COMBAT Episode 4

Pierce Foley: Don't adjust your screen ladies and gents. Yes, Combat finally has commentary. I'm Pierce Foley and with me is our first special guest commentator, three time world champion, the man that will be in participating in the SCW Grandslam Tournament and recently signed to both RSPW and APW...."The Perfection" Tony Drake

Tony Drake: The one and only "Perfection" in professional wrestling. Often imitated, never duplicated. Tell Paul Wilson that he's half the man than I am! Also you forgot the fact that I'm hands down the best student Jay Champ has ever taught. Not Jesse Owusu or anyone else. Matter of fact, I'm better than my mentor and that's a fact!

Pierce Foley: Certainly. So it's only natural for you to be our first Combat's special guest commentator and it's a honour for having you here

Tony Drake: The pleasure is all mine. But tonight is not about me...tonight is about Champ Wrestling. Tonight is about Combat and truth be told, I love watching CW and I'm so glad that I'm the first special guest commentator for Combat. Now lets get this show on a roll!

"Cold" by Static X plays as the debuting siren Ksenia comes out with a voodoo doll that looks like Starla Asher. She cackles evilly and makes her way to the ring, freaking out the Canadian audience. Before entering the ring, she pulls out her infamous glass table with thumbtacks and caress it like its her lover. She then enters the ring and awaits for her opponent."Hate Me Now" by Nas blares out of the PA system as CCW Legend Joseph King comes out with unexpectedly alone. Of course there are few fans that are bowing down to Joseph. He has a microphone of his own. He states that his pupil Starla Asher has took her talents to the North and joining the new SCW fed BWL. He then states that he can't blame her since Jay Champ doesn't know how to utilize Starla's talents in the first place and she's better off wrestling for the British people than ungrateful Canadian noobs that doesn't know shit about this sport. Of course this generated huge heat from the fans as King heads backstage. Ksenia is pissed off and decides to turn her attention to the referee. She chokes the referee as the ref pleads her to stop. Ksenia stares deeply at the soul of the referee until suddenly "Chasing Fire" by Patrick Riza plays as the newly signed Tanya Jones comes out with a microphone. She challenges Ksenia to a match, which Ksenia accepts after letting go of the referee

Match One: Ksenia vs. Tanya Jones
It's ultra violent Ksenia versus tough as nails Tanya Jones and these two brought it. You would think they had a long story rivalry with each other based on the way they were beating each other to the delight of the fans. Oh no, it wasn't a catfight. It was a war! In the end, Tanya gets the victory when she hits Ksenia with the Acquiring the Target (Buzzsaw Kick) and the Bouncing Betty(Twist of Fate) for the 3 count.

Spoiler: click to toggle

The referee and Tanya gets the hell out of dodge after the match while Ksenia is left all alone in the ring. Ksenia grabs her Starla Asher voodoo doll and tore off the head of it before throwing it in her table. Ksenia then heads backstage while yelling out gibberish

Pierce Foley: Well that was an interesting debut between these two. Great opening match and in impressive victory for Tanya Jones

Tony Drake: I hope this Ksenia chick doesn't have a voodoo doll of me. I don't want bad omen...then again I'm Mr. Perfection and I never get bad omen

Pierce Foley: Indeed you are...indeed you are

"America" by Trey Parker plays as Keith Wiseau comes out eating a Krispy Kreme Maple Iced Glazed donut and drinking their Ice Coffee(NO this show is not sponsored by Krispy Kreme..). After finishing his donut, Keith wipes his hand on Marshall Brown shirt and demands a microphone. Keith brags about how much Krispy Kreme is better than Tim Hortons and claims that Tim Hortons is crap, which generated lot of boos because apparently dissing Tim Hortons makes you the most hated heel in Canada. “Move Your Feet” by Junior Senior plays as the former APW competitor Dunk energetically bursts out of the curtains with his girlfriend Penny Squire. Dunk cuts a promo saying that he loves Dunkin Donuts but Tim Hortons "is the shit" which results a huge pop from the fans(seriously<_<). Dunk then says that the reason why he left APW and came to CW because he wants a new start in his career and because he heard about the craze overTim Hortons Ice Capp and he wants to check it out. They bicker for a while until finally the referee starts the match

