(05/19/14 20:15:55 ) [.One of Many.] V A L I A VOLSTAGG'S WOMAN |.MERCHANT OF SULPORT.| [-Volstagg’s Compound-] A secluded Compound behind the Hall of Sulport. The compound itself is mostly hidden by two large warehouses. A guarded iron gate sits between them, leading into the bottle neck entrance of the compounds garden. The building is erected around the edge of the concrete garden on a square foundation, offering space and privacy to all within its walls. says to ALL: I observed each stone alone and then in groups. Had I any idea what the stone would be used for, I would know how better to choose. All of the gems were raw, unfinished. And though each was pretty, I knew that the true beauty could not be revealed until the stones had been cut and polished. I tried to picture in my mind each finished stone. Still...the images evaded me. I closed my eyes then, allowing my fingers to draw all the stones into a single pile and mix them up. With eyes closed, I picked up each stone in turn, holding it in my closed fist. I felt the weight of the stone, how it reacted to my skin before selecting another from the mix. The last stone I held, warmed in my hand. It was a solid stone, heavy and substantial in my hand. I dared to open my eyes and within the cup of my palm I held a bloodstone, or hematite as it was known to some. There were many superstitions attributed to the bloodstone, if one believed in such things. By tradition, it was said to hold the element of fire, having a grounding or calming effect on the wearer. It was thought, by some, that it would warn the wearer of danger by warming. I did not know if such things could be true. But it was a dark stone of silvery black.....it would then be my choice. The remaining stones were then secreted back into the velvet purse before being tucked away into the puzzle box. http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2014/133/8/6/simple_hematite_necklace_by_chaosfay-d7i8rhv.jpg |

The stone is surrendered... (06/15/14 18:12:42 ) .V O L S T A G G of S U L P O R T. First Comes Anarchy, Then Comes Me [-Arena-] Is watching a clash of steel or dancing with death upon the golden sands where heroes fall and Legends are born. says to [.One of Many.]V A L I A: -I heard your words, but I said nothing in response to them, I drew towards the railing and peered down, my back to you now, unless you followed. I watched one of the slaves come out and skewer a meat hook through the foot of a dead fighter before using the attached chain to drag it away across the sands. I moved on from your 'trip' without questioning it. I knew what I knew, as Did You and I let it be filed away in the past. When I spoke again, My tone was light and seemingly relaxed.- ”You owe Me a stone.” -Two groups of two fighting slaves came out next. Each side had a single trident to share and the trainer cracked his whip, signalling for them to begin. I watched it – but only idly, my mind drawn to other matters- (06/15/14 18:26:52 ) [.One of Many.] V A L I A VOLSTAGG'S WOMAN |.MERCHANT OF SULPORT.| [-Arena-] Is watching a clash of steel or dancing with death upon the golden sands where heroes fall and Legends are born. says to .V O L S T A G G of S U : As you stood facing the sands at the railing, I remained momentarily as I was, to watch you. The swift roving of my gaze took in the sight of you and how you armed yourself on this day. Delicate, fine boned hands fell to perch upon the edge of that railing as I stepped to your right side. I was not one to slouch over or lean lazily. Instead the beautiful lines of the garment were enhanced by the strict posturing, held with a natural ease as I stood beside you. My gaze shifted to track the movement of the entering slaves. "I've chosen a stone, though it is in my room. Had I known I would see you, I would have brought it with me." The mild conversation helped to reel in the emotion you had stirred, calming the storm that had risen in my mind. I watched the slaves, wondering how they could manage such a fight while sharing a single weapon. (06/15/14 18:33:05 ) .V O L S T A G G of S U L P O R T. First Comes Anarchy, Then Comes Me [-Arena-] Is watching a clash of steel or dancing with death upon the golden sands where heroes fall and Legends are born. says to [.One of Many.]V A L I A: -Had I been a man of humour, I would have scoffed at Your words, but I did slice an accusing glance in your direction.