The hyperspace window shattered the silence in the Duat system. The small ship exiting and sliding into a serene calm, the Jaffa at the helm watched sensors and waited to see if their ripples would disturb anything in the depths...

As all remained quiet the small craft lit engines and pushed forwards towards the molted green and blue planet before them as the small crew prepared for scouting parties and to set up camp in whatever place they found.

Several Jaffa watched in awe as The Fires Light plummeted to the ground with it's blue charged shields resisting the fire of re-entry as it licked around the edges. Jets of blue shot through as the orange flames dissipated below the slowing mass. A muffled report lead a small quake through the earth below them as the massive ship rested easily in the dirt of the clearing.

Small dark ships pulled from the hanger far above the ground as the lights on the flagship died and shut down. They landed in another clearing a mile off among large tents and a few groups of Jaffa working in the camp. As the ramp lowered the dark figure of Sinri stepped from it and onto his new homeworld.

The azure sky was tinged with gold as the planet slowly rotated from the sun. And as shadows fell and the cool scent of night blew through the small city a rumbling appraoched from the south. As the mortals of the once advanced city began to look out from their crumbling houses the last of the light faded.

Through the viel of darkness a small army marched. A sight once familier to those who had survived since the time of the lord Atum as the metal boots of Jaffa stomped in perfect time. A massive Jaffa, obviously a leader, raised his fist in the air as the several hundred men came to a dead stop and silence filled the city. The now primitive people began to step from their homes lightly and approach the large open area the small army had stepped into as a single armored man climbed a makeshift podium.

The echoed voice of the gods once again rang across the abandoned temples and ruiness buildings and Sinri spoke to the people.

"Your once splendid cities have fallen into disrepair, your tall buildings and vast gardens have become overgrown and fallen even as the lord you followed has disappeared, taking the hope of this world with him as he fled beneath the might of the Titans of old. . ."

All over the world in the largest cities people gathered as the military crew of the legacy guarded a podium in a small show of force as a hologram spoke clearly from afar.

"But hope was not killed. I am Sinri servant of Promethues, the Titan who was friendly to mortals and humans and gifted them with technology and life so long as they did not side with his enemies. This he offers to you as well from his higher plane of existence that you might share in what will be a rich empire."

"You have heard the rumors of the wraiths that haunt our galaxy even as we speak! I give you two choices; follow my banner under one who would see you rise!, Or perish at the grasping hand of the moster that would see you die. . ."

The goa'uld held up his hand and a small hologram appeared over him showing each city as a dot on the atlas of Directus. Another dot appeared in a shimmering blue as the location of The Fires Light was pinpointed by the armored lord.

"In three days time you shall be expected to decide. A single messenger will be accepted to give your discussion. Will you step towards your destiny as a dominant power? Or will you fell into line to be slaughtered like cattle?"

With that Sinri stepped down from the raised stand in a dark room of his flagship and faded from sight all around the world. He looked pleased with himself as he began the walk towards the bridge.

Sinri pushed the tent flap aside and stepped into the large canvas building. Jaffa stood guard every four feet along the walls and doors of what would otherwise be an easily escapable prison. Huddled and defiant in the center of the room stood a small mass of people in travelers clothing.

The goa'uld smiled distastefully as he walked towards them and watched them shrink back in fear. Knowing the power of who they faced seemed to quell their rebelliousness that had been clearly shown before they marched past his flagship. Even so before he spoke a large burly man ducked from the group and charged him.

A sharp sound filled the air as Sinri's armored fist made contact with the mans torso and the smell of burning ozone tinted the air as the man quivered and fell at the lords feet.

"Your territories have reject my kind and generous offer, a brave act and one that shows strength, though misplaced. You are a mere fraction of those who turned willingly from their old beliefs and submitted to serve me. With so many pleading for my protection from the dangers of this galaxy I cannot leave even though you wish it so."

He used his leg to roll the fallen man over to show his badly burned sternum and singed clothing.

"The village of this man is forfeit for his actions. You however who have shown your respect shall have power in this new world or you may left to yourselves. Make your choice quickly!"

The few turned to another and whispered in earnest for a few minutes before a grunt from the lead Jaffa of the guard brought them from their discussion. A small man, probably sent with the message for his speed and agility, stepped forwards.

"We thank thee for your offer, but we must all decline and chose to be left to our own whims and leadings." He bowed slightly and didn't notice the hard look that crossed the goa'ulds eyes.

"Jaffa!. . . Kill them."

Sinri stepped easily from the tent and looked back towards his ship. As the sound of weapons and innocence screaming pierced the veil of the canvas structure he allowed himself to relax in his new sight. The vast ship lay flat as a massive section of it extended into the trees of the forest, scaffolding and smoke rose from it as teams of warriors and peasants turned farmers happily brought what metals they could coax from their ground to the new lord.

They accepted food and small trinkets for their givings as they stared in awe at the few al'kesh that took to the sky and headed for war.

Two stout ha'tak orbited Directus watchfully as the powerful flagship shook the planet with its engines and rose to the heavens. They angled as a single ha'tak and the Fires Light took to hyperspace leaving the remaining ship to head towards another planet within the system.

Far below on the planet surface a half built shipyard bussled with activity as the thankful reverent population of the planet continued to help the troops build upon the barren field. Soon a city would rise from the dirt and mud and house generations of the people.
