[-Hall of Sulport-]
Is within the Main gathering Hall. Surrounded by the warmth of the many blazing fires and scents of freshly cooked food oozing in from the kitchens. Gentle music dances through the air from the roaming lute players. The Hall is mostly for residents of Sulport and any uninvited guests will be stopped by the guards at the doors.

says to .::.The little trinket.:: I had gotten word that the lumber had been sawn and was even now in the kiln being dried and the steel beams were being forged as joists for the house. What I had told no one was that I also had gotten word from Volstagg, and he wanted me to still build the house that I had promised him that I would. I would need to build a scaffolding that would bear the weight of the beams that needed to be lifted into place.

says to ALL: I sat here in the midst of the empty hall thinking about this building project and wondered how I was going to accomplish it. I had never built anything like this before and since this was my house I wanted it perfect. I think first I would build the scaffolding all around the tree so that it formed a circle and each section of the circle would have a block and tackle that could lift the weight of the beams so that they could be set in place and secured. I would then have mats made, many of them. They would be made of wool and reeds woven together, a layer of reeds then a layer of wool. I think six layers altogether, three each. In fact I wanted the walls and roof lined with them also. It would warm the home in the winter and keep it cooler in the summer. All of this was written down as I thought of it. This list would be sent off to the merchant house and I was sure that the textiles could be made and I would tell all my suppliers to send the bills to Volstagg. I had been perfectly happy to be living on my boat at the docks.

[- The Stream -]
A serene stream that runs all through Wild Tarsk Woods and out across the peasant fields. The stream is not connected to the Vosk and the water is fresh. In parts, the stream is no more than one foot shallow, in other parts it is said to be twenty foot deep. Following the stream would cause you to encounter a couple of rocky waterfalls in the woods as well as a small fishing pond.

says to ALL: the lumber had been delivered to the woods and the tree that stood near the biggest tree there. There were kegs of nails, the steel beams, piles of lumber all stacked according to size, and more would be delivered as it was needed. For now there were men from Sulport there who knew how to build and I would help where I could and when I was told what to do. I wanted to know that I had had a hand in this project.

The builders did think I was crazy, but I had reasons for doing this and they were being well paid, so they were more than happy to take on the project. It also could have something to do with the fact that Sulportians did stick together and then I may have said that it was being insisted that I build a house within the walls of sulport. Even if it was treehouse, and they would not dare to go against Volstagg's wishes.

says to ALL: the block and tackle would be put up first when the scaffolding was built, mostly I was running back and forth when they would yell for hammers, nails or another board and a saw. I was the gopher, but that was alright because I wanted my home well built and square. There were also coils of rope that would be used to set the beams in place. They would place a yoke on each end then bring them together in themiddle and then lift them into the large main branches of the tree.

says to ALL: I had camped near the stream and the building site. The laborers would be back this morning, but I grinned up as I walked around the scaffolding that was surrounding the tree so that now it appeared to have an exoskeleton holding it up. Today the beams would be set in place and then the framing for the floor. There would be multi levels that will be built with the limbs being incorporated into the design. The main living space would be built between the two main branches and there would be an entrance with supports coming up from the ground and a wrap around porch. So there would have to be a stone foundation built for the supports to set on. The foundation would be set six feet within the ground and built up approximately 6 feet above the ground, there would a sill laid atop the stone with seal of tar between stone and wood. The wood sill would be drilled and bolted with lag screws, then the supports would be set atop that with braces angling around them. There will be troughs set around the roof line with pipes going into barrels that would catch rainwater for washing and drinking. there would be pulleys that would help lift supplies up into the leafy branches.

says to ALL: I picked up a spade and began digging the trench where the stones would be laid, the perimeter had been staked out and the surveying done so that the stakes had the grade markings on them, then from the markings that showed the ground level I would dig six feet down.

