So basically since I won Pat Burrell, who I don't mind winning, and didn't think I was going to win but since Astros went over the cap, he's mine. Once I win Carlos Delgado, I am going to be over the cap by like 7 or so million.

Well then you will get what Astros did, a cap hit and the last legal bid will win him.

These two guys should be a reminder that if you do not have money to spend and you go beyond your means if you win them all then there is a penalty for it which is why guys should not have 5 or so bids on different players if you dont have the money to cover them all if you happen to win them all.

Or you can hope someone out bids you for Carlos Delgado.

Well I'll take the thingy because crap happens basically, but I just want to say, never ever did I bid more than I had.

Only had I been out bid by Stros for Burrell did I place that huge bid on Delgado. Stros placed an illegal bid on Burrell which made my bid for Carlos illegal. Whatever.

I know at all times how much money I have on the table, but it's whatever.

I am not saying it was done intentional or anything, but we can't not give the hit because it states in the rules if you go over your cap there is a penalty.

Technically Astros bid was legal when it was placed, but it become illegal when he started winning other bids and then was a little short to win Burrell, talking probably less than 500k short.

Delgado still has about an hour, maybe you will get lucky.

I will talk to Steve and see if there is anything else we can work out Matt because looking at it, you have some valid points in that you wouldnt have gone over the cap had Astros not gone over his and caused the domino effect with Burrell and Delgado.

there is no way that the A's should get penalized for someone elses mistake. It is completly unreasonable to expect every team to follow evey other teams, salary cap implications. The A's bid on Delgado should be resinded or both the Burrell bidding should be restarted instead of awarded to the A's.

That could be an option as well Cubs, if he does not want Burrell and rather have Delgado that is something we could look at as well, but we would probably have to completely restart the Burrell bidding if that was the case.

Not sure what we would do with Delgado.

I am still not sure why A's was going after Delgado anyway with Giambi/Barton at 1B.

well why not give him to me! i was the next low bid and i have the money to take the contract! i was 400k from gettin him with my last offer which i counted wrong! my bid was 4 years 12 million NTC! then he topped it with the 4 year 13.5 so why not drop it down one more and make it mine!

This was all started when you went over your cap on Burrell and had to take a cap hit, so not sure what your exactly asking for here.