- ”Perhaps you Would see me if you did not vanish as often.” -Yes, it was a dig, a retort delivered to words that I felt could have been better spoken.. I saw the fight below begin and it started messy with one of the fighters immediately driving those barbed prongs of his trident through the eyes of another. But my interest was fleeting and I straightened up, letting my left hand sweep towards the archway of the Arena.- “We will go get it Now.” -You were free to remain here if you wished. And I would go on alone to retrieve it, plundering your room in the process. So it was up to you and I stared at you in pending silence, waiting for you to get to walking.- (06/15/14 18:50:23 ) [.One of Many.] V A L I A VOLSTAGG'S WOMAN |.MERCHANT OF SULPORT.| [-Arena-] Is watching a clash of steel or dancing with death upon the golden sands where heroes fall and Legends are born. says to .V O L S T A G G of S U : Your words were ripe with accusation and as such, the almond shape of those eyes would narrow as my face turned in your direction so very slowly. My tongue trailed deliberately slow across the smooth skin of my lower lip as I exhaled a deep breath. "I would see you more..........if you wanted it." I'd see you only as much as you -allowed- and that was the true fact of the matter. A small smile managed to curve upon my lips before I drew back from the railing and turned towards the archway of the Arena. I managed a swift and yet elegant stride, the line of my body held in a prideful manner as I swept away from you as you stood staring in silence. The darkness of lazy waves billowed around me and the draping material of my robes swayed with the tandem motion of my body. The kiss of sunlight reflected in shades of ink from the obsidian strands while gleaming from the pristine white of the robes. There was grandeur and beauty in even that simple movement as I strode away...almost angry and such emotion revealed itself charmingly on delicate features. (06/15/14 18:59:53 ) .V O L S T A G G of S U L P O R T. First Comes Anarchy, Then Comes Me [-Streets-] Along one of the many busy Streets where the shops never seem to close and crowds never fade. says to [.One of Many.]V A L I A: -It was now two against one down below. Two Red, One Blue. The Red with the trident stood on the corpses body to get leverage and tear his trident free of the skull. The last remaining blue didn't want that to happen and charged him, shoving him backwards whilst trying to claim the trident for him. The second -unarmed- Red, sucker punched him with a powerful uppercut that ruptured something internally. The Blue stumbled backwards and that dirty Red knelt over him, grasping his neck and proceeding to headbutt him over and over agin... not even bothering to stop when brain matter smeared his face... this brutal show of murder had the crowd on their feet and cheering wildly... Sulportians were a blood thirsty bunch, even if most of them liked to pretend otherwise. I was known for my habit of spilling blood... And I was only too happy to admit that I enjoyed it.- -But I saw none of this. Instead I was processing your words and scowling at the back of your head. I followed swiftly, catching up and coming around to Your left side. Placing you at -My- right side. We would pass through the archway and out onto the streets, my right hand rising to find the small of your back in a firm press that guided you through the parting crowds. I let the 'bickering' be left behind in the stadium- ”Have you managed to find a buyer for that marsh tharlarion hide yet?” -I was curious to see how much You would manage to get for it. Only You and I knew the true depth of how it came into My possession.- (06/15/14 19:17:39 ) [.One of Many.] V A L I A VOLSTAGG'S WOMAN |.MERCHANT OF SULPORT.| [-Streets-] Along one of the many busy Streets where the shops never seem to close and crowds never fade. says to .V O L S T A G G of S U : The crescendo of the crowds cries echoed like a pulse, filling the arena with the rhythmic chanting of many voices so that it seemed to be the very heart-beat of the city itself. Whatever had happened on the sands, was beyond me now as quick steps launched me through that archway and onto the streets of Sulport. Of course, my stride was no match for yours and with sudden clarity you were simply there, at my left side and I to your right. My gaze remained focused, straight ahead. When the weight of your hand came to rest upon the small of my back, it was difficult for me not to look at you, the guiding press of your hand calmed me despite that I rallied against it. I steeled myself to keep my eyes front, the jut of a dainty chin lifted defiant with such a challenge. Unaware of how you'd slipped past every single defense I had