Now your a new player and you want to know about the game well im here too help Theres one big map of space map reset and reshuffled every 3-5 months (depending on how full it is) where stations NPCs other players planet stars wormholes nebulas and other things. Stations. they come in meany forms "Medical,Outpost,Shipyard,Comm,Tactical,Engineering,Research,Spy,Energy,HQ,Fleet base And Trade post. Medical stations are places to get more medical supplies medical personal OR to cure injures or diseases that your ship cant cure. Outpost are small armed stations usally stationed near neutral zones or in deep space. you can repair your systems and get cadets/Ensigns to train on your ship Shipyards are mainly stationed near other stations or can be big star bases made purely for building and repairing ships. here you can get detailed and the best repairs and you can buy new vessels. Comm stations dont have any purpose other than making comm signals reach destinations there taken for granted and people often think there not very useful will see about that next time your out of distress signal range all because there are no comm stations around. Tactical stations have second best defense and offensive capabilities (next to HQ) and are made too defend and blockade systems you can also get new security officers and tactical officers. Engineering Stations are stations that refit your systems and repair your systems and hull. you can also get new operations and engineering officers Research Stations Research new technology and systems they will also give you these if your trust worthy and/or you have the right amount of money. you can also get new science officers from here Spy stations are speical stations used for spying on another faction often controled by the factions special ops agency (Like Section 31) you can get special ops units from these stations (if you can find them) Energy stations not only refill your energy there used to generate power for planet or other stations. HQ. There is only ever ONE HQ Per faction its a heavily armed station usually near that factions home world. you can get every personnel unit other then spies. Fleet bases are armed stations the head of fleets (Like Battle Group Omega) you can also get every unit other then spies here but only if the fleet HQs owner lets you or your apart of the fleet Trade base is a place to buy things however you can also rarely find a black market here. RANKS AND DIVISIONS. you automatically get the rank of captain but there are ranks your crew can have Cadets are crew members who have no training in any area (meaning you can choose what division they train in) Crewman is simple someone who works in the division (like a standard engineer) Ensign's are people who are better at there division. Lieutenant are crewman who have finally goto into the rank of there divisions Lieutenant Commander crewman who have this rank are at the highest ranking officer of there division. Commander The second in command (you have control over there orders) so while your in space fighting off a star ship your away team of your commander can order the red shirts and they will at least have some orders to follow before they die. Captain well thats you or an NPC your in command of the whole ship Commodore is a rank above captain you can now control your ship and two other ships Admiral Lower half you can now control five ships Admiral Upper half you can now control seven ships Vice Admiral you can now control ten ships Fleet Admiral you can now control 15 ships and can now build the Fleet Base Governor the final rank you now have control of a planet and you can now have 20 ships per planet and an HQ (you get more planets by colonization) NOW DONT WORRY you wont lose your rank when the map resets (unless you want too) Character death when your captain dies hes gone dead then your commander takes over and so one. So if your ship blows up with all hands or some sickness kills all your crew? you get a new one now you have two options. A.you get to get your ship class but you lose your crews training or B you lose your ship and keep your whole crews skills and upgrades. now i a game master will decide combat and events when you fly beam down and such (you have a higher chance for disaster if your doing something with a damaged system or something ship cant handle/was not meant too do. Dodging is determined by three factors your ships speed the weapon firing at your speed and the accuracy of the weapon. If your ship is faster than the weapon and the accuracy of the weapon is low you will have a higher dodge chance however some weapons are un-dodgable (such as a photon torpedo with a lock) in those cases if your able to out maneuver you will be ok. |
