No better place to learn how to use ranged weapons than the place where the infamous DiamondIce incident occured, neh?

Don Cossack stood on the wave road and stared down at the ground where the projection stage laid. Today, there was no stage projected, but even just looking at the wave projector filled him with a wave of nostalgia. That had been a pretty good concert, and the kid who had jumped into action when the stage began to freeze was even better. MegaMan, I believe, was his Wave Transformation. Good kid.

He turned, hearing something, but what he saw was this...

The howl of an animal had echoed out, and when Don Cossack turned, he would stare into a pair of white, needle-like eyes. He was facing a wolf with grey fur that jutted backwards and stood on end. The Wave Warrior wouldn't have much time to register was what going on before the wolf slashed at him with one of his claws, which had extended to a length of three meters, in a sweeping horizontal strike.

A few steps behind the wolf were three other virii who stood side by side. In the center was a brown squirrel coming out of a tree stump. To its left was a yellow figure, who resembled an arabian sultan, riding a floating green carpet. To the squirrel's right was a virus that seemed to be made of junk. It had a dark grey body, orange head and green eyes, and it picked up a stone cube out of nowhere with its gloved hands before placing it down in front of itself.

Don Cossack wouldn't need to take much of a look to know he was in trouble. As the animal's great claw swiped at his side, Don Cossack was in the process of drawing a gun. Not just any gun, but the PlasmaGun - or rather, PlasmaGun 1.

Gritting his teeth, he fired at pretty durned close quarters, that is to say, as close as it could be in ten feet of distance. Hopefully, he'd be able stun the stupid wolf-virus. That would be one down, three to go.

Heaving a PowerBomb at the squirrel, he quickly exchanged the PlasmaGun 1 for an AirSpread 1 and fired at the same squirrel, hoping to hit and deal collateral damage.

There was nothing the wolf could do but take the shot aimed at it. It winced in pain and was thrown backwards as its body locked up in place due to the paralysis.

As soon as it saw a bomb coming its way, the squirrel immediately hid into its tree stump to save itself from harm. The MatJinn knew of the bomb's properties as well, and charged forwards to move out of the blast's range. The only who didn't see the bomb coming was the Junk-0, and it was startled as the bomb exploded on contact with the stump and it was caught in the explosion. It also didn't see the Air Spread shot aimed at the stump before it was too late, the spread hitting it three times before the virus exploded into peces of data. Apparently the cover of rock that the virus had put up backfired on him.

The MatJinn's charge had put him well out of the range of the shot's spread, as he didn't stop rushing towards Don Cossack until it was two meters in front of the Wave Warrior. At this time, the Grey Wolf could feel the movement coming back to its body, and it backed away so that the Jinn would be free to attack as he pleased. The sultan-like virus threw out a carpet which rolled out towards Cossack. After the carpet had finished rolling, the wolf took action, warping in front of the Wave Warrior again to bite him with its fangs.

The squirrel had ducked the blow, that was sure. He was rewarded with pieces of flying junk for his troubles; it seemed he had eliminated the junk-cube placer. Don grimaced when he noted the MatJinn and the Wolf-virus in front of him again.

A carpet came flying; Don started firing with the AirSpread again, hoping to hit the virus while he could. A wave of nausea washed over him as he was nailed by a massive rolling rug, but the sensation of teeth in flesh brought him to his senses.

Don knew what he had to do - and fired at the MatJinn as he rolled, tearing the fangs from his body as he tumbled towards the cube. There, he'd be safe from the terrible squirrel. And there, he fired at the stump again - if that blasted squirrel popped up it's ugly head, it would be rewarded with a blast from his AirSpread.

The MatJinn hadn't noticed the gun aimed at him fast enough, and the shot fired from it struck it square on its chest. It was unable to escape the shot's spread in time as well, taking all three hits. Meanwhile, the wolf was pushed away from the Wave Warrior, and grit its teeth in anger and glared at Don before the virus recomposed itself.

The squirrel was getting pretty comfy hiding in the cover of its tree stump, and was wondering whether it should come out or not. However, the fire from the Air Spread buster took away all its doubt, the shot striking the stump three times and spreading to hit the Stone Cube as well. That only further motivated the squirrel to keep hiding.

Nearing the point of deletion, the wolf and the arabian virus refused to let up on their assaults. The Jinn trailed after Don as he moved towards the cube, again throwing a carpet that would roll out to catch the Wave Warrior and turn the ground below into grass. After that was done, the wolf rushed towards their mutual enemy and stopped just short of him, raising its left claw, which had extended to 3-meters, and slashing in a left-to-right horizontal sweep. Even if Cossack managed to avoid the attacks headed his way, the cube he was using for protection would fall to the attacks, as it had already been severely weakened by the Air Spread shots.

