[-Hall of Sulport-]
Is within the Main gathering Hall. Surrounded by the warmth of the many blazing fires and scents of freshly cooked food oozing in from the kitchens. Gentle music dances through the air from the roaming lute players. The Hall is mostly for residents of Sulport and any uninvited guests will be stopped by the guards at the doors.

says to ALL: For far to long had I been curled over the ledger, adjusting notes and sketches, listing out supplies that would be needed. And this was just for the courtyard itself. I had yet to step foot within the interior rooms of the compound itself. I tried to imagine all of the rooms I had yet to see and found that my mind had abandoned me. It was an unfathomable undertaking.

I sat tall, stretching my arms overhead for a moment. The spindle of long fingers curved gently at the nape of my neck to persuade those muscles to relax. Tension had settled in the lines of my shoulder and neck and the urge to move felt almost overwhelming. Tucking away the marking stick, I flipped the ledger closed and drew into the crook of my arm. Shifting from the bench at the table, I rose to my feet and deposited the ledger within the sanctuary of my usual chair. It would be safe there.

The lush linen of robes of burnished gold hung in graceful lines about a slender frame, accentuated further in movement. The natural cadence of an elegant stride and royal posture could only further reveal the determination of a woman of Sulport. A sliver of obisidian ghosted the feminine curve of an aristocratic jawline. The warmth of the fires had flushed porcelain skin softly and the dance of flickering flames reflected on the golden clothe as if it held the hint of a spark that might at any moment suddenly ignite.

The scent of searing meat from the kitchens called to me. Unable to resist the aroma, it was like the syrens cry and I found myself entranced moving towards the source. Discreet was the grazing of tongue between the crevice of my lips. Moistening the skin and moreso tasting the air, drawing the flavor into my mouth. I was suddenly very hungry....

says to SahiraProbational of Sul: I invaded the kitchen without hesitation. It did not belong to me, but never had I let such a thing deter me. As a contributing citizen of Sulport, we were given certain favor, a certain leeway. The women were protected and well provided for by the men of Sulport. And I was proud to count myself among those numbers.

At the counter, I drew forth a later platter and upon it surface I settled several small dishes, an eating prong and knife, and a napkin of repcloth. Once these dishes were nested together, I carried it around the counter to began plating my evening meal. A small dish was filled with mashed suls, mixed with butter and drizzled with slivers of cheese. Large olives stuffed with herbed cheese was spooned into another dish. A small plate of fish, cut in thin fillets and lightly seasoned joined the dishes upon the tray. I selected too, a large piece of satarna bread covered in a healthy slather of butter and honey. To sate my sweet tooth, a medlee of apples had been diced and poached in a sweet syrup that drizzled thickly into a shallow bowl. Lastly, I selected a fine cut of one large rib from the tarsk that had been glazed and spent the entirety of the day roasting. It was quite a feast. And I wondered if perhaps there was some celebration that I was unaware of. Last to adorn my tray was a tall goblet of water, with such rich foods, I would require something cool and crisp to wash it all down.

I could hardly wait to taste a bite of everything. The platter was laden with a variety of plates and heavy as I lifted it. One would not think it so, as I carried it with a percieved ease. A precision of balance so that not even the water sloshed in the goblet. Once more I strode carefully through the hall, my feast held before me in the manner of a trophy. The table nearest my chair would hold this bounty so that I could enjoy it.

says to ALL: The ledger would be held captive between the line of my thigh and the arm of the chair, tucked discreetly between the armrest and the cushion upon which I sat. I shifted my chair closer and pulled the tray closer. One by one the plates were removed and sat to the tables surface, arranging them with a certain compulsive obsession. The empty tray was retrieved by a slave as she passed and I continued with my routine nearly oblivious to her presence.

The eating prong was held in my left hand and I drew the knife within my right. Slowly, I began to carve the meat from the bone. There was the scrape of blade against bone momentarily as I slid the thin piece of metal beneath the seared flesh and sliced it free. Small pieces were cut, stripped from the bone as the meat all but fell apart in places. I continued until the bone was barren and cast it to the side of the plate. With the eating prong, a sliver of that glazed tarsk would be forked and delicately lifted to my lips. The pristine ivory of teeth flashed as I bit down into the meat, drawing it from the forks carefully. I chewed slow, enjoying the mix of the glaze and the flavor of the roasted meat. It was sinfully good. Pale eyes practically glistened with unexpected joy.

says to ALL: The hall was silent save for the sound of the eating prong as it might happen to glance off the ceramic surface of one of the plates. I sampled randomly from the dishes, enjoying a bite of everything. The fillets of fish had been cut thin, seasoned and buttered, cooked to a perfection so that pieces were so delicate they melted on your tongue. I paused long enough to take a long drink of water from the goblet, my gaze wandering the empty hall.

Out of my periphory I had glanced motion. Or perhaps the reflection of something. I continued to eat, my eyes forward but I watched from the corner of my eye for that glimmer. Once more, it drew my attention. I had only thought the hall to be empty. In a manner, I focused on the corner lost to shadows and realized that within them lurked a man. I knew he must be of Sulport to be in the hall or else the guards would have never let him in. I took yet another bite of the tarsk, chewing the deliciousness in tortously slow method. Releasing my grip on the goblet, I drew the rep-napkin to my lips and dabbed softly at the corners of my mouth.

"The meat is quite good, you should have some...Savitar."

The usual warm inflection of my voice fell almost flat as I spoke softly. It seemed loud, the silence that came from that dark corner of the hall. I maintained eyes forward, drawing the napkin across my lap as I resumed that slow and methodical pattern of sampling bites from each dish. There was the crackle of the fires, the distant sound of slaves in the kitchen but from that corner there was nothing. A smile was slow to creep across the line of my mouth as I chewed.

says to ALL: Several pieces of meat were forked as I chewed the last bite, sucking the remnants from my teeth with a drawing of tongue across the otherwise smooth surface. It was a this moment that Savitar chose to step from the depths of darkness and into the soft illumination of the small hearth. He was cast in silhouette but still I would recognize him. A sinister smirk curled his upper lip into a snarling expression as he spoke.

"I've been watching you for ahns, lent over that bloody book. I could have easily killed you several times over. And yet it was I that nearly died....of boredom."

I laughed softly, watching the tortured expression upon his rugged face. For a Karian, he wasn't half bad to look at, and at least he had all of his teeth. I pointed the eating prong at him then, drawing a small circle with the rotation of my wrist as if to further emphasize that it was to him I spoke.

"Oh dear man, we've only just begun. And you think yourself bored now? Ha! Your days will consist of trips between the hall and the compound. The hall. The compound. And me, of course."

It was a wicked laugh that spilled from the curve of a smiling mouth. The meat that was still held captive was brought to my mouth finally and devoured. An expression of satisfaction was born from the torment Savitar would endure as my personal guard and the dark pleasure of it read exquisitely on beautiful features.

I resumed eating once more, and though he stood there watching, I seemed oblivious to his presence. I did not miss the scowl in the lines of his face and the lightning flash of hatred in the depths of his eyes. It served only to make me smile that much harder.