Match Two: Keith Wiseau vs. Dunk

Not learning his mistake from his matches against Evan Fong and Wayne Graham , Keith Wiseau once again underestimated his opponent Dunk which cost him. Several times Keith had the chance to pin Dunk for the three count, but instead he constantly bragged to the fans and even took the time to finish drinking his Krispy Kreme Ice Coffee(once again this show is not sponsored by KK even though that would be awesome). When Keith wasn't looking, Dunk took a sip of his Dunkacinno with the help of Penny before, "powering it up." After that Dunk hits a series of his signature moves to Keith like a damn mad man before ending Keith's misery with the Totally Caffeinated (630 Senton) for the three count

Spoiler: click to toggle

Tony Drake: Tonight got to be the night for the weirdos. I chose a great day to commentate

Pierce Foley: Yeah ugh..what a win for the debuting Dunk. Love him or hate him, but the fans LOVE him

Tony Drake: Dude is just as annoying as his friend Kumquat Kid and his legion of dweebs...wait who is that?!

An unknown man slide in the ring while Dunk was celebrating and before Penny could warn her boyfriend, the unknown man attacked Dunk from behind! The man then starts stomping on the downed Dunk as Penny cried out in horror. Some of the CW fans start to recognize the man and once the camera took a good glimpse of him, the identity of the man is revealed to be

Spoiler: click to toggle

Pierce Foley: Wait...that's Jacob Storm!

Tony Drake: Hey I know that guy. Didn't he used to wrestle in RSPW with his tag-ream partner Alex Creed?

Pierce Foley: Well former tag-team partner. He used to be part of the APW roster with Alex until he backstabbed Alex during the first episode of Ignition in a battle royal match for the APW UK Championship. We haven't seen Jacob Storm since that night. What he's doing here in CW???

Jacob Storm, making sure that Dunk is down, climbs up the turnbuckle. He poses and even blows a kiss to Penny before hitting the Heavy Rain(Shooting Star Press). Some of the fans popped for the nice highflying move while others boo the former Aerial Ascension member loudly. Jacob demands a microphone from Marshall Brown. He cuts a promo that we're now looking at the newest member of the CW roster and should now call him, "Mr. Wrestling" because he's a veteran in this game that basically invented wrestling for these ungrateful wrestling fans. He's tired of not getting the respect that he deserves while people cheer for disgraceful losers like Dunk that has no business in the ring. Jacob Storm leaves the ring while the fans jeer him. Jacob takes one look at Penny Squire and snatches the Dunkachinno from her as if it was his and walks to the back while the referee and a frightened Penny checks up on Dunk(nobody cared to look at Keith though..)

Match Three: Naga Dominion w/The Naga Raja vs. Next Generation

Before the match, The Naga Raja states that Kraitt received an "unholy" punishment for costing his team the victory and the Tag-team title shot at last CW(now named Legacy!) show. Naga Raja also states that their mission of getting the CW Tag-team championship is not over and they will rise once again. Next Generation comes out to a generic theme song and the crowd gives them a nice pop. The match itself was a solid tag-team match with Next Generation trying to get their first win while Naga Dominion trying to rebound from their heartbreaking loss. Naga Dominion were noticeably aggressive in the match and performed some questionable "heel" tactics whereas the crowd tries to will the underdog. In the end, when Alex Wyndham tunes up the music and signals for the World Most Wanted superkick(homage to his big brother Justin!) as the groggily Kraitt attempts to get on his feet, Taipan enters the ring illegally and the referee was quick to stop Taipan. However Kraitt dodged the Wyndham's superkick and this time hits his opponent with the Venom(green mist) which temporarily blinds Alex and gives Kraitt enough time to recover and hit Wyndham with his own superkick which is known as the Killer Strike. Before Mick Sky can break up the pin, Taipan prevents that from happening and hits Mick with the Killer Strike superkick as well. Krait pins Alex for the one two three.

