(11/18/14 16:15:23 ) [.Deaths Lady.] V A L I A .Merchant of Sulport. [-Volstagg’s Compound-] A secluded Compound behind the Hall of Sulport. The compound itself is mostly hidden by two large warehouses. A guarded iron gate sits between them, leading into the bottle neck entrance of the compounds garden. The building is erected around the edge of the concrete garden on a square foundation, offering space and privacy to all within its walls. says to ALL: I lay nested in a thick pile of furs. A long and sleepless night had led to a long day of dead sleep. My conscious mind had fled and in its place came darkness. There was no sound, no color, no light. Just the black. As slumber faded, flashes of yesterday strung like webbing until all the pieces fit together. Death. Volstagg. Blood. Savitar. The flash of a blade as it sank into Volstagg. The knife thrown at my feet. The silent accusations behind eyes of fierce blue. It was that final glimpse that jerked me entirely awake. Breaths were drawn with such exertion it sounded as if I had been suffocating. I could still feel it, like the weight of something large pinning me beneath the furs. The pain of it filled my chest so that the thunderous roar of my heart was paced irradically. There was the press of palms to eyes as I tried to wake. My mind did not want to. It was refusing. I rubbed at my eyes, realizing my hands drew away wet. I jerked upright, the furs pooling around my waist as long tendrils of black curtained my shoulders. Tears. Poured hot and steady, streaming down my face only to glide down the curve of neck. I blinked, pressing my eyes closed. But it did nothing to staunch the flow. I wiped at my cheeks, at my neck as the warm tears slid lower to find naked flesh. It had to stop. I needed it to stop. A shiver dared to tickle its way down my spine so that I drew the furs up and around me. Folding the lush softness and crushing it against the contours of my body, the warmth cocooned around me invitingly. As I wrapped it about my shoulders, I caught the familiar scent of him. A breath broke inside of me in a shudder. There was the look within his eyes, haunting me the way demons play in the back of your mind. I lay back down, drawing the furs up to my chin. The one and only time I had spent within his private quarters was also likely to be the last. The agony rose in my throat like fire, teeth clenched together to hold its captive silently. Could I close my eyes once more and sleep for the rest of eternity? I could try. I rolled to my side, huddled beneath the fur, tears crept from the corner of my eyes, clinging wetly to the thick curl of lash. (11/18/14 16:31:59 ) [.Deaths Lady.] V A L I A .Merchant of Sulport. It was a futile effort. The scent of him filled my lungs to bursting. The smell drew back memories in a sequence of rapid flashes. The Three. The marsh. The hunt. The grove. The pain of it was ripping me in to. Love was such a small word, flimsy with its four letters but sharper than any metal blade ever to have been forged. It sliced through me like a razors edge leaving only the before and after. How could I survive it ? Who was to say that I would. Unable to bare the torment, I struggled free of the furs, stumbling upon sleeping limbs that were not yet ready to support me. I fell against a shield, lent within the corner of the room and shrank down behind its domed surface. I drew my knees to my chest, crushing the meat of breasts as arms wrapped to bury face within them. The tears continued to stream, dotting my thighs and beading across the skin like the smallest of diamonds. Emotions born of crystalline tears to paint the canvas of ivory flesh. Tragic was the beauty of it. My soul weeped and I was doomed to suffer it until all the surpressed tears of a lifetime had been set free. The shield hiding me save for the very crown of my head. It was shielding me. I felt safe in the small place. But the tears fell like a hot summer rain and showed no signs of slowing. How long could it last? An ahn? A night? Day? Weeks? I shuddered at the thought. Like a raw wound bleeding out only there was nothing to stop it. A sound at the door drew my attention. I lifted my head only enough to allow those jade eyes to peer over the sharp edge of the shield. Shadows played beneath the door as someone moved on the other side of it. The muscles in my body tightened, my breath held as I strained to listen. I heard it then, barely, the sound of my name through the door. I could only guess it to be Savitar. I said nothing, despite the constant flow of silent tears. My voice could not be trusted to reveal my weakness. I let my face drop back to the cradle of my arms. Sorrow crashed over me in waves that threatened to suffocate me. I wanted no witnesses to this. The pain was sweet and the silence bliss compared to the usual chaos of my mind. I could rest my head. Just for a minute. Despair had grown roots and held me in place. Unwilling or unable to be moved. (11/18/14 17:56:09 ) [.Deaths Lady.] V A L I A .Merchant of Sulport. He knew I was locked within. Only the one way out. I could not leave without him being aware. I could not leave until I gained some kind of control. Water rushed from my eyes as I closed them. It was silent. I could hear nothing beyond the door. The warmth of my breath washed over the bareness of thighs. I could almost sleep. Almost. Were it not for the flashes of blue, brilliant shades that flashed across the dark field of vision like the flare of shooting stars, blinding me to all but its violent beauty. Bare feet pressed into the floor, toes curling a grip as if I might at any given moment slip away. Perhaps I feared that. Becoming nothing. I did not want to be nothing. It was a cold and unforgiving place, numb to everything. There was no light there. The thought felt suffocating and I lifted my head from the cradle of arms, lips broke to gasp for a long breath as if I had been treading deep waters and only just broke free of them. Emotions were the undercurrent of the soul and they threatened to drown me. I reached blindly, my fingers finding the leather strap of the shield and curling around it. I held on with all of my strength, embracing the pain instead of denying it. I let it in. To overwhelm and consume me. It was not defeat. I didn't give up, I just gave in. It appeared ransacked and was left in a complete mess. I slammed the door shut behind me and stalked down those stairs, this was not the way I came in, but I was not going back through the painting, I shoved open the wardrobe doors and left them open, letting myself out of the back way and avoided all of the traps that she did not know I knew about.