I still can't believe it's not butter!

What was the last awkward situation that happened to you, or a situation that was awkward for you.

For me, it has to be today when I was at work. I had to leave a bit early to catch the bus, so I took my cash register draw and with one of the managers, we went to the back.
The rest of the managers were in the office, next to the cash room where cashiers count the money.
Well, there was a huge argument going on in the office, so when me and the one manager got there, it was hectic and even though we had just gotten there and it had nothing to do with us, they were still arguing and it was very awkward and made me incredibly uncomfortable. I'm the kind of person that kind of takes on emotions of others, so after that I just felt very sad.. and I still do... which is annoying since it's been two hours and I have this feeling of sadness, even though I had nothing to do with it.. and it keeps replaying in my mind. It's driving me insane...
But the whole thing was just awkward ,you'd think they would have stopped arguing for a second because people who had nothing to do with it were just passing through.

Awkward huh? I've got an awkward situation for ya. My husband & I moving into our new home and I don't tell this 'friend' of mine where we move too because all this person does is talk over me and disrespect me. But to my chagrin this arse hat decides to meet my husband at work ever single week to talk to him; & keep in contact with him even though I've told my husband how I feel about this person & that I don't want this person in our lives any more; but he still talks to this person anyway. So one day I had to go with my husband to work to pick up some juice and milk since we ran out. I saw this person and called them out for stalking my husband. How's that for awkward? Yea and they completely denied it saying that they were just trying to be friendly & I told the person no a friend doesn't stalk you to work; you are stalking in my book so quit it. Which worked for all of a good two weeks which this person did stay away for; but they came back to their stalker ways after the two weeks finished anyway. -_- *sigh*

I am wondering if me being socially awkward would be considered an awkward situation?

Sometimes I babble like an idiot because I don't know what to say, it makes everything awkward.

I know this kinda isn't a "situation" but I find it REALLY awkward when someone I have not seen in a long time (and when I say long I mean like 6 years) facebook messages me a friend request also saying they want to get together on a specific date.

I was in a good mood that day, so I was like "K" and accepted.

That was two weeks ago. The date was 1 week ago last weekend.

Then I get a message all, "OH SORRY. Wanna get together this weekend to make up for it?"

Im like *Mental Head-slap* ¬_¬"

I still don't know how to answer him, it's awkward for me because, we were actually pretty good friends back then, and I don't know though if he's changed or not from then or why he hasn't contacted me sooner XD

Also another funny awkward moment I had, I was in the passenger seat of a car with my Aunt, and we pulled up and stopped at a red light, this truck owned by the city pulls up on one side of us, and a second truck on the opposide side (we in the middle lane) and the guy on the left YELLS "TRAITORS!!!!" to the second Truck O___O

I couldn't help it, I started laughing and my Aunt did too and the guy like GLARED at us, were like "Uh sorry it's just.....Sorry" hes like "No, it's...Were joking you know like..."

Then the light changed and we all got the hell outta there! LOL

How about arriving at a Best Buy looking for someone you meant to meet who you knew from online but forgot to ask for a picture of what they looked like before you arrived? xD Talk about awkward!

I don't know if this is awkward, but I bumped into an old friend from college at work yesterday. We didn't get to talk for long, but when I got home I sent them a message on facebook and said we should totally hang out soon if they wanted to.. I also said how I was going to be getting a new phone soon.
So I was thinking they would answer even if they didn't want to hang out and what not...
So today I logged on to facebook and I didn't have a message from them, but facebook has a feature that tells you if the other person saw the message or not.. and it says they read it but they didn't even bother to respond at all... and this person has done this before when I asked them a question about a loan company... They don't seem to respond to me at all on facebook.. and I'm starting to wonder if they even consider me a friend... I don't know if I should even bother.

Sounds to me like this "friend" doesn't consider you very important impo. If I were you; I just wouldn't bother any more if it were me.

I don't really call a lot of people friends. I believe the vast majority are acquaintances, and while I'm in uni or work or whatever I'll talk to these people, have a laugh with them, maybe even spend the odd bit of time with them outside the place I know them from. However at the end of the day if they decide to not bother with me, it doesn't bother me as they weren't friends. I have a handful of friends that I've known between 10 and 14 years and they'll be my friends for life.
