Various Gileadan Intelligence Agents had infiltrated Vinland decades ago, and most were still actively gathering intel. One of the two agents assigned to keep tabs on Princessa Aurora intercepted her letters and relayed the informed back to HQ in HeavenGate. The Minister of Intelligence relayed it to the Foreign Affairs Minister. "According to my agents, the Austianese have sent a diplomat to meet one of their Princess's to discuss an increase in fish imports and ship sales," the Minister of Intelligence, Hugo Lagos, notified Minister Banks. "Thank you," Banks responded, "I will send my Deputy to handle that. Don't tell Gregory just yet, he has enough to worry about." "Indeed," Lagos confirmed. ![]() |

Princess Aurora stared at the letter. She understood why the Gileadens would do this, heck everyone expected this, but why on Novera would Gilead write her? She hated Gilead almost as much as she did Austiana! Could two global powers have terrible diplomatic and information branches? With the flick of her wrist she dialed up Frost. "Hey." The ice haired woman answered. She looked almost haggard, and Aurora felt a ping of sympathy. "We have another one. Gilead this time." Aurora informed Frost. Frost just nodded her head and motioned for Aurora to continue. "Their offer is to match Austiana's terms and exceed them." Frost nodded in exhaustion and confirmation. "Look, I can-" "No." Frost cut her off. "Aurora, this is too... complex for you. You aren't ready." Frost stated without flinching. Aurora heard it and flinched herself. "Write them back. Tell them I will meet them on Vinlandic Soil." Aurora nodded glumly.

Aurora nodded at the note, but frowned at the lack of proper address in text. She was brought from her thoughts when two soft familiar arms wrapped around her from behind. "Hey." Shade greeted softly, her voice was rough from a day of speeches and shouting orders, but it carried her love and concern perfectly. "I missed you." Aurora returns quietly. She tries to hide her worry, but Shade's arm squeeze in concern. "Yeah, things have been rough." Shade nuzzled her neck softly bringing her into the softness of the moment, and Aurora felt that everything would be okay, if only for tonight. Frost rubbed away the shadows from her eyes. She was tired after a long day of debate before the Althing, but awake enough for this meeting. The diplomat from Gilead would be here any moment now. |

Rosebud, Vinland 0300 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Brenden Finley, flew a private jet out to Vinland via military escort due to the urgency of the matter. "Marvelous, I just love the more traditional styles of architecture and and lifestyle. Too bad we had to adopt modernism for the sake of political and economic power." These were the thoughts of the Deputy Minister as he rode through the city of Rosebud. When he finally made it to her, the Deputy Minister bowed in respect and took the Princess' hand to kiss ever so lightly. "Your Highness." |

Frost glared at the slightly shorter man. "I'll put it to you directly Mr. Finley. If you want a base up here in the North it will take three things to win out over Austiana's current offer. 1, a guaranteed rent to be paid for the base, with allowances for inflation. 2, we want you to back our claim on the unsettled islands to our West OR East. And third, we want you to rally Gileadan investors into our ship building and fishing industries with legislation or subsidize our navy directly." Frost didn't even blink. |

Deputy Minister Finley returned the woman's glare, then smiled while taking a small step backwards to symbolize a release of tension, as he felt there was a little. He opened his mouth and said, "All three terms can be bet, my Lady, but the acquisition an/or construction of military bases was not on the Gileadan agenda at first. We thought it would show how true our desire is to see Vinland as sovereign over its lands, but if you would allow it, we would gladly set up bases to protect trade interests and ward of threats which may come by the North Sea. Now, may we go inside? The winds here are much more insulting than that of Northern Gilead." |
