It's pretty simple and easy to get used to. Play with it for a few days and you'll master it. Basically, the only thing you need to change about your game settings is change your button layout to "Tactical". That way your crouch/drop is now R3 as opposed to the -O- button. Makes it easier to drop, harder to knife. Now, if you are a knifer, do not change your button layout.

While drop shooting, there are a couple of things you need to watch out for.

1) Panic Knives - Accidentally dropping with R3 because you forgot about your changed button layout. Immediately press -O- if you somehow get away from the panic knife.
2) Mis-shooting - When shooting, with R3 as your crouch, you might accidentally crouch when trying to head-shot somebody. You can easily solve this by not having much pressure on the R3 button.

Where should you start shooting before dropping? Easy. The chest. If you're aiming at the chest when you drop, you'll finish by shooting his/her abdomen.

That's practically all I have.

Tip requested by CJ.

Only appropriate time to drop-shot is when you're damn near face to face with your enemy. :P That way, he'll fire above your head as you drop and you have a clear advantage. If you're at a distance, and drop-shot, you are at a disadvantage because you typically end up firing at the ground while he has a clear shot at your head.

I've tried the tactical layout, but I'm definitely more of a knifer, so I think I'll just keep it as default. I can tell how useful it is though, both from seeing it done and having it done to me.

Again, it takes time. :P You'll be good enough at it soon enough. No use giving up. ^_^
