be able to show his experience with the Ninja tribe, as well as subtly hint he had dealt with it more than he was letting on.

Angus didn't like what Zuhal had said about the incident with Aylex though. "I never used it at the time!" he said angrily, upset that Zuhal was accusing him of misusing it's power. "At that moment Aylex was tapping into it's power with no idea what he was doing or what it was! It had literally just fallen from the sky and landed at his feet!" Beside him, Colossus backed up his story with his own statement. "We tried to prevent him from using it but he went and tapped into it. That's when the whole fight began!"

Angus kept his mouth shut though when Zuhal mentioned having a fragment of the Tribe Kings power while having the OOPArt. Zuhal obviously didn't know the OOPArt had permanently bestowed it's power upon Angus. Angus didn't know it, but it had been through that power that Del had been able to identify him. He hoped the two didn't know he permanently had it, even if he didn't know the OOPArt would do that if he passed it's test.

As Zuhal mentioned destroying it, Angus became visibly paler, his tone uncertain and somewhat shaky. "As much as I'd love to get rid of it, there are some problems..." A large screen popped up in front of Del and Zuhal, showing the OOPArt in it's current state. "I can't throw it into the ocean as the thing will find another master, just like it did to Aylex. Even then, I already know a multitude of people whom want the thing, and they'd dive down just as willingly for it."

He gestured at the picture of the OOPArt. "That thing is hundreds if not thousands of years old. Yet look at it! It's in perfect shape! And supposedly when Mu rose from the ocean and subsequently went back down the OOPArts went down with it. Yet look at it. Time in the water has done nothing to it what so ever. What's worse is that it literally has a mind of it's own." He shook his head, his voice unchanging, sounding as if he had given up. "I don't know why the ancient tribe created this, but I know two things for sure. It has ALOT of power, and it either has a spirit sealed within or a mind of it's own. The same applies to the other two from what I've heard, and becasue of that, I'm afraid of trying to destroy it. Would breaking it cause the spirit to die and the power to fade, or would it just free it from it's chains, able to jump from person to person at will, able to cause more chaos than it could while trapped in the OOPArt? It's a risk I don't wish to take because if the latter theory is true then how would you stop that?"

Zuhal continued to look in Angus' direction, despite the picture of the Shuriken that had been shown. He could hear the buzz and whir of Matter Waves activating, but he wouldn't be able to see it in his current state. It wouldn't matter if Zuhal gave a noticeable amount of attention to the projection or not. There was no reason to doubt his vision, and ignoring a hologram was hardly a means to accuse someone of being blind.

Del finished reading the article. He wasn't quite satisfied with it holding his interest, but clearly it was important to Angus. The whole situation with Tribe King had been explained enough to the two of them to get that Angus did indeed have a close connection with the OOPArts. The article only served to say that Angus' Wizard was the friend he was talking about, and that Angus was injured. The rest didn't really seem important to Del (although Zuhal might think otherwise).

Zuhal addressed Angus' concerns. "I'm aware that these things don't like to stay in one place for long. When I had met Tribe King, I saw him fly off to God knows where in space with the OOPArts. Somehow, they managed to get back to Earth. Throwing it away isn't going to work."

"And don't be paranoid." Zuhal's tone was becoming judgmental. He didn't think Angus' concern held any water. "Its just as likely that whatever is bound up in the Shuriken won't be able to survive if we destroy it. You can't honestly believe that the thing is haunted by some spirits of Mu. Its a high concentration of EM waves thats manifested itself into a being. You might as well call it a UMA from Mu, because thats pretty much what it is. The object itself is like an ancient star carrier. The 'spirit' inside behaves no more than a Wizard does. It needs that object to survive, and it needs people like us in order to thrive. Letting that thing exist is only helping it accomplish what it wants."

This was all assumptions based on what Zuhal had researched about the OOPArts, but he certainly thought his reasoning was much more probable than Angus' evil spirit hypothesis.

Angus listened to Zuhal's argument before countering with his own. "Alright maybe I am being a little paranoid. Maybe there isn't an evil spirit inside it. However we both agree on one thing. It has a consciousness." he paused for a moment to let it sink in before continuing, "You've pointed out that the item can move on it's own and say it needs the OOPArt to live. Now let's think this through for a moment."

"We know that it has immense power, and that it can use it to travel to other locations or channel it's power, and it's will in the case of those whom aren't prepared." He rubbed his chin as he thought it over. "From what I've researched, it can prevent it's 'Star Carrier' from being damaged by the elements over time. It is indeed capable of using it's power for more that just powering an individual."

"Which brings us to a problem. Since the OOPArt IS aware of it's surrondings and holder, AND it can use it's powers on its own, it's only logical to assume it can use them to defend itself, whether it be as a shield or to fight off an aggressor. That would mean it WOULD flee at first chance, going to someone else whom may not hide it or use it for better things as I have, but use it for everything we DON'T want to happen."

