“You have been very busy writing letters lately,” Basileus Kypseli said as he watched his superior drafting another communication in his most formal handwriting.

“Yes, Minister Peiraias will be surprised and saddened that he missed all of the action,” Kerameikos said drily. He shrugged and said more seriously, “As time goes on, more of the map begins to fill; more nations, more governments, and more leaders rise from obscurity and reveal themselves to the world, as we have done. In many ways, we are still in their shoes. It is right for us to lend a diplomatic hand when we have the opportunity, and bring these new people into the wider world.”

“And the fact that we are still in search of additional friends for the neutrality league doesn’t hurt,” said the basileus wryly.

The anax gave his subordinate a half-hearted glare. “Yes, there is always that, isn’t there?” he asked rhetorically. “Nonetheless,” he continued, returning his attention to his letter, “this opportunity can benefit Achaian Peloponnese as well as our potential new friend. We know nothing of this nation, Seaeta, except that it is particularly close to the Sundra Canal, placing it just outside of the hot zone of the current conflict. It is close enough to the fighting to be at risk, but not close enough that it will certainly be involved. It is also very close to a strategic asset—perhaps not yet strategic for our own purposes, but strategic for everyone else’s, and there is no telling just how important that canal might become for Achaian Peloponnese in the future. We would be fools to ignore this nation, new or not, simply because of our own shortsightedness.”

Basileus Kypseli nodded. “True enough,” he said, “but what can we offer this nation, and what can this nation offer us?”

“What else have we been offering lately?” Anax Kerameikos asked rhetorically. “Mutual defense with an eye toward neutrality.”

To the United Emirates of Seaeta:
Kerameikos, anax of Achaian Peloponnese, sends Greetings!

On behalf of the government of Achaian Peloponnese, I would like to invite a representative of your government to discuss diplomatic and economic ties between our two nations. Achaian Peloponnese would be pleased to host your diplomats here in our capital of Kerkyra. For the sake of our mutual benefit, we look forward to receiving your response.

Signed,
Kerameikos
Anax and Defender
Achaian Peloponnese

Ambassador Alonissos arrived at Anax Anafiotika Airport with General Aias from the Office of Military Affairs at his side, just in time to watch an Achaian diplomatic car depart from the tarmac outside. ‘The anax never imagined that we would be this busy when he sent Basileus Kifisia and Minister Peiraias away,’ he thought to himself. ‘He could have used them now.’

That was certainly true. Not only was Achaian Peloponnese hosting three diplomatic parties at once, but two of those parties included prime ministers. The Achaian government was beginning to have trouble finding appropriately-impressive government officials to meet with its guests. The result was that Ambassador Alonissos was accompanied by a desk-bound general from the Office of Military Affairs, despite the message from Seaeta explicitly discussing diplomatic and economic ties; the basileus of the Office of Economics was already engaged to speak to the other guest prime minister, and Anax Kerameikos’s own interest in Seaeta was almost entirely military in nature, in that the anax feared that Seaeta was in the path of the current madness in Victorium and wanted to persuade its government that allying with Achaian Peloponnese and the neutral nations gathering in Medai would be in its best interests. Alonissos would certainly keep to himself the rumor that had made the rounds earlier that day that the proposed summit in Medapolis for this neutral alliance was apparently going to begin with as many non-participating observers as member-nations.

‘It is our job to bring these latecomers to the party,’ the ambassador thought firmly, ‘if not in Medai, then here in Achaian Peloponnese.’

He glanced at his watch, before turning his eyes to the sky. “If they’re on time, they’ll be preparing to land right about now.”

“They’re on time,” General Aias assured Alonissos. “Seaeta’s security detail went over the timing of this visit to the absolute minute. They wouldn’t overlook something like a late flight.”

Almost as soon as the general finished speaking, Alonissos spotted an approaching aircraft in the sky. “Those are Seaetan colors,” he said. “Here they are.” He turned away from the windows and strode toward the diplomatic gate, General Aias beside him. “Let’s see how they feel about the mess up north.”

Prime Minister Zaman Abujamal just landed, he had a fairly busy flight on the way to the Achaian Peloponnese, or as it is casually called in Seaeta the Pelopnnese. He was forced to review various reports on the dynamics of economic activity over the past year, and a look into a secret ploy his various informants have caught up on. He looked to the side and saw Defense Minister Abu Bakr Zaman reviewing the various security details that had been set out. He was only assigned to the delegation at the last minute, considering how the Prime Minister lacked in areas that Zaman would come in handy with. The plane began to taxi over to a nearby terminal.

The plane doors opened and security escorted the Prime Minister over to the welcoming delegation.

"Greetings friends, I hope this meeting will be a successful one. I bring you a thousand thanks of Seaeta for inviting us to meet with you," Prime Minister Abujamal started.

Ambassador Alonissos smiled. “And you have a thousand thanks from ourselves for accepting our invitation,” he told the prime minister. “Welcome to Achaian Peloponnese. On behalf of Anax Kerameikos, I am honored to receive you here in Kerkyra. I am Ambassador Alonissos, from the Office of International Political Outreach. I am extremely pleased to meet with you today, Prime Minister.”

The general nodded. “Prime Minister, I am General Aias from the Office of Military Affairs. I second the ambassador’s words: I am very happy to meet with you today. I am very hopeful that our discussion will prove to be a profitable one for both Seaeta and Achaian Peloponnese.”

“We have a car waiting to take us directly to the Megaron to begin our formal talks,” Alonissos said. “There are refreshments to serve you after your flight. Shall we go?”

[OOC: I noticed that your PM and your president share the name "Abujamal." Does the family name come first or second? I'm curious if your PM and president are from the same family, or if "Abujamal" is a common first name in your nation. I also don't want to call him "Prime Minister Abujamal" and realize later that I've breached etiquette, so I'm asking in advance.]

[OOC: It comes second, basically the President used scheming to get all the Emirates to have a monarch of his house, more of it will be shined later. It is alright don't worry.]

"Yes I believe that will be a great idea," the Abujamal said to the delegation. Soon the group headed towards the car, a servant opened the doors for the delegation once all of them entered the car Abujamal continued, "I must say this is a very beautiful country, now before we reach the destination to formally begin talks, I inquire to what specifically you wish to talk about."

Ambassador Alonissos nodded. “We wish to discuss several things with Seaeta,” he said, “but as you might imagine, we are most interested in discussing the war in Victorium. Achaian Peloponnese is a small nation with a small population and a very keen interest in remaining aloof from the ambitions of more powerful states, especially since our own ambitions have very little, if anything, to do with Victorium or those nations involved in its war. We seek neutrality in the current mess, but with only very little power at our disposal, we are less than confident that our desires will be seriously considered by any nation interested in turning the Peloponnese into a colony. For the sake of our people and our government, we are seriously pursuing allies among other currently-neutral states, in the hopes of creating a united front that will deter any hostile nations or factions from threatening our peace.” The ambassador motioned toward Prime Minister Abujamal. “We believe that Seaeta would also like to remain outside of the hostilities that may or may not bear down on it at the moment. Anax Kerameikos believes that your nation would have an interest in joining our own in this endeavor.”