Spoiler: click to toggle

The crowd gives Naga Dominion a mixed reaction(more boos than cheers) as Naga Raja celebrates with his boys before they head out back. Meanwhile Mick Sky holds his jaw in pain and tries to help his tag-team partner in his feet, but Alex pushes Mick away in frustration and leaves his ring on his own, leaving his own tag-team partner Mick rejected.

Pierce Foley: Aside from the questionable tactics and ending, great performance by the Naga Dominion as they attempt to get back on their feet and in the CW Tag-team title hunt

Tony Drake: Love them or hate them, Naga Dominion are out their to prove themselves that they are not just some weirdos, but a tag-team that is a force to be reckoned with. Also did you catch Justin and Freddie's little bro getting pissed at his own partner? Trouble in paradise maybe....

???: RUN..RUN....RUN....FOR YOUR LIFE!!!

Match Four: Juan Guerrero vs. Leon King

Leon King's name may be a pun to Lion King, but the true lion king of this jungle was the man that calls himself Rey Miedo(King of Fear) as he decimated our favourite luchador. Not much to talk about as Juan made Leon King tap out with the Guerrero Special(Gory Special). What is noteworthy after the match is when Juan puts Leon in a different submission Decir Mi Nombre -Say My Name(Camel clutch) and yells out, "MERTHER" reportedly while applying the deadly submission hold until several referees had to forcibly break the hold, Juan laughs hysterically and leaves the broken luchadoer behind

Spoiler: click to toggle

Tony Drake: Statement made!

Pierce Foley: This is the second time Juan has called out Merther. What does the Mexican Monster want with the Jamaican Hoss?

Tony Drake: The answer is so obvious that I'm not even going to answer it! Just wait and see

Main Event: Wayne Graham vs. Bobby Drake

It's a battle between two fan favourites as they pulled out a great main event. The crowd rooted for the both of them, but Wayne noticeably had more support from the fans just because he's a Canadian underdog(who says that Canadians aren't opposed to being bias?!) and this is one of those rare times where the crowd actually doesn't want Bobby Drake to win! Classic powerhouse versus. highflyer match with both competitors giving their all. In the end, Wayne set Bobby for the Canadian Destroyer, but Bobby back drops Wayne who lands on his feet. Wayne then runs to the ropes and looks for the springboard crossbody, but Drake MURDERS Wayne with the Clothesline from Hell!! "The Offering" by Drake was the icing on the cake as Drake pins Wayne Graham after hitting his Gorrila Press Slam turned into cutter finisher.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Pierce Foley: WHEW what a match!!!

Tony Drake: Even though i hate the British Choker, I can't deny that .Bobby is a phenomenal wrestler and tonight he actually didn't choke in the main event! Great match from these two. I will see alot of potential in Wayne Graham. I picked a great time to commentate for CW. Welp, I have a flight to Japan to catch. Till next time Canada, Mr. Perfection out!

After the match, Bobby helps Wayne to his feet and they shook hands as a show of respect for one another. Wayne allows Bobby to celebrate as the crowd cheers for both of them loudly before the show ends.

Really enjoyed reading show, love how you incorporated the Supershow into the episode.
Seems that with BWL now in play that some of the talent is moving about and with the supershow on the horizon, it seems we might see more of the talent on the roster move around the shows in the next few weeks.

TIME TO WRITE A GOLDEN COMBAT REVIEW, BABEY!!!

Tony Drake - Drake being guest commentator was great. Not only was he great on this show but it also helps me understand him a bit more, and seeing as he is on APW now that helped me loads.

Match One: Ksenia vs. Tanya Jones - Great debut win for Tanya Jones. I feel like Jones offers up something different from some of the other women. Although, I swear she used to have a different photobase. Her old one was some MMA women who loaded hard as nails. The visual image of someone really helps them for me, but Charlottle Church photobase I isnt as good as the old one. I might be wrong and its always been Charlotte Church. I just cant imagine her as this kick ass fighting machine so it kind of makes Tanya Jones seem less impressive and less of a threat in my eyes. I feel like getting the right photobase for the image of a character is pretty much the most important parts of a character. I will stop babbling now, Here's hoping for good things with Jones in the future.
Now, Ksenia, even though she lost it doesnt really matter to much at the moment because this help build her character. I like the uniqueness she has.