Landing was rough. The virus attack made it rougher - as the carpet rolled out, it struck him squarely. Eye for an eye... He fired the AirSpread as the Wolfie landed in front of him, intending to blast the virus at close-quarters, hopefully ending this encounter.

Dodging is a tough art, and Cossack was no master. He instead got nicked on the chest while he turned his attention to the squirrel.

OOC: You forgot to advance your custom at one point. You'll be at 4 on the next turn.
Both the carpet and the claw slash suceeded in damaging Cossack, and also in destroying the cube of stone behind the warrior, which was torn apart after the wolf's claw sweep. Speaking of which, the canine virus was unable to avoid the shot aimed at it while it was in the middle of attacking, and it was blown into smeethreens. However, the shot's spread should also hit Cossack itself, for the wolf had been literally in front of the Warrior when he fired.

The squirrel felt an impact in its hiding place as the carpet struck the stump while it was rolling. However, the virus felt a patch of grass forming beneath it which left it more comfortable. The Nutty stood still a bit more, waiting, but when it felt no other impact against its beloved stump, it decided it was time to stop hiding. The squirrel popped its head out of its hiding place, holding a green bomb in its hand, which it lobbed just beside Cossack's position. The bomb would explode as soon as it made contact with the ground, or even anything else for that matter, covering a three-meter diameter area. Green smoke would cloud the area from view momentarily, as the ground beneath would turn into more grass panels.

The MatJinn would have been caught in the friendly fire, but it immedately floated away from the bomb the moment its fellow virus pulled it out. The arabian virus would rest this turn, floating over one of the few patches of normal terrain in intact in the Wave Roads. After all, his rolling carpets and the squirrel's bomb had transformed a good part of the area into grass. Including the ground below Cossack.

He had managed to delete the wolfie, but not without first getting hit, by the wolf's claws and his own gun's fire, and then by the bouncing bomb. But while he was getting hit, he was striking back with a blow of his own - his buster had formed and he let loose a torrent of red, round orbs in the direction of the blasted squirrel, and let loose a second torrent at the flying carpet virus.

OOC: If you took the full damage from the Acorn Bomb and from your Air Spread, your health should be at 66%. You already subtracted the health from the claw sweep previously.
The squirrel was expecting a counter-attack alright, but the shots of fire were a complete surprise. The virus could only yelp in pain as it was pelted by each and every shot, the flames quickly consuming its body. It even tried ducking back to its hideout, but to no avail, as the flames incinerated the tree stump as well. With one final cry, the Nutty exploded into bits and pieces of data as the last of the shots hit it.

The MatJinn may have been at the end of its life, but it wasn't going to accept death lying down. The virus was already on the move when the buster was pointed its way, quickly swerving to the right to avoid the barrage of fiery shots, which burned through some of the grass that had formed due to the virii's attack. The arabian virus stopped moving, floating on top of some of the remaining grass as it threw out another carpet at Don Cossack, which only filled the Wave Road with more grass.

Cossack fired dead ahead at the virus with his buster burst, hoping to end the fight well. He shrugged off the high-speed carpet blow, focused on hitting the blasted raghead rather than dodging attacks. Perhaps today would be his lucky day?

When Cossack fired his barrage of fiery shots again, the MatJinn realized that it should have never stopped moving. The virus tried to move out of the way of the shots in time, but the very first shot grazed him as he did so, and that was all that was needed to end the virus' life, as it exploded upon contact with the shot.

Don Cossack would be left alone in the now grassy Wave Road. However, he would have soon have company, as more virii were rapidly approaching his position, ready to avenge their just-deleted fellows. Would the Wave Warrior stay and fight, or would he tend to his injuries and run away?

The smart thing to do would be to retreat, cutting losses while he could. Don Cossack wasn't known for backing down - nay, in his memory, he had never backed down. Rhetorical question. Of course I stay.

The dark warrior smiled like a kid at Christmas, adjusting his cloak with his free hand. "Come on, little guys! Poke your head out!"

The approaching virii were not actually approaching at all. On the contrary, all of them seemed pretty happy staying stationary, though most didn't even have that choice.

One of the members of the pack should be very familiar to Don Cossack, as it was an identical brother of the squirrel he had just deleted. It seemd much less conservative and more carefree than its brother, though, since it was wagging its tail in Cossack's direction as if throwing all caution to the wind.

A couple meters to its left was a virus reminiscent of a BaseSniper, but a bit different, as its upper half hovered just above its base. High levels of Noise could be felt within this virus.

Two meters to the left of the MadBade was a tanuki, a virus that looked like a blue racoon with a leaf upon its head, jumping from side to side. And standing just behind the tanuki was a blue plant, rooted firmly to the ground. These duo didn't look like they intended to do much.