- -I moved through the alleys, the evening was approaching and it was hard to see at first, but after spending the last evening in the black of that cave, my eyes adjusted swiftly and I made my way all the through until I came out along side the bath house, directly opposite the stairs to the hall. My feral blue glare rose up towards those doors, but I didn't go there. I turned right and walked around the platform, heading down a narrow pathway and towards two warehouse, the gate hung open broken and I passed through into a graveyard area that was supposed to be the garden court of my compound. I set gaze towards the main door and approached those stairs … entering the compound building... (11/18/14 18:09:07 ) [.Deaths Lady.] V A L I A .Merchant of Sulport. The building is erected around the edge of the concrete garden on a square foundation, offering space and privacy to all within its walls. says to ALL: I found I could bare it. The pain. Filling me with a dark sort of euphoria. It was the battle of trying not to feel that was so exhausting. It was a war that could only be lost. My hand braced against the wall, helping to push me up. The circulation of blood flooded my legs and feet with the stinging sensation that eazed as I walked across the room. The tears washed over the hollowed slope of sleek bone structure to cling and drip from the dainty jut of chin. Wisps of dark hair clung in wet lines along the graceful curve of jaw and neck. Despite my nakedness, I did not feel the cold of the room. Perhaps it was the hot tears that continued in their travelling path. I dressed slowly, donning the layering of material with practiced ease. Accustom to decorum, I could have dressed blindfolded. I sat upon the edge of a chair, slipping the opaque stockings upon my feet and drawing them up to rim the tops of slender thighs. My fingers traced the looping of the cord that wrapped tightly the slender of my right thigh. I had forgotten it entirely. The brush of fingers over it caused a miss in the pounding cadence of my heart. I could not think about it. Instead smoothing the skirts of robing down to conceal my legs. The I drew on the boots, the cloak, the hood drawn up to hide the bed-mussed disaster of my hair. I touched briefly upon the keys, looping the ring through the sash of leather that draped loosely about my waist. I moved to the door, unlocking it and opening it a small sliver. I could see no one and drew it open to step outside. I locked it behind me, pulling the cowl of my hood lower. My face cast fully in the shadow of it. I took the stairs quickly, striding quickly from the palisades to cross the courtyard. I made towards the gate as fast as my feet could carry me without running. (11/18/14 18:34:13 ) [.Deaths Lady.] V A L I A .Merchant of Sulport. [-Alley-] Is in one of the many alleys that web their way through Sulport like a labyrinth. says to ALL: I exited the compound, taking the coil of alleys to travel across the city unseen. I knew the twists and turns, alternating my path so that it would be damned near impossible to follow me exactly. I shrank beneath the hood, my face hidden from view. The tears were ever present, streaking my face like a trail of fire searing its way down my skin. I felt the fall of every single one. It infuriated me, that I could not stop the downpour from my eyes. (11/18/14 18:51:38 ) [.Deaths Lady.] V A L I A .Merchant of Sulport. [-VELOX FLUVIUS IMPORTS-] Near or within the rock-faced building that houses the headquarters of Velox Fluvius Imports, seated just a stone's throw from the docks of Sulport. says to ALL: I took the walk that mirrored the docks, drawing the key from my belt to gain entrance to the office. I unlocked the door in a quick skirmish, my gaze cast up the walk. There was no one there and as the lock gave, I pushed my way inside slamming the door behind me. Once locked, I drew the cloak from my shoulders, wiping at the wetness of my face with the sleeve of my robe. I found my way up the stairs, to the nest that had become my private quarters. When the door swung open, I was assaulted by the aroma of so many broken viles of perfume. My gaze travelled to the counter beneath the painting, the broken glass...the spilled perfume. I closed my eyes, unable to be bothered by it. My steps drew me towards the dressing table. Where I began to undress. The cloak tossed to the chair and uncerimoniously I peeled the garments from my body layer by layer. The robes, the stockings, the boots...vanished. The cord that wrapped my thigh was left in place, the tips of fingers grazed it absently as I strode towards the chaise. My footing slipped as I stepped in cold water, the next step found broken shards of clay to cut the delicate curve of my instep. I gasped at the shock, jerking in an alternate direction. The next step found yet another sliver so that my steps left a trekking of blood across the wood planking. I favored my left foot, unable to make it to the chaise, I fell to the pile of furs that blanketed the floor. I turned, the fingers of my left hand exploring the sole of my foot to feel the piece of clay embedded in flesh. Teeth ground together as I found a grip with my nails and pulled it slowly from the bleeding wound. Tears fell from my cheeks, scorching in temperature as blood oozed freely. I shifted upon my knees towards the low table. Bloodstained fingers claimed the neck of the wine bottle and drug it towards me. The weight of it revealed it to be half full. I didn't bother with a glass, pressing my lips to the bottle as I turned it up. Wine spilled towards my lips, into my mouth..... It tasted of freedom. I drank deep. |
