"Before we move further into the meeting and go to other topics, let's first decide on what we are, yes? Please, if you would all be so kind to voice your official vote between 'League of Castratene' or 'The Castratene Pact.'" "Your Excellency," said Bernhard, as he gestured to Lefkada, "if you would please start us off?" |

Lefkada nodded toward the meeting’s host. “In my opinion, it is better to allude to the previous attempt at a meeting here without directly taking its name; there are poor memories of the proposed Castratene Pact throughout Noverra, after all. I cast my vote for the League of Castratene.”

"Great, and I, as well, vote for 'League of Castratene.' With that said, the majority of us here has voted for it and we shall now be known as such." Bernhard maneuvers in his seat before starting again. "Back to these spying reports. We cannot just express our disgust at something so insensitive to a nation. Something must be done to counter and/or equal the scales. We're not subjects of a world rule of the Gileadans and the faster they accept that, the better our lives, for us and our people, will become." |

Antonio and Fernando looks at each other; they knew what they would do, now with solid evidence of the Gileadan treachery, in Dawinia. Harsh, they know, but necessary. Antonio clears his throat before speaking. "Yes, this can go on no longer. And as such, I do have some suggestions that we've been considering for a while, waiting for the right opportunity. For starters, I believe that we can all agree that on travel bans of any Gileadan vessels to our nations. Now, we will go further to impose full economic embargoes on them, as well as restrictions on their citizens. They will no longer have the ability to enter and/or reside in our nation. A tough price to pay, but necessary to send a message." "Yes, albeit those with residency rights will not have to depart, every other Gileadan else must go. Their businesses must be penalized as well. We will show them what happens when you throw yourself on a friend of the Crown," added Fernando. |

Ambassador Lefkada glanced at Major Korinna, before she frowned and leaned forward to speak to the rest of the delegates. “Achaian Peloponnese is not prepared to fight a war against Gilead,” she said, perhaps unnecessarily. “And there is very little that our nation can do at the moment that would inconvenience Gilead, even for a moment. Certainly Gileadan citizens are not flocking to our shores,” she said with a scoff, “so there is little point in ordering a general deportation. However, we are prepared to deny any Gileadan citizen from any future arrival in the Peloponnese. Moreover…” Lefkada sighed. “The minister of the exterior recently negotiated an agreement with King Gregorius regarding trade and mutual research in Achaian Peloponnese. I understand that Anax Kerameikos corresponded with King Gregorius regarding this espionage matter, and was reasonably pleased with the king’s response; however, as it was explained to me by my basileus, the correspondence in question was useful only to reaffirm friendly relations, and should not be taken at face value. My anax chose to accept King Gregorius’s excuses at the time, considering that the king was offering a modicum of support for future Achaian development at the time. Now, however, we do not need to fear being left alone in the world again.” Lefkada looked around the room pointedly. “Achaian Peloponnese can write off this agreement on the grounds that attending a meeting specifically aimed to bolster the strength of Victorian nations will necessarily make Achaian Peloponnese a more likely target for Gileadan intelligence operations, which King Gregorius acknowledged do occur in those nations that catch its attention, such as Izalith. Allowing a joint research facility on Peloponnesian soil at this point will become untenable, as we will be unable to trust that our fellow researchers and guards from Gilead will be entirely honest with us regarding their purpose in our nation.” |

"Izalith does not currently have any form of trade with Gilead due to their exports failing to meet Izalithian standards. Citizens of Gilead will be made no longer welcome within our borders, waters or airspace." Miorill continued to type away on her laptop as she spoke. The High General nodded once. "Noverra is well aware that firm and authoritative government is the best and most common form of governing. Children are children, adolescents are children and adults are children. The idea that an individual can mature and become enlightened moreso than one living frugally and revering God and nation is naive and reeks of obsession of the self." Telvan leaned forward as she spoke. "The mere notion that the unlearned, selfish, parasitic and lied to should feel like they have a say as corporations pay out their 'representatives' and rule the country as their greed sees fit is unacceptable. It is well known to all present the Gilead is a monarchy in nothing but name and lineage. Just like a democracy they are ruled by the whims and desires of those who hold all of value. In this way, Gilead is more like a current democracy than many other systems. They also approve of and align with democrats as their diplomatic behavior entails, more so than other systems." The High General's arms crossed as she added "All this and considering that the UN is now a utter joke due to their influence and ignorance as well I think it is clear to the majority of the planet that the LoC and a firm stance against pathetic and individual appeasing systems that violently suck the life out of others is necessary. Even Gilead's close ally Legantus makes a habit of alienating and looking down upon systems, cultures and people that refuse to submit to their dogma and opinions. Their little 'sect' or parasitic nations are getting beyond a joke." Miorill came in with some words when the High General finished sharing her loathing of the "free" world. "Izalith is not at this time considering aggressive behavior toward the nation in question however. Note that terminating those that refuse to submit to the embargos and limits put on them concerning our nation is not considered aggressive by our nation. While The Fair Lady frowns upon death, continued lack of vigilance concerning this gross corruption can only lead to misery and death for those unable to defend themselves from the ravenous proboscis of the 'freedom' and 'justice'. For this reason we, acting as her body are prepared to perform necessary counter measures to ensure a better outcome." Although they went on to paint a very critical picture of the situation heavily influenced by their alien culture, Izalith was agreeing with a harsh and critical stance towards Gilead. |