But the other did. The barrel of the MadBase's gun spun as it fired at Cossack, the powers of Chaos determining how many shots would be fired. The carefree Nutty followed soon after, turning around and lobbing a familiar bomb at the Wave Warrior's direction that would explode as soon as it made contact with anything, enveloping a three-meter diameter area in its green smoke and covering the very same area with grass.

Which foe was the deadliest? That would depend on whom you ask, and also what panels were under you. Ignoring the BaseSniper-like virus, Cossack's eyes narrowed as he spotted yet another squirrel. Just how many buggers are there? There was also a racoon-like virus - not much of a threat - and a little blue plant, which could pose some problems in the future.

In the meantime, Cossack had much more to worry about than a little plant. The squirrel had lobbed a bomb, and the gatling virus had let rip a barrage. Who to strike first? Instintively, Cossack let rip a barrage in the general direction of the bomb, allowing it to explode harmelessly in the air, still near the virus. That threat was neutralized - but as he turned to face the mortar, he felt the pelting of vicious bullets.

Turn, fire. The question was: who to fire at? If the racoon and plant weren't going to do much, he should focus on other opponents, but on the other hand, taking them out now would save trouble later. Mind made up, he aimed his buster at the racoon and let the barrage rip.

The shots pierced through the bomb just as it left the squirrel's hand, causing it to explode prematurely near the virus. It was pretty startled when it was caught in its own explosion, but the grass that was formed just beneath it by the bomb was more than welcome. The squirrel looked at Don Cossack with an angry face, sticking its tongue out at the Wave Warrior before ducking into the cover of its tree stump.

The tanuki was peacefully jumping from side to side, when suddenly five shots of fire were coming its way. The virus quickly vanished, and Don Cossack would find himself face to face with a blue Wave Warrior with red shades upon its face, though no eyes could be seen from behind it. The nameless Wave Warrior wordlessly lashed out at Cossack with a two-meter long sword in a horizontal slash across its foe's chest.

Of course, since the CopyFokx was no longer protecting the plant, it was left vulnerable to the barrage of fiery shots that threatened to delete it. However, the virus was able to launch a shot of pollen into the air that would fall upon Cossack's position, just before the shots collided against it and the Weed Pollen exploded in flames.

When it finished its attack, the Wave Warrior vanished, and the CopyFokx reappered on its previous position. With the path clear for another shot, the MadBase opened fire upon Cossack once more, shooting off a random number of bullets towards the Wave Warrior again.

If Cossack had more time to react, if he hadn't been firing, he might just have blocked the attack that the blue wave warrior unleashed. Cossack didn't have the time, no, it was unlikely that anybody could have reacted in time. As it was, Don Cossack was struck across his chest with a rather long blade that strangely smelt woody. Cossack had no time for self pity; the enemy had vanished and Cossack now had to worry about what the others would do. The blow had sent him reeling backwards, stumbling a meter back, vision blurring, and a shot coming in overhead. Coming in overhead? Nay, it fell short, landing with a plop where had been just prior to the slash. At least the viruses were good for something.

The first of the shots from the barrel of the virus' gun connected, bringing Cossack to his senses. With a lightning-fast reaction, his gun was up and firing, not at the gunning virus, but at the raccoon which had recently reappeared. The last bullet exiting the barrel, he swiveled to fire at the stump, just in case a certain somebody had an idea about global warming. If the treehugger wanted to see what to do about temperature change, he'd soon find himself... roasted.

The Nutty's mortal weakness to Fire was revealed, not like it was much of a secret in the first place. The fiery shots of flaming fire incinerated the wooden stump, and the grass beneath it only served to further increase the potency of the flames, which needless to say, consumed the hiding squirrel.

The tanuki also got hit by the shots, but it didn't give much of a damn to them and just kept jumping around from side to side like the happy hippy it was. The MadBase, which had no reason to be mad, simply did what it had to do, or rather what it could do, which was fire more shots towards the fiery Wave Warrior of Fire. Did I mention the quantity of the shots are determined by the unpredictable powers of Chaos? I did? Well alright then, just checking.

Bullets were enroute again, and Cossack didnt plan on getting hit this time. Rolling to the side, he was clipped by two as he went, the other shots whistling past. With an oath, he raised his gun to return fire, sending a stream of orbs in the direction of the MadBase. His barrel took on a glint as he paused for several seconds. Finally, he fired a high-velocity, high-powered shot straight at the stupid tanuki. A dumb idea, to be sure, but it was an idea.

The barrage of shots found their mark, searing into the metal of the MadBase's shell. However, as long as the base kept standing, it would fire. And that's exactly what it did, as it mindlessly fired more shots towards Cossack right after it was struck.

Afterwards, when the charged shot flew the tanuki's way, it pulled out its disappearing act and vanished in a puff of smoke. Before Cossack, a green Wave Warrior with a blue cape and pink shades appeared, and it immediately lashed out with the Long Sword in its right arm, aiming an horizontal slash at its enemy's gut.
