Warlord Name: Lord Alchemist Cain of Salaeman Age: 32 Gender: Male Appearance: Cain dresses as pictured above, completely covered from top to bottom. IN addition to what is pictured above he wears a falchion across his left hip and his left hand is covered by a decorative steel bracer. He wears a belt containing a multitude of vials around his waist. He walks upright his eyes constantly scanning for information on his surroundings. While he is at festival or feast he discards his mask. His face looks healthy but lacks any real tone due to his mask. He has two green eyes and short cut red hair. He holds hygiene to a high standard and bathes as much as possible when off the battlefield. The stench of incense permeates all his clothing, causing him to have a very unique smell. Biography: Cain was born into a family of travelling medicine merchants working for the prince lands for battle supplies. His father, Valten, was the largest medicine distributor under the prince lands and the king's personal doctor. Because of this Cain spent much time around the castles of the prince lands learning the traditions of the nobility. His father was granted lordship and retired when Cain was 20. Cain soon became infatuated with science and began experimenting with various chemical compounds and the process of crafting weapons. At the age of 25 he made his first meaningful discovery, a coating for blades with greatly increased the integrity of their cutting edges. The king was impressed by the research and appointed Cain to the castle's research team. For the next few years he worked his way up to head of research under the service of the king, bringing new technologies to the battlefield and surrounding lands. He was happy with his position except for one thing, he wasn't close to the king. The whole point of climbing the ranks was to eventually earn himself a lordship to secure him land of his own and a title. But researchers didn't spend much time with the king himself, only advisors and generals. Hoping to garner some attention he fought countless duels and partook in a few battles with great success, but the king had his eyes on other things. The years were passing by and he needed to get the lordship however possible. He thought for a long time and finally decided on what to do. He set off to his father's estate. After visiting his father and making sure he was asleep, he slipped a few drops of poison into his drinking cup and left. Two days later he was informed of the tragic demise of his father. Being the next in line, Cain obtained the title of lord and his property, he remained in service of the king and transformed the property into a research lab. In addition to the new land he was contacted by the king's assistant that they needed a new arena master for the northern prince lands. Cain gladly accepted, excited to be able to study the art of combat in person. Personality: Cain is obsessed with obtaining new knowledge and applying it on the battle field. Anything that could improve his knowledge he becomes obsessed with it. Whether it be a new way of forging blades or a new battle tactic. Learning comes first with him. Although he comes off as eccentric, his personality is energetic and makes him seem easy to get along with, as long as he doesn't go off on one of his tangents. He thinks of battle not as a brutal struggle, but as a mathematical problem. When he's not overseeing a regiment he's acting as a tournament master for Northern Prince land Battle Arena. Cain acts as a private doctor to some of the higher lords on the battle field when they are harmed. Leadership style/ tactical preferences: He doesn't personally have a regiment but he does occasionally oversee one if he is asked. Since he is used to many types of regiments his commanding tactics vary. He usually depends on the respect of his soldiers in combat. His commanding skills are average at best but his advanced weapon modifications makes his units fierce to battle against. Specialties: Liquid Flame: Cain carries a flask of liquid flame on him at all times. The chemical is a trademark of Cain, making him feared by many armored units on the battlefield. Liquid flame doesn't have anything to do with fire, it's actually an extremely strong acid and a tendency to light cloth on fire. The fires caused on enemies are what named the acid. The Despite its name, liquid flame is much hotter than regular fire. The solution can quickly melt through traditional steel. The only materials that Cain knows the material can't melt through are glass and black steel, an acid resistant steel variant. Because of that reason, unless he spends time commissioning a black steel blade, only he can use the material on his weapon. It's a common practice for him to fill glass spheres with the liquid and throw them at the enemy, burning through their shields and armor. He only carries a small amount in his flask so it generally has only about 3 uses before he has to restock at his lab. The solution starts rapidly loses potency after being deployed, meaning that it usually doesn't end up touching flesh after burning through armor, so it takes about two bombs to take down a single armored opponent. Alchemist's Hand: Cain wears a special gauntlet on his left hand allowing him to block a majority of melee attacks without a shield. The gauntlet is specially crafted to reduce kinetic energy and the strength of blows. The gauntlet also has a small blade on the top of it, allowing for it to act as a punch dagger of sorts. Although he prefers to dodge attacks the Alchemist's Hand allows for him to deflect enemies attacks and assists in disarming enemies when he needs to. The Alchemist's hand is made of black steel and is not affected by liquid flame. Wisp of the Battlefield: Besides his Gauntlet Cain wears no armor on his body. Unless he blocks it with his gauntlet or sword the blow is going to get through to his flesh. Although wearing no armor leaves him open to attack it has its advantages. Without armor he can dart in and out of engagements, striking and dodging without the burden of steel plates. His speed and mobility makes him fierce on the battle field and earned him the name Wisp of the Battlefield.