ever erected, I could only brood silently...and even that was slowly ebbing away. Without even trying, you were as relentless as the tides. "As of yet, I have not. The hide hasn't been taken down to the office yet. Soon though, since I know your men have hopefully finished the....renovations." I had no wish to bring up the fire, the smoke damage and everything that was tied to that unfortunate incidence. Inevitably, my face would turn towards you and despite myself, a smile ghosted the lines of my lips. You had made those arrangements for me and returned to me the ring that even now decorated the index finger of my right hand. The tapered of those fingers curled slightly, my thumb played over the smooth metal of the ring habitually. My eyes snapped back to front as I smoothed the dark wave of hair back from my face. Those eyes of jade shimmered with the brilliance of a diamond, my gaze shifted over the faces as we passed through the city. I noted the people were quicker to clear from your path, making our walk that much faster. (06/15/14 19:25:57 ) .V O L S T A G G of S U L P O R T. First Comes Anarchy, Then Comes Me [-Streets-] Along one of the many busy Streets where the shops never seem to close and crowds never fade. says to [.One of Many.]V A L I A: -We would pass by the stone steps which lead up to the Hall. Donar's skull shimmered on its roof in the coming moonlight. You would notice that another head now sat beside it on a shorter spike. That skull was not quite as clean. Chunks of flesh and scalp still clung desperately to the bone in its rotting state. But the black birds of Sulport had picked the eye sockets clean and the remains of a scavenged tongue hung through a gaping hole in its cheek. You would also notice that the axe at my hip was clean. A task I usually preferred you to do. Perhaps I was bitter about the fact that your absence had forced me to do it myself.- ”Savitar updated me on the state of your office this morning in fact.” -My words stopped there and we continued past the hall and along a path that took us behind it towards a quieter area of town, close to the cliffs. We approached the two warehouses that you should now be familiar with and lead down the alleyway that sat in between. Benamei – a New guy - was one duty. He was a large Man, not as large as me, but Benamei had once stood as a slave of the Salt Mines until he had killed his way to Freedom. His nose was currently severely damaged and covered in stitches. He unlocked the gate and swung it open, I pushed you on through.- -We would cross the brazier lit stone garden and my gaze would fall towards a certain spot. I had realised some time ago that something was missing and I was biding my time until I crossed paths with a certain peasant. Let you go into the compound first, my hand finally leaving you as I allowed you to lead the way to your Room.- (06/15/14 19:56:08 ) [.One of Many.] V A L I A VOLSTAGG'S WOMAN |.MERCHANT OF SULPORT.| [-Volstagg’s Compound-] A secluded Compound behind the Hall of Sulport. The building is erected around the edge of the concrete garden on a square foundation, offering space and privacy to all within its walls. says to .V O L S T A G G of S U : The blue of the days sky had ebbed away to shades of night. The light of the tri-moons were brilliant, reflecting from the ivory shades of the skull at the top of the hall but what had drew my attention was the addition of another head. Scavenging birds had not been kind, enjoying the feast of eyes and decaying flesh so that what was left was far from pretty. It was the protrusion of the tongue, almost lewdly, from the gaping remains of the cheek that sent my eyes to seek something....anything...else to look at. Your mention of the office did garner my attention and that roving gaze settled momentarily on you once more. My lips pressed together at the naming of Savitar, I would likely never trust that man. But you said nothing more, leaving me that much more curious about the state of things. Accustomed to the path we were taking, I thought nothing of the silence that befell us as we rambled towards the gate of the compound. The alley was quiet and the stones lining that snaking path reflected back the warmth of the days sun. My gaze had travelled ahead of us in a precursory glance only to be drawn to that new face that waited at the gate. The descretion of a free woman was an artform. I took in his face and the lines of his body with barely glance, the injuries to his face only fully realized as you so kindly pushed me beyond the gates. It was good I wasn't prone to