[-Volstagg’s Compound-]
A secluded Compound behind the Hall of Sulport. The compound itself is mostly hidden by two large warehouses. A guarded iron gate sits between them, leading into the bottle neck entrance of the compounds garden. The building is erected around the edge of the concrete garden on a square foundation, offering space and privacy to all within its walls.

says to ALL: Another day spent within the construction zone that was the compound. There was the heavy hammering of metal against stone as the slaves worked to break apart the entirety of the courtyard. The once white stone, lay in broken pieces, faded in shades of gray as though they had begun to decay.

Eyes of palest jade didn't so much as blink, the loud rapid fire of hammering left me much unphased. My mind drifted to other thoughts, other memories. Pretty features, noble in nature, embraced the most neutral of expressions. There was a coldness in that beauty, the distant look within those eyes. Slow was my stride as I walked along the boundary of the courtyard, beneath the covered palisade to glimpse around the pillars as I observed the work underway. A light draft pulled along that exterior walk, pulling at the draping of black material until it billowed around the darkness of leather-clad legs. It was difficult to see the scissoring of legs in stride, blending with the utter black of that cloak so that it appeared I hardly moved at all. Yet I did, ghosting along in a haunting manner until I stood next to a patch of ground that had been uncovered. The stones broken and removed to reveal the soil that had lain beneath it.

I stooped down, a delicate hand scooped down into the dirt to claim a handful. My palm turned upwards as some of the raw earth spilled between my fingers. The soil was dark, rich and the fragrance lifted to me. I inhaled softly as I squeezed my fingers closed, encouraging the release of scent. The dirt was moist and cool in my hand but from the smell alone I knew it to be fertile. I thought about what Volstagg had told me. The compound has once been a prison and the courtyard had witnessed the execution of so many. Blood makes the grass grow.

says to ALL: The soil fell from my hand as I turned it over, palms pressed together to brush away the granules that dared to cling to my skin. Eyes like pale fire lifted, gazing across the courtyard as I tried to envision that changes that were to be made. At the far end, my eyes climbed the lines of the structure itself. Scaffolding was being raised, a skeleton of wood and iron bars to fence the structure, allowing the builders access to the exterior of those second floor rooms that would become balconies overlooking the courtyard. Once it was completed, the process would repeated, balconies to mirror one another at each end of the courtyard. I stood then, retrailing my walk.

There was the sudden clash of steel against stone, the wicked curve striking with such force the stone shattered into pieces. The debris shot in all directions. A large chunk of the stone was flung towards me, skittering across the tiles of the covered walkway. I tracked its path timing the precise moment to draw my right foot forward to richochet that small piece back into the chaos of the courtyard. There was a grunt of protest as it struck a thrall in the knee. As I appeared from behind the pillar, my gaze sought the source of that sound locking with the eyes of an unknown face. The swing of his axe hesitated for that moment. He made no further sound and my gaze slid away from him. The slave resumed his pace, the chorus of axe hammering against stone became a melody for destruction. The shattering of the pieces a chorus.

[-Volstagg’s Compound-]

The building is erected around the edge of the concrete garden on a square foundation, offering space and privacy to all within its walls.

says to ALL: As I walked, absently there was the soft metallic clink of keys. My fingers slithered over the cold metal keys attached to the belt at my waist. Beside the keys was suspended a small purse of coin, bounding gently against the flare of hip as I walked. My focus was the keys though my eyes were in constant survey of the courtyard. The keys felt mostly the same with blind exploration save for the smallest of them. It was with this one I toyed, remembering the express instructions to not use the key, not go through the door it opened. As the walk turned to the left, my face turned eyes seeking the nearly hidden staircase at the opposite end of the courtyard. Up those stairs, in to his private quarters and I'd have answers to questions I had not asked. I thought on it for moment longer before dismissing it from my mind. In truth, he asked very little of me and I would not disobey him.

Work proceeded in timely fashion as the thralls made progress obliterating the stones that tiled the courtyard. Those that did not wield a pick-axe were steadily clearing away the debris of broken rock. Soon the courtyard would be nothing but the darkness of rich soil. The smell of moist earth fragranted the air and I inhaled. The scent reminded me of a place beyond the woods.

[-The Story Teller-]
Is in Storytelling mode and whipping up some awesome adventure

says to ALL: As the formation of thralls worked to break apart the inlaid stone of the courtyard, another group had been chosen to go into the hills and cliffs north of the city. From those cliffs new stone would be culled. Specific were the voiced desires as to the quality and color of said stone. Among that gathered, there might too be repurposed pieces of the walls that had been demolished during the great betrayal. Some things, could be given new life. And where it was possible, it would be done.

Stone cutters, the top of the masonry workers, would oversee this task. The stones had to be cut to specific size and then transported back to the compound. Some pieces were left raw, transported back in large pieces that would later be completed on site. There was some secrecy to these aspects, those supervising knowing only what they needed to know to see the job done to satisfaction.