"Yes it may leave me at sometime, yes it will still exist." he spoke, determination in his voice, "But I'd prefer to keep it in my possession instead of risking it running off to someone else sooner that it normally would, if at all."

It seemed Zuhal and Angus were not quite the same. Angus was being overprotective of the OOPArt, and although his reasoning did make sense, Zuhal saw his fellow officer as being a coward. Zuhal didn't want the thing to exist at all, while Angus wanted to keep it from being put into the wrong hands. Both had the same goal, but their methods were different, as was their reasoning.

"Don't be stupid." Zuhal was starting to get a little more hostile. "Pull the damn thing out and show me how it looks like its still brand new. Its an object, no more than our Hunter VG's are, and it can certainly be destroyed. It might still be in one piece, but that doesn't make it invincible. Pull it out and I'll show you that your fear is misplaced."

Zuhal pulled his Hunter VG up, messing with it as if he was going to Wave Change. "Del!" His voice was commanding and stern from what he could only discern was ignorance from Angus. The dolphin immediately perked up and jumped back into the Hunter VG, ready to merge with Zuhal.

"Lets destroy it. Right here, right now. One of us can hold it, so you don't have to be worried or paranoid about the thing getting up and walking away. Go get it. We'll end this damn OOPArt's existence before someone else abuses its power."

Zuhal was focused and ready. The growing darkness inside of him had manifested itself into what he considered was a justified rage. The truth was, the OOPArt was a medium for releasing something sinister that had started to grow ever since his encounter at IFL Tower. The event had left him blind and damaged, a mere shell of his former self. Zuhal didn't realize it, and Del barely could comprehend it, but there was definitely a darkness that could be felt around him. Hatred had taken hold.

Angus swallowed hard as Zuhal demanded Angus pull out the OOPArt to break, and beside him Colossus silently mumbled "Uh oh...". Angus never carried the OOPArt when on duty, instead keeping it locked away with May and another friend of their's watching over it. It was mainly for the safety of the GSP as a whole he didn't care it while working.

"Yeeeahhhh about that...." he began, fiddling with his hands in nervousness. "The OOPArt is not on me at the moment nor anywhere near GSP HQ. I never carry it when on duty for the safety of other officers." Then he realised something. Zuhal had ignored the picture he had just shown them, which was the OOPArt as it was when it came into his possession, yet demanded to see it still. Something wasn't right....

"Instead it's locked away somewhere safe with people I trust with my life guarding it. If it decides to take off they'll be after it in a heartbeat." he continued, worried about the hostile state Zuhal was now taking. "If it takes off then I'll search to the corners of the universe for it and take it back if it's in the wrong hands. However, I know the Zerker Sword is being abused at this moment by the wrong people....."

Zuhal dropped his arms as he moved his head in frustration. Talking with Angus was becoming infuriating to the older teen, since his expectations were being shot down one by one. It seemed that Zuhal would have to take care of this himself.

"You've got to be kidding me." His voice became a little more silent, much like the calm before a storm. He rubbed his forehead as he tried to think of an alternative plan. "So you say you're going to hold on to it and protect it, but you give it to someone else to do it for you. Well that's smart. I'm sure giving it to your friend is much better than letting you handle it, because that's got to be the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. Where's the Zerker Sword? Did you give that to one of your criminal buddies to watch over? I'm sure he'd take good care of it."

Zuhal crossed his arms, still moving in a rather frustrating manner while dropping his sarcasm. "Where are they?"

Angus was hurt deep down when Zuhal referred to May as a criminal. Even if Zuhal didn't know May, it was still a pretty nasty remark. "Like I said, I trust them with my life and I've known them my whole life. That's how I know they won't take off with the OOPArt nor do anything stupid. Now stop insulting people you don't even know, because I'm not revealing the Shinobi Star's location." Angus had become frusturated with Zuhal, tired of having to deal with his own stubbornness, as well as his ignorance.

Colossus spoke up before Angus could say anymore, tired of having to listen to the two argue over the Shinobi Star and had already realised it was taking for a turn to the worse. Changing the conversation to the Zerker Sword would be for the better. "Oh no, we didn't give the sword to our friend. The sword gave itself to our friend, just like the Shinobi did to Aylex, and almost immediately after he was attacked by somebody for it." He leaned forward. "We don't know who the person is. Our friend didn't get a good glimpse at his attacker before he took off. Now shouldn't that be the priority right now? Finding the one that currently possesses the most risk?"

Angus had clammed up about the Shuriken's location. Zuhal had been less than friendly with the Satella Officer, so it should have come to no surprise that the OOPArt's location wouldn't be given up so easily. More drastic methods began to form in Zuhal's mind as he tried to think of ways to find out where Angus had hidden it, none of which he'd actually follow through with. For now, he had to try to pry as much information out of Angus as he could.

