Salón de María Ministry of Foreign & Colonial Affairs Hamunaptra, Dawinia The hour was late as the Foreign & Colonial Minister, Alba Suero, gathers the last of some papers and files, as well as her government tablet, and placed them into her bag. As she latches the front buckle and starts to leave her office, she stops to turn around, forgetting her hat. She wears a golden, yet not bright, coat dress, hemmed and trimmed with crimson red threading and accents; portraying the colours of the Empire’s flag. She wished to express her important position to those she plans to meet later today. Grabbing her matching cloche hat, she heads for her office door, again interrupted; her phone started to vibrate. She retrieves it, struggling, from the outside of her purse, which sits on her left arm, as her portfolio briefcase, embossed with the crest of the Dawinian Government, sits on her right. “Suero,” she answers. “Sra. Suero, your town car awaits in the front of the building,” replies someone on the other line. “Great; I’ll be there shortly.” She ends the call, again struggling to put her phone back into her purse. Finally getting that task done, she opens her door and enters into a hallway, with floors of marble and walls adorned with various paintings of historical events of both Dawinia and the world. Firmly, she closes the door again, not worrying about locking, as it was recently replaced with an biometric auto-lock. Click click. Click click. Her heels echo as she makes her way down the hallway, reaching a set of double doors that opens to the main staircase of the Salón de María, the building where the Ministry of Foreign & Colonial Affairs are located. Descending down the steps, the main doors leading to the outside are opened by guards. She exits the building and enters the awaiting car, moving all of her bags to the side. “A bit bright for a secret meeting, Sra. Suero,” jokingly questions the driver. “Huh, now they'll know for sure I'm snooping around,” she exclaims. They both start to laugh; their witty banter was something of the norm for the two. “And where am I to take you on this very early morning?” “Base Aérea Cuatro Puntos, please, and make it snappy.” “Of course, now sit back and relax; we’ll be there in no time.” As the car starts to move forward and the partition is raised, Alba deeply sighs. “I hate flying over water,” she thinks, starting to comb her hair with her fingers, as is her nervous habit. She already knows she won’t have a nice flight this morning. Edited by Colcintra, Jun 23 2014, 09:50 AM.

Oh, great, now we're starting on this... "Actually, we get along fine with them, thank you." "Hmm, assistance with military technological advancement is our priority. We're hoping that a stronger military will give us more influence." Edited by Medai, Jun 24 2014, 12:08 AM.

A chuckle escapes from Alba, despite her best attempts to suppress it. She averts her eyes to a paper that was signed by the Emperor, detailing generous aid to various sectors of their nation. She takes no time to take the paper and rip it intwine, setting it to the side of her bag. Although it was an original, it was only done for dramatic effect. Turning over yet another page, she quickly reestablishes eye contact. "That is true. Having a formidable army does enable a nation to obtain more influence. Now, please enlighten me, you want innovation in military technology; where would you plan on obtaining this assistance from?" |

The President couldn't help but sigh. He knew that this meeting wasn't going to end well, and could tell that this was the place where it was going to crash. He was surprised by her question. He thought for a moment, then asked, "You aren't actually wanting an answer to that, are you?"

"I do not," respond Alba, "I was only trying to make a point." She carefully eyes the President and his stature, as if trying to read his thoughts. They had the upper hand here; peace for tech. She knows that it's a most generous offer to Medai and for their sake, she hopes they take it. "We're at a crossroads, Dawinian and Medai and what it boils down to is either accept and progress you nation for prosperity or reject and never again shall we bother, for the good or the bad." |

"Broken record," Alba thinks before responding. "Well, like I had said earlier," she stops to take a sip of water, "We just want governmental cooperation and above all, peace." She looks around the room, resting on a portrait of what seems to be a rendition of the Medaian War of Independence. She couldn't help but to smile a little, thinking of its relevance here. "We are not asking for land cessions or capulation. The Crown aspires for Medaian growth and longevity." |

"Cooperation with what? So far, you appear to be wanting us to just cooperate with whatever you're doing. We aren't willing to do that. What do you have in mind?"

Her expression remains stoic, looking at the President. She's attempting, and succeeding, to refrain from saying something that is uncouth. But, she manages a smile, proceeding onward. "What I mean, Mr. President, is that we would work to cooperate to make better the barriers that lie between us, not blind obedience; that's definitely not anywhere close to what I was saying. I am talking in terms of trade, of economics, and of fundamental diplomatic relations, which has steadily soured, even before these past months." |

The President leaned forward. He was getting frustrated. "You're making it sound like we'd get technology and peace with absolutely no strings attached. That's not how these things work. Stop beating around the bush and tell me, what are you wanting?" said the President, his voice raised slightly.

"Of course you would say that," she responds, "but do you not understand? The Crown is at fault. We couldn't possibly ask for anything; we," she says as she hit her chest, "caused this. And we are fixing that, can you not see that?!" Alba takes a moment to compose herself, before continuing. "We don't want Noverra. We don't want Medai. We want to right our wrongs, for the transgressions committed in Dawinia's name." |

(OOC: Herself. When she said "we," she emphasised it by hitting her chest, because said "we" is Dawinia, which is where she is from.)

(OOC: Okay. You should fix the spelling, it says he hit her.) "If you're talking about fixing what Charles did, I don't care if you do or not. Charles was an idiot, and I don't want to trouble you because of what he did. If you're talking about fixing what Antonio has done, I'm not convinced!" Edited by Medai, Jun 24 2014, 03:52 PM.