Ambassador Lefkada kept her eyes ahead of her and watched the reactions of the other delegates as the Izalithian representatives spoke, not daring to actually catch those representatives’ attention herself. Beside her, Major Korinna stiffened even as she continued to take notes. Anti-Gileadan sentiment was fine, the ambassador thought, but when the reasoning by which Gilead was denounced could be equally applied to many other nations at that very same table—Achaian Peloponnese most certainly among them—it made for very awkward listening. For Achaian Peloponnese, whose very pro-business attitude was central not only to its economic strategy, but also to its military support system, the Izalithians’ condemnation of corporate power for the sake of social utopia was literally an attack on Achaian national security. ‘I would very much like to know how Izalith has achieved its technological expertise without the backing of either domestic wealth or foreign wealthy friends,’ Lefkada thought to herself. She kept her silence regardless; the League of Castratene could not survive a rupture among its members almost immediately after its inception, after all. |

“Honestly, we care little about this issue. And much like our Achaian member, we are in no position to stage a military attack on Gilead and there is rather little we could do to harm them economically... But we can agree to restrictions on their citizens as restrictions on foreigners entering and leaving are currently in place and I can made a note to detain any Gileadan vessels from our waters and all that.” Cathair leaned forward looking at all the other delegates. “But do you think it would do anything...? I'm not a businessman nor much of a politician but if you are trying to start a siege I think you may be disappointed. Sure, you can restrict trade with Gilead but they are just going to do the same to you. It would be a slow battle and it may end up hurting yourselves more in the process.” Leaning back again Cathair continued. “Or you could take the direct approach and attack. Hopefully you all see the problem that lies with such a plan.” “If I have learned anything about politics back home is that; You can send all the men you want but a well placed blade solves your problems quicker.” Cathair smiles cynically. “Now I’m not saying we necessarily kill anyone but we should consider where Gilead's weaknesses lay and the best way forward. I don't see it in economics or the military.” |

“I agree,” Lefkada said. “Gilead’s weakness, if it has one, will not be found in the military or economic forum. And our measures are not aimed at Gilead’s military more than they are at its international prestige.” The ambassador shook her head. “At the moment, we are striking at what Gileadan elements are within our reach, however ineffectual they might be. However, if you have better ideas, we would like to hear them.” She eyed the Itusian delegate. “You seem to suggest that you have just such a better idea in mind.” |

General Telvan added. "You will find that Gilead's economy will feel the difference when it is segregated from the majority of developed nations on the planet. It also paints a picture that we're not happy with their views or behavior." "The larger issue is convincing your civilians why you're cutting off all the small goods they've become obsessed with for 'no reason'". To be entirely frank after the majority of your nations initiate such an embargo you will most likely have rioting if you tell them that it is because Izalith's sovereignty was being breached by Gilead. Most of them can't find us on a map and simply don't care." Telvan's tone of voice was rather apathetic. "Those seeking to use my nation as an excuse to be harsh towards Gilead may wish to notify their PR departments ahead of time to come up with better reasoning. Besides Dawinia, Austiana and my own country already having pressing issues with the nation in question, none of you really have a reason to react so negatively toward the 'friendly giant' where all the sugary drinks, movies and other media come from." Izalith's current standings with all the nations in LoC were two counts of 'they seem alright' and a whole lot of 'we currently have no relations or dialogue with the nation in question at all'. "When it comes to Gilead, the conglomerates that made sure the king got and stays in power will surely be mad that their profit margins get hewed rather viciously all of a sudden. The only way Gilead would not be effected by such a counter measure would be if they blatantly lied how much damage it was doing and started funneling tax payer money into their big business to stop their actual leaders getting upset. The main issue is anyone who wants to participate who doesn't already have the propaganda to support such a means will start issues with their own fickle populace. I can't stress how important it is for the authorities present to recognize and address these issues in the event of their participation." Telvan did turn to Cathair however. "I know you'll keep in mind that Gilead as an entity is less like a snake with a head to be cut off and more like a giant pit of snakes with multiple breeding females hidden within the large writhing mass. Surgically applying pressure to certain key points would take an immense amount of effort and resources to have a considerable result." "As for bring up an actual offensive, I doubt that thought crossed many minds considering they haven't done anything worth killing people over. Let alone the fact that invading Gilead is nearly an impossible feat despite the number of nations involved in this day and age. A super power isn't a super power for no reason." |

”Militaristic action is not a feasible resolution for this matter, in any capacity. I’d like to think we’re better than brute force, are we not,” said Fernando. “Granted, a lot of us may not trade with them at this moment, however, it’s more precedent than anything else. What does it say to everyone when most of Victorium, or more likely, more than half of the world’s developed powers cease to deal with a nation in both economic and political fields? And to a world that’s increasingly becoming globalized, it would impact them. A steadfast approach of solidarity against them, armed not with guns and tanks, but embargoes and refutations. If their ships cannot refuel in our nations, how will their tankers be able to make the distances to other nations,” questioned Antonío. He stares in the distance for a second, before catching his almost-fleeting thought. “Like I've mentioned, this is what we want for at least our nation, but the more that subscribe to the idea, the more effective it becomes. As one group, we would be able to sustain ourselves through each other, as something like a common trade bloc, perhaps. We are not all self-sustaining, but together, we are able to progress without interference from outside forces, therefore not only weathering the ‘storm’ but progressing through it as well.” |

Louis observed the disscussion, and then said. "Auvernia relies heavily on Gilead's extensive agricultural fields for feeding our population, as our population far outgrew our island's population capabilities. Placing such an embargo will likely elicit a negative response, perhaps an embargo on our own good selves. I'm afraid such an embargo will end in the gutter." |
