Hey guys, I was thinking that we need some radios to be more effective as a team and to be more professional in general. It makes sense that if we do all get radios we should just get good ones. Puxings seem to be the best out there. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/px-777-5w-10km-400-470mhz-rechargeable-walkie-talkies-with-backlighted-lcd-110-120v-ac-15295 http://www.dealextreme.com/p/kenwood-kmc-17-heavy-duty-speaker-micphone-w-earphone-jack-106859 Overall, I think we should consider this as an option for comms. |

I think there should be a number of us with comms. As it stands right now, Reaver and I both have radios as well as a decent amount of radio experience. Because of our low numbers currently, I would imagine it being a bit redundant for all of us to carry them around. In my experience, the more people on Comms chatter, the more confusing everything is to follow. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only person who should be on comms in a squad is the SL, who should in turn be in contact with the other SL's as well as the command element of the team. I could see having a backup comms person being useful in a situation where the SL has been taken out. Also, one might say that it would be beneficial for all members of a squad to be listening to radio chatter in order to act more efficiently. But as of right now, due to our numbers, it would most likely be more suitable for the SL to brief the rest of the unit on updates in order to avoid complications that having as many radios as people could cause. |
