Salón de María Ministry of Foreign & Colonial Affairs Hamunaptra, Dawinia The hour was late as the Foreign & Colonial Minister, Alba Suero, gathers the last of some papers and files, as well as her government tablet, and placed them into her bag. As she latches the front buckle and starts to leave her office, she stops to turn around, forgetting her hat. She wears a golden, yet not bright, coat dress, hemmed and trimmed with crimson red threading and accents; portraying the colours of the Empire’s flag. She wished to express her important position to those she plans to meet later today. Grabbing her matching cloche hat, she heads for her office door, again interrupted; her phone started to vibrate. She retrieves it, struggling, from the outside of her purse, which sits on her left arm, as her portfolio briefcase, embossed with the crest of the Dawinian Government, sits on her right. “Suero,” she answers. “Sra. Suero, your town car awaits in the front of the building,” replies someone on the other line. “Great; I’ll be there shortly.” She ends the call, again struggling to put her phone back into her purse. Finally getting that task done, she opens her door and enters into a hallway, with floors of marble and walls adorned with various paintings of historical events of both Dawinia and the world. Firmly, she closes the door again, not worrying about locking, as it was recently replaced with an biometric auto-lock. Click click. Click click. Her heels echo as she makes her way down the hallway, reaching a set of double doors that opens to the main staircase of the Salón de María, the building where the Ministry of Foreign & Colonial Affairs are located. Descending down the steps, the main doors leading to the outside are opened by guards. She exits the building and enters the awaiting car, moving all of her bags to the side. “A bit bright for a secret meeting, Sra. Suero,” jokingly questions the driver. “Huh, now they'll know for sure I'm snooping around,” she exclaims. They both start to laugh; their witty banter was something of the norm for the two. “And where am I to take you on this very early morning?” “Base Aérea Cuatro Puntos, please, and make it snappy.” “Of course, now sit back and relax; we’ll be there in no time.” As the car starts to move forward and the partition is raised, Alba deeply sighs. “I hate flying over water,” she thinks, starting to comb her hair with her fingers, as is her nervous habit. She already knows she won’t have a nice flight this morning. Edited by Colcintra, Jun 23 2014, 09:50 AM.

(OOC: Lol, typos.) "So, let me understand this, you are able to write off a person who committed ethnic cleansing and even killed people on live television, but you won't excuse rhetoric exchanged between you and Emperor Antonio that even the public has no knowledge of?" Alba scoffs. "What an interesting outlook on life." |

"If Charles was still around I would want something from him! But he's not, and I'm not wanting you guys to have to pay for it! And if I believed that Antonio genuinely cared, I would dismiss this! The thing is that I don't! Our exchanges haven't changed one bit, and you now even have troops in the Divine Isles! And don't even start on how they're there for a war games!"

"And it's now a crime to move troops for military drills within your own borders? Well, find that piece of legislation, so that I may present it to the Emperor at once." Alba stops; she's definitely acting out of character; she knows she has broken decorum. But she's annoyed and bordering on enraged. "Mr. President, let me ask you this, how can one nation defend itself if it can't even train its soldiers? We didn't even try to hide that fact; we did, in fact, send out a letter of awareness to your government." |

"It's not a crime to train troops within your borders! What bothers me is that you threaten us, and then move them as close to us as you legally can! If you just want to train them, why not do it in the mainland?!"

"A tropical climate is something not experienced on the mainland. We train for the extremities as well as the norms. It just so happened that the time period for when the drills would start overlapped this diplomatic faux pas. However, I'm beginning to see the deep disdain you have for Dawinia; did you even plan on agreeing to anything here today?"

"Oh, of course. They decided to train troops in the Isles while we shoot back and forth diplomatically, and it's all by some grand coincidence?! You don't really expect me to fall for that, do you? If you wanted to train them tropically, why not do it in Constante Bay? That's farther south than the Isles! And no, I didn't expect you to make any offers that I'd agree with."

"Again, tropical climate. If you have problems, why haven't you submitted your concerns to the Security Ministry? I'm not involved with that. And if it was supposed to be of malicious intent, it probably would have gone another way." Alba sighs. "Is it safe to assume I'll be leaving Medai with nothing to show for?" |

"Because I've been talked with you, I've talked with the airforce, I've even talked to Antonio! They all say that it's for a war games, and that I've got nothing to worry about! And yes, you won't have anything to show, unless you speak up and tell me what you want."

"Because you don't have anything to worry about. Is it so rare for people to tell the truth? And I have explained what we want." She closes the folder on papers, crossing her hands on top of it. "Alliance or abandonment; take your pick." |

"Since you still have yet to tell me what's going to be expected of us, I will not accept your so-called 'alliance.' Good day. Give Antonio my regards," said the President, standing up.

"I mean, it's pretty straightforward. Allies help each other in times of war, however, it would not be so much incumbent on you to help us, whereas we would come to your aid. You'd get your research; you'd get your army; you'd get some peace of mind. Alba begins to slowly gather her things. "But, I see now you don't want any of that and, well, you've rendered me speechless." Alba finishes packing her stuff away and immediately stands up, starting to walk to the exit of the room. "Thank you for showing me how much one person can waste a monumental amount of time on nothing. I bid you Good Evening; I will escort myself off the premises." Alba immediately left, not intending to give her goodbyes and farewells; she was insulted and offended at the proceeding of this meeting. Upon walking out of the Presidential Palace and into an awaiting car, she makes a quick call to the pilot of her awaiting aircraft. "We're making a detour before heading home. Make provisions to travel to legantus upon my arrival." |
