Well Joey, in the PM I just sent you I explained that I have no problem with Option 2. Earlier I was just giving AstrosGM a bad time about being against it just to piss him off.

Here is how this should go down, to make it the most fair for everyone involved.

- Pat Burrell was won by AstrosGM, but that put him over the cap, so therefore he goes to next in line Bidder which is Me(A'sGM) and Astros GM takes the cap hit that he got.

- Carlos Delgado was won by A'sGM, but that put him over the cap, so therefore he goes to next in line Bidder which is MarinersGM, and A'sGm takes the cap hit.

Which is what I just said :D

For some reason I thought Spin was too but he was not listed here, maybe it was due to non-confirmed at the time of its posting.

Nope.

I have always been a member of the TAB and a moderator since the inception of Squeeze.

It is an oversight.
Just like the constitution still says we have an $80 million salary cap.

It seems the situation is solved...but persoanlly I would have re-opened the bidding on those 2 players.

Steve will be around soon enough to make his official ruling.
He just sent me a trade offer last night.

First off. AstrosGM and PadresGM I see where you are coming from as far as me having a lot of money on the table, but I was just trying to keep both players alive in bidding. You guys are both seem to be amateurs at these kind of leagues, because I've been in them for about 5 years now. So you learn how to work Free Agency, then you can complain about how I was bidding.

Because if you look at it, I would have never ended up in Cap trouble had StrosGM been better at handling his money.

And if Option 3 happens. I am out of this league. Sorry, But I deserve the right to have one of these players, battling in Free Agency for them. Cap hit or not.

Option 1 and 2 is whatever, if you guys vote for that, fine.

I do agree with MetsGM, Option 2 is the closest to being fair.

Option 3 = Find a new A's gm, because that is just ridiculous. Shouldn't even be an option. And Joey, you know that. Your fucking me over big time.

Tell me how you deserve players that you did not have the high bid on for 24 hours. Its bullshit to give these players to these teams because they threaten to quit. What if i threaten to quit because of this ruling, will there all of a sudden be another change of mind?

Fact is both teams fucked up. Your not suppose to go over your cap when bidding. Open the bids back up for 24 hours, to where the players who bidded correctly can earn them.

PhilliesGM, nice try    . But I did have the top bid for Carlos Delgado for 24 hours. So we can open Pat Burrell back up and give me Carlos? Hahaha.

Makers I am far from an amateur at these types of leagues. I have been playing fantasy baseball for around 10 years now.

I also feel both of these owners should not be dictating their own punishment. A vote was put before the league, and the league should decide.

PadresGM, I absolutely agree with you 100%.

No where near am I dictating my own punishment, I am just arguing for what I think is right.

Ruling

Makers is willing to take the hit for Delgado, therefore, there is really no reason to debate this anymore.

Pat Burrell is awarded to makers, Astros takes a cap hit for Burrell.

Carlos Delgado is awarded to Mariners, makers takes a cap hit for Delgado.

All is right in the world.

Steve will be along in a few to confirm provide his thoughts.

Recap:

Astros: Cap Hit For Burrell
Makers: Cap Hit For Delgado

Burrell to Makers
Delgado to Mariners

Which was my initial ruling anyway.

I strongly feel that the bidding should be re-opened on both of these players. I was still in on the bidding for Burrell too, but once I saw the Astros go to 15,000,000 I stopped. So for him to be simply awarded at $13,500,000 is not fair to others who were bidding on him. Same with Delgado. I seriously doubt bidding on Delgado would have gone as high as it has if Makers had won Burrell. The simplest and the fairest to all involved is to simply start over on those two players.

Look at the bidding history on Burrell, I had been bidding on him all along, Makers comes in and makes 1 bid that puts him over the cap, and he gets awarded the player? That is fair and a good solution for the league? Wow.

Makers went over on DELGADO not Burrell.

That is not true. While he held the high bid of $14,000,000 on Delgado, he then place his bid on Burrell of $13,500,000. That was the bid that put him over.

It's okay Padres...The Commish will work this out.

Your points are extremely valid and could be applied to the DelGado situation as well.

It looks like the simplist solution is to re-open the 2 threads for 24 hours...with the highest bids before this fiasco in the lead.

As far as me placing one bid on Pat Burrell, I had been watching him all along, seeing how high he would get. He wasn't that high, so I put my money in on him.

John, I love you dude, but that is the just the dumbest solution!! The simplest solution is to follow the rules, and go by what Joey has already set in place and we are just waiting for BrewersGm to confirm.

I would also like to point out, the two guys who are pushing for a Re-Opening of the Players, are two GM's who were pushing and bidding for these guys.

Spin = Delgado
Padres = Burrell

They didn't get what they wanted in FA, so they just want a chance at these guys.