Match Two: Keith Wiseau vs. Dunk - Wiseauis such a tool. As per usual he loses due to his own fault. Dunk gets the win. Glad he is doing well in Canada. I was kind of left with a hole in my storyline when Nick decided to pull Dunk from APW, good job I had already been talking to Mat about bring in Champ Cassidy. Hopefully Dunk can continue in winning fashion here. I want to see Justin Paler meet Penny. There's a storyline for you Jimmy!

Jacob Storm - When Jimmy asked me if he could take Storm he wasnt doing anything so I said yeah. I thought he would probably just job. But Jimmy has come up with an awesome looking storyline for him. i love the approach you have taken with him. This Mr. Wrestling persona you have created is going to work brilliantly on him. I'm excited to see what you got planned for him.

Match Three: Naga Dominion w/The Naga Raja vs. Next Generation - I love the way that you write Naga Dominion. You really understand them. I know I keep saying this about them but I think it's great. I didnt think anyone else would see the potential because they are really gimmicky but you are definitely doing them justice.
Was that a bit of dissention in the ranks at the end there with Next Generation? Hmmm.

Match Four: Juan Guerrero vs. Leon King - Poor Leon, one day you will make it, but for now, you shall just be destroyed by Jaun Guerrero! interesting to see Guerrero calling out Merther. He keeps doing that. There is a saying 'You keep knocking on the devils door, and eventually he will answer'. That is exactly have Juan is wanting and when it happens there is going to be an epic brawl.

Main Event: Wayne Graham vs. Bobby Drake - Great pairing for this main event. Send the fans home happy whoever wins. So Bobby Drake gets a win, which I feel was needed because Maximus and Frost have been costing him matches. I liked the fact that the main event was just two good wrestlers putting on a good show and shaking hands afterwards.

Overall - Great show. Did exactly what Combat is meant to do for you, moved on some storylines and helped establish and add some depth to other characters.
Well done good Sir! Now go and buy yourself some cookies, and then eat the whole packet. You deserve it!

So my boy, Jimmeh, has been asking (demanding, sheesh!) that I leave a review of Combat, and who am I to deny my African American, maple syrup loving, Mountie chasing brethren what he desires? Here we go with 6 Things On Combat That Made Nicky D Go Hmm

Tony Drake: Always loved the character, and can’t wait to see more of him in RSPW and AXW, but man, he was pretty good in the color commentator spot, perhaps a job for him after he hangs up the boots?

Ksenia: I sincerely hope this character is developed well because I’m all for batshit crazy chicks.

Dunk: Yeah I know I pulled the plug way too soon in APW with him, but it really did take me time to come to grips with the way things were done here, appreciating it a bit more. Now that I have, the truth is, as awesome as Drake is, I wanted to give Jimmy a crack at the character and he’s done a great job so far. Jacob Storm is awesome as well. Love seeing these new characters develop, others getting their first real shot at stardom.

Naga Dominion/New Generation: What never ceases to amaze me is how well constructed tag team divisions are in any brand related to our communities, and CW is no different. This match had a nice old school feel to it, and while Dominion looking strong is worth noting, I felt not as much as the inevitable demise of The New Generation we are seeing right before our eyes.

Juan Guerrero/Leon King: First off, Leon King makes me want to bring Pyrostar back somewhere, honestly. Secondly, Juan Guerrero looks like a beast of a submission specialist and I’m all for that.

Bobby Drake/Wayne Graham: I’m familiar with both, but Drake a bit more, who I have always been a huge fan of. This was a solid face against face match up that had something for everybody, but in the end, the power and skill of Drake is undeniable and he ends the show with a win despite both guys giving it their all.

A solid show, Jimmeh, and man, I really want to delve back into this community because now that I understand it a bit more, and I’m not an impatient dickhole (sorry, Drake) I have some decisions to make.