"As far as I know, the shuriken is just as vulnerable as the sword is. I'll chase after the sword, that much you can be certain of, but I can't stand here and let the shuriken be left with some guy that claims that his friend is keeping it safe. We both want the same thing here, so we should at least give destroying it a shot. I don't have to know where it is, I just need it destroyed. You can go get it, or we can meet up somewhere after you're done working here. Hell, give it a shot with your friend. That thing needs to be in no one's hands."

Zuhal gave a pause, calming down a bit. This encounter wasn't going like he wanted it to, but at least he had another lead. "Who's your friend? I can go pay him a visit and see if he can help."

Zuhal had finally calmed down, as had Angus. "The name of my friend is Daisuke. I don't know where he is at the moment so you're on your own there." He tapped a couple of buttons on his Hunter, forwarding stuff to Zuhal's Hunter. "I'm sending you his email and mine. Mainly in case you find the guy that nabbed the sword. I'm sure Daisuke would love to have some pay back."

Angus did want to try and get on Zuhal's good side though, and deep down his curiousity was getting the better of him too. What would happen if the OOPArt was destroyed. "Alright fine, you want to see if it can be destroyed, then let's find out." He tapped some more buttons on his Hunter, causing the screen displaying the Shuriken to change to a ringing telephone. Before long, a masked figure with some sort of organic armour appeared on the screen.

"Angus? What's going on? Everything's fine over here and it's still here." The room she was in had it's curtains closed, cutting off any view of the outside world. In the background, two other people were heard, arguing over where the Sword could be.

"Listen, I'm here with someone, and I need you to do something. I need you to try and destroy the OOPArt. If what my friend here says is true, we could be rid of it and it's dangers easily."

Atrus breathed in sharply as she heard this. "Alright if you say so." The camera was briefly covered up, and a series of yelling and bangs were heard as the OOPArt was retrieved from it's hiding spot. Before long, the camera was uncovered to show Atrus gripping a Shinobi Star that was in perfect condition with two large spiked claws from her back. "Are you sure about this?"

"I'm positive about it."

And with that, Atrus aimed both hands at the item, the claws holding it out a safe distance from her, her hands glowing with a mixture of light and dark energy. She then fired everything she had at the OOPArt...

And the scene on screen turned into a massive blur, with painful screams, swearing, and other sounds in the background heard. The Hunter was sent flying across the room and settled on it's side, showing damaged furniture thrown around the room as well as the OOPArt untouched, still in perfect condition. The feed lasted a few seconds with May in the background threatening, "Next time I see you Angus...." before the feed was cut off.

Angus could only stare at the feed, pale as a ghost mainly because of the wrath of May was a scary one to face. "Does that answer your question?"

Del was quick to send Angus their email, since he was still pinned up in the Hunter VG with nothing to do. He would stay in there for awhile until he was sure that Zuhal had calmed down. His partner was scary when he got like this, and it seemed to the electromagnetic dolphin that Zuhal had been getting like this pretty frequently.

May's attempt to destroy the OOPArt didn't amuse Zuhal. He might not have seen the events that transpired, but from the sound of things it seemed that they had ultimately failed. Although there was an attempt to destroy the shuriken, Zuhal was still not satisfied. Actually, the only way Zuhal would be sure that destroying it was impossible was if he tried it himself. Angus' friend had sounded less than competent.

"The only question that their little performance answered was that you have a poor sense of safety. How do you expect some girl to destroy something that powerful, with or without a Wizard's help? You probably need more power to destroy the thing. Just bring it here and we'll destroy it ourselves."

Again, Zuhal was continuing to insult others in his ignorance, which wasn't helping since Angus was now a little frusturated that Zuhal's logic had just caused a lot of pain for May. "In case you didn't notice, that 'girl' was wave changed when she tried to destroy it. If a wave changed being can't destroy it, let alone harm it without violent retaliation, then I doubt you can do any better. It would probably take another OOPArt to destroy it at least, if that's even possible."

He got up from the bench, stretching his back to get the stiffness out from sitting on the bench for so long. "Are you done demanding the thing? I've made it clear several times, it is not leaving my hands. I have other business to take care of today, as well as start to figure out where that sword and it's thief are."

Zuhal wasn't going to drop the subject without a fight. Truth be told, Angus' idea to clash OOPArt against OOPArt made sense to the stubborn GSP. It would be his best angle to both destroying the shuriken as well as possibly getting Angus to reveal its location. If Zuhal got his hands on the sword or the rock, it was possible that Angus might want to keep both OOPArts in the same place. He had no way of knowing for sure, but it was certainly better than persuading Angus.

"Fine. Do what you want. You should take care of the problem that you have with the shuriken first before you go chasing after more. You'll only be making it easier for someone to swipe up all the OOPArts by gathering them up without a plan. Once I find the Zerker Sword, we'll give destroying the shuriken another go. Will you at least agree to that?"