I was wearing the heavy woven rence pants, slim legged so that the legs tucked neatly into my boots, a lightly woven tunic that was belted around my waist and the bandana around my head that kept my hair out of my face while I worked. The blade of the spade was about eighteen inches long and six inches wide with a sharpened edge and a shorter handle than other shovels. It was designed to dig narrow trenches and to dig deep, the shorter handle allowed for smaller confined spaces.

says to ALL: last night I had slept on the boat and was surprised how much I missed the gentle rocking and the sound of the waves, even the noise of the docks all night. The blackwine had been finished in the early morning light sitting on the deck before tramping my way through the woods to the stream where work would begin again.

I was wishing now that I had gone deeper into the woods, to some dark corner. I so badly wanted to take the boat and head to sea, I wanted to stand on the deck of the ship and feel the rolling of the crashing waves. I dreamed last night of working with the crew and the undercover meetings in mysterious and hidden ports.

The treehouse would be finished and I would get settled and then I needed to sail down the vosk to the thassa. I had been neglecting the business that brought in the funds. The funds were being delivered but I had not been corresponding with the captain as I usually did. The man was honest and he loved his work. This was most likely the reason we worked so well together.

says to Annette Merchant Probati: the foundation wall was finished and the supports were being put up along with the beams being secured and soon the framing for the floor would start.

I slipped on a pair of gloves and grabbed a bucket of steaming tar that had a brush in it and staarted spreading it atop the stones so that the sill could be attached. Work was what I needed, it would take my mind off things and give me a reason for being.

Men and workers were darting around the skeleton of scaffolding and you had to watch that nothing was dropped on your head.

says to ALL: when i was finished with the tar I wasn't sure what I would do next, maybe I could cut lumber once the length was marked out. The men were now rigging up a platform that could be raised and lowered to make it easier to get supplies up. I had been thinking that I wanted to ask if they could erect a crows nest above the roofline. Maybe one that would reach upward past the highest leaves. then I would raise a flag with skull and crossbones to keep visitors away and put out the NOT WELCOME mat and a sign on the wall that would say I BITE

says to ALL: I went into the town early and was determined to find enough men who might need work now to finish the tree house. I was hoping to have a large crowd and get it done today. The roof would have to fitted around the tree trunk going through, but I think it could be guttered in such a way that I could also have a water collection system inside. They would be here soon and by this evening it would be finished.

I was sitting in what was becoming my favorite spot, the crow's nest that allowed me to see all around. I would be glad when the boat returned to the docks since the rain had started I felt like I just couldn't get warm even when I was huddled under the tarp with the fire going in the fireplace, at least that had gotten built before the massacre. It took me most of the day yesterday to even begin to think straight enough to put up the tarp. I was glad I was out here now, the woods seemed normal there was no bloating bodies or piles of rubble. the wreckage was all in my mind now and I didn't quite know how to put it all back together, maybe I didnt' want to it might be best to stay alone, never forgetting. I had no one in this world and I needed to remember that, I did not like being betrayed, or caught unaware or whatever the hell had happened. Betrayal had happened to me another time, not that I had liked the situation I had been in, but then I had been promised to be taken care of, it had been a lie and I had only my self to rely on then and that was the case now.

Somewhere within the large thicket of ancient trees that sits halfway between Sulport and Fina. It acts as a borderline for the two homes and with a shady unstable peace treaty in play; neither side dare cross into the others territory through fear of causing a full blown war.

says to ALL: I was standing at the tree and looking upwards. It was finished now, the scaffolding was gone, the workers and all the mess. I had a house now, in the trees and in solitude. I could bathe in the stream when I wanted, out here I could do anything I wanted when I wanted. it was almost as good as being on the thassa.

says to ALL: I climbed the circular stairs and my head rose as if by magic from the planking of the porch. I walked the perimeter of the house, the outside of the house and then looking over the railing toward the stream. Right now I feel as if my life is just beginning and this beginning was a bleak one, there was no light. I had just been birthed into an oppression of a macabre nightmare and I didn't expect to wake up any time soon.

my little house in the tree was new and smelled of fresh sawn wood, pitch and forest. My hand rested against the rough bark of the tree, there was a the fireplace and a small kitchen area and my bedroom. There was no scent of death here. I needed weapons though, a cross bow, small bow, arrows. I had the small scrimtar with the blue stone at the end of the handle and the knife from the hall. I think I wanted a spear also.
