Your Information: Time Zone: GMT. I keep calling it GMC, but that's a car company. Your Age: 26, going on 14. I decided that I'm not going to grow up. Like Peter Pan. Email Address (optional): singingal101@gmail.com (And just FYI, I'm KatiKitten in the chatbox. Because I hadn't decided on a character, let alone a character's name when I started talking to people. :P) Have you done RP in the past? What Kind? Where? I've been doing post by post RPing since August of 2008. I've adminned on quite a few sites, modded on a bunch of others. I've been writing since I could hold a crayon and maintain that my RP beginnings was on the playground pretending to be a Power Ranger. I never grew out of the "Let's Pretend" phase and was an actress for five years, and that's basically like LARPing, when you stop to think about it. So... RPing experience is either a little over four years or almost 27 years now. (Also, my characters are kind of textbook unreliable narrators. What they think is true can not be trusted to actually be true.) EXTRA: I do want to let you guys know that I'm online a lot, but not always up to posting. Dealing with some health issues that are basically constant, but the end result as far as posting is, I have "fuzzy brain" sometimes, where I just can't think coherently enough to scrape up a post, and I've been dealing with hives in my hands for a while, making it painful to type. Good news is, other than this past week where I've had Fever Brain, the Fuzzy Brain hasn't been around for about a month now. So let's hope it stays gone for longer! I just wanted to let y'all know so that you can take my lack of dependable posting ability into account, and I promise to do what I can when I can. Character Information: Character Name: Scathach Symbiote Age: 738 Si an Bhru years. 469 Earth years, give or take. That dratted fourth of a day catches her every time, and really, there are more important things to do with her time than pointless math. Host Age: Let's just keep to Earth Years, shall we? It'll make it a lot easier. Katalana is roughly 23 years old. Host Race: Tau'ri Host Description: Tiny. If she stands up straight, Kata might be able to eke by at 5 foot, but in actuality, she's only 4'11 and just wears boots with thick soles. Also, she has an obscene amount of hair. She's scrawny, probably due to malnourishment during her childhood, but don't let that fool you. She's a fighter, through and through. She's pale, with a long scar stretching from her temple to her chin standing out against that skin. Bright blue eyes monopolize her face, and her hair is naturally a dark red, though she's streaked it liberally with blue because... she felt like it and it's her hair, damn it. She can do what she wants with it. Kata long perfected the art of moving silently, and doesn't really talk a lot unless spoken to (though she has no problem making her opinion known to Scathach, and will generally do so in great detail and, unfortunately, with an excessive amount of profanity, though Scathach is working with heron that), but when she does, her voice is a rather husky alto. She's not prone to smiling, and long since perfected keeping a straight face, so she's hell to play poker with since she can also count cards. She doesn't smile easily, and nobody (except Scathach) can remember the last time she smiled. Affiliations (Please read thread on starting rules about affiliations): Tokra. But shhhh. That's a secret, and loose lips sink ships. Personality: Katalana: Katalana, in three words, is focused, controlled, and tight. She doesn't waste things. She doesn't waste movement. She doesn't waste words. She doesn't waste time. She's economical in everything she does, and fits well with Scathach. Kata is very smart, and knows it. But, as with most things, she doesn't waste pride. She knows what she does well, and she moves on to the next thing. If she's not good at something and it needs to be done, she'll find someone who is good at it. If she's the one doing something, that means she's the best bet to do it. Scathach: Scathach, on the other hand, is very smart, knows it, and does take pleasure in being one of the smartest... people, for lack of a better word, in the room. She's a tactician, more than anything else. There are different kinds of people needed for a war. You have the heroes, the great, wonderful idiots that go down in a blaze of glory and idiocy, but inspire people to dig inside themselves and do the exact same idiotic thing. You have the leaders, the ones that people look to for answers and will listen to even when the leaders give flimsy reasoning and back it up with logic based on feelings. You have the followers, the people who need to be told exactly what to do but are willing to do it to the death (and thank goodness there are so many of them around, because they really are necessary), and then you have the tacticians. The people who can think ten steps in advance and have contingency plans for contingency plans and back up for the secondary contingency plans just in case things go wrong and go to crap and the always bloody do. Scathach is a tactician. Together: Both Kata and Scathach speak with a dry tone of voice, so it's not always easy to know which one you're talking to. In dealing with Goa'uld, Kata will generally relinquish all control to Scathach, because she knows that Scathach is better for the situation than she is. Both have impassive expressions that give nothing away. Backstory: Katalana: Katalana was the oldest of five children, in a rough area of a rough city on a rough planet. Her parents went missing when she was somewhere between eight and twelve, not on the same day, and Kata didn't have to search for them to have a rough idea of what happened to them. She worked hard to keep her siblings together, safe and protected. Kata, as small as she was, was a scrapper, and she'd go out every day to bring back food, clothes, or medicine she'd stolen for her family that the needed. The second oldest, Kieran, would go out on the streets with her and help, and the two of them taught themselves how to pick pockets with ease, or help cause a distraction for the other to steal something from a market. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it worked for them. When Kata was nineteen, she and Kieran were caught when they tried to pick the pocket of a Tok'ra, though they didn't know that was what the old woman was, of course. Scathach and Elinora, her host, were impressed by Kata's determination to keep her family safe, and approached the tiny thief about Kata being Scathach's new host when Elinora died. Kata wasn't crazy about the idea, but saw it as the best way to give her siblings a better life and accepted. Kata had known for a long time that she was one of the most dangerous people in the neighborhood. She would come limping home with horrible injuries with only a small trophy to show for it, but to her, it was worth it. She didn't care what injuries she sustained, as long as it meant that she got something in return. As a result, she also didn't care what injuries she gave, as long as it meant she got something in return. No, she knew that she was about as safe as a hydrophobic cobra. But it also meant that she got results. Scathach: The Tok'ra had been wanting to have an agent of their own posing as a System Lord for some time. The problem was, the ones that were foolhardy enough to volunteer for it were usually stupid enough to get caught fairly quickly. Scathach was a Tok'ra with no small amount of brains or ambition, though, and she wanted to try her hand at the necessary subterfuge to get the cause more information. She was drilled in deception tactics thoroughly for years before she was sent to infiltrate and try to rise through the ranks of the System Lords. After a little over a century of hard work, she's managed to get as far as she has, but she's aware that her cover could be blown far easier than she would prefer.