accidents, lest the toe of my sandal catch on an ill-placed paver and I lose my footing. Instead, that regal gait was easily adjusted to that gentle guidance and I regained my natural stride as if I had been expecting it. My steps whispered over the inlaid white stones of the courtyard, the glow of braziers enhanced by the reflective brilliance of those stones made it darkly enchanting. A breeze played over the crimson flutter of petals, carrying the light fragrance of flowers aloft. The corridors of the compound were many, arranged in a manner to confuse anyone unfamiliar with the twists and turns, the halls lined with doors that all seemed so very similar to the other so that you could easily be lost among them. Such was not the case for me...anymore. I paused only long enough to open the door and step within my room, the door was drawn open and left so that you could enter if you chose too. My room was aptly sized. The sleeping couch was draped neatly in furs against the far wall below the window. A low table was at the center of the room and behind the door was the large dressing table with mirror. A wardrobe sat just beside that table and if opened would be well stocked with various garments. It was to the low table I lent, where the puzzle box sat. From its top compartment I withdrew the stone of hematite. Its surface was like that of a mirror, silvery-black in hue and reflective. How quickly it absorbed the warmth of my flesh. I turned then to face you, closing whatever distance there might be between us and lifted my left hand to you. My fingers uncurled to reveal the stone, large enough to fill the cup of my palm. "Going to tell me what you have planned for it?" I did not think you would but this would not stop me from inquiring. My gaze dropped from your face to the stone in my hand. I should not have been surprised to find you so close behind me but such would be revealed in the wide-eyed stare that regarded you now. The stone itself wasn't without imperfection and yet it was darkly beautiful. It didn't seem a common stone; I liked it unusal reflective cast and the silvery-black of its finish that glistened as if wet. It was deceptively simple in its beauty. And there was some superstition about the stone itself, while neither here nor there, I could appreciate. Sharp eyes watched you as you assessed the stone. "It is the one I choose." I confirmed with a slight nod in addition to my spoken words. I looked around the room for a brief moment but inevitably, my gaze settled within yours.- “Sell the rest then. Perhaps you will find a buyer for them at the fair, along with the tharlarion hide.” -I had not finished arranging the plans for the convoy just yet but I would be limiting the number of convoys in the wagon. For sake of security on the journey. I would assign you three wagons with which I expected you to fill with goods from your warehouse to sell whilst at the fair. I was a Northerner and the Priest Kings could suck my cock for all I cared. I saw the fair as nothing but a means to profit and benefit Sulport. Perhaps whilst there I would visit the -Tent- again.- ”The locks to your office have been changed, so yours will no longer work. I will give you a key when I show you the small changes that have been made to the place... but for now... for your own safety... I must insist you stay away from it.” -We would cross that bridge after the fair. But for now – I had the stone and there appeared to be no other reason for me to stay.... I stared at you for a lingering time and then I heard the banter of guards patrolling the corridors. I eventually gave you a sharp and yet slight nod of farewell and turned away... Drawing the door back shut behind me as I left the room without another word.- (06/15/14 20:31:34 ) [.One of Many.] V A L I A VOLSTAGG'S WOMAN |.MERCHANT OF SULPORT.| [-Volstagg’s Compound-] A secluded Compound behind the Hall of Sulport. I had not realized we were venturing to the fair but in light of such information, already a list begun to grow in my mind. My focus returned to you as you again, mentioned the office. The line of delicate brows lifted ever so slightly. "That is interesting....I will stay away until it is safe....I look forward to seeing what has been done." My own eyes held to yours as you stared silently. A smile dared upon my lips in place of the usual discomfort I felt from such probing eyes. Your nod of farewell was returned in kind then. Once the door closed, I was seated at the dressing table and began the ritual of preparing for bed. Edited by Valia, Jun 16 2014, 03:31 AM.
