"Hm, well, I'd suggest that we all do what's necessary in our respective nations. There's no need to bog ourselves down with a blanket plan that would only be effective for some," said Antonío, "if anything, we can always come back to an agreement for all." |

"Agreed. I will not table this issue and increase unnecessary time spent in meetings, like what was experienced in the Union of Nations," Bernhard sighed at the mere mention of the 'UN.' "Now, as we speak about economics, we move right into our next topic at hand. Let's start...yes; we all have industries and needs for our nations, how do we wish to proceed, as an organization, with trade?" |

Louis took the chance to speak now. Charles had longed for a trade union in Victorium, as Auvernia could capitalize on the laxed restrictions, bring in the filthy lucre - and most needed - materials for the shipbuilding and train manufacturing industry. Louis also carried with him, limited data of the Auvernian ship-building industry dedicated to naval warfare. The large Saint-Denis class carrier, a moderately sized carrier, a missile guided cruiser, and a frigate. This was not the entirety of the line-up, but a taste. These ships were also produced in part by the Dawinians, who assisted in funding, and in actual construction of the ships. These ships were also used in the Dawinian navy. "Your Majesty, I do think that free trade it should be aim for all members of the League of Castratene. As a unified trade block - naturally considering that we go in this direction - we stand stronger, combining our resources, our capital, amongst other things. In addition, we could also perhaps open up the discussion to possible trade agreements of extant products in our countries." |

Antonío brightens his expression, upon hearing of Louis' words. It would be selfish to say that he was the only one to want a sort of trade union, however, it was the desire and hope for the Crown for decades now, well, at least for a continent-wide one. "This idea of a trade bloc amongst this organisation is a marvelous and most beneficial idea. The elimination of tariffs between the members and reducing the trade barriers would only promote lucrative trade for all participants. We all have products that we desire, and well, if established, we'd be able to sustain one another," said Antonío. "Taking a current example, the trade relations between Dawinia & Austiana are quite open, and have been for some time. You'd be able to see that more benefit than harm has come from this agreement," added Fernando. |

Ambassador Lefkada glanced over at Major Korinna, before looking more closely at Emperor Antonio, King Bernhard, and Prince Louis of the major Victorian monarchies arrayed beside her. After a moment to consider her response, she made a decision and moved forward. “Achaian Peloponnese, as I mentioned before, has very few trading relationships with anyone. Achaian Peloponnese has very little to offer in terms of finished products, and instead is most capable of exporting raw materials for use in manufacturing. Nonetheless, we are always interested in gaining new partners for trade—as long as it is made clear that we are never asked to become dependent on trading partners for our own survival. We must remain self-sufficient in almost every regard, or we will become easy targets for any enemy to subdue simply through starving us of our international commerce. At the same time, though, we are not averse to providing our aid to others, nor will we reject the offer of products that will ease our way. And we will certainly never reject a product built elsewhere that might increase our self-sufficiency.” The ambassador looked pointedly at Emperor Antonio and Prince Louis. “The goods that your respective nations might provide, to Victorium or elsewhere, must be shipped from your nations to other markets. Achaian Peloponnese, however, sits upon the bridge between Suran and Nusantara, and extends its commercial reach ever farther eastward. Our industry is fuelled by our own materials; our factories are prepared to furnish whatever the design may call for. And thus Achaian Peloponnese is prepared to stand as a factory for Victorium, in order to facilitate easy shipment of goods both to eastern markets within this proposed trade union and to eastern markets farther abroad.” |

"I believe such a deal would be most beneficial. Should I regain my throne I will do my best to open Valkany's large oil, precious stone and uranium reserves as well as any products of our famous luxury industries to the other League of Castranete nations to help cover their needs and help Valkany's own economy grow." Andrew smiled seeing that the League could actually turn into something benefactory for all; |

"Izalith has had exports in mind for a while now to increase national profit and generate culture spread over seas. Such an endeavor would obviously match up well with those goals." Miorill's filtered voice was positive in it's short response. |

'Like a young piglet coming to its mother', thought Louis about the Achaian delegate's statements. "Auvernia can certainly offer its strong shipbuilding and small aeronautics industry to the League. Likewise, as our Valkanian cousin has suggested, we could also provide oil. We have written permission from the leaders of these companies to negotiate sales, amongst other things." Louis paused after he said that, and soon directed a question at the Crown Prince. "Your Majesty, when will you regain your throne? Here you make us promises about oil, stones, and other items. I'd certainly like to have some certainty on your claims." Some of what Louis said was motivated by a genuine desire to know, and partly to annoy the Crown Prince. Louis did not like Charles's actions, in which he allowed the Crown Prince to leave Auvernia. "No nation, no purpose being here," thought Louis, as he awaited an answer. Andrew put a file on top of the summit table. OPERATION AUGUSTUS - ORDER OF NAUTILUS - TOP SECRET "Your Majesty, I believe most of you met my father at least once in your lifes. And you knew he was a man of his word that would never make promises without keeping them. About a week before this summit I was contacted by certain persons concerning an operation to bring me back to the throne. Influencial chiefs of the Intelligence Service, Generals, Amdirals and even simple people. You see VKIP's electoral victory and the referendum on Republicanism were rigged. And they have proof from the inside which they will leak when their plan reaches its final stages. VKIP's leader has tried to bring Republicanism to Valkany many times by similar means. Thsi time he took it upon himself. And now the High Consul shall see the Monarchy restored once and for all after his head hits the floor. I do not make promises because I hope to regain my throne. I make them because I will, with the might of a thousand tanks and a million loyal citizens, far than the petty minority which supported the Republicanists. Merely 12% to be exact, compared to a 68% if not more in favour of the Crown to be exact." Andrew declared, happy that someone had finally given him the chance to bring this up; [OOC:] Well Andrew is about to return to Valkany, as I just posted. We can however have this RP even now since it takes place before Andrew's return and, spoiler alert, Coronation

Telvan shifted in her seat, lifting her masked face up and giving a firm nod as Prince Andrew went over his statistics. "I see you have a better grasp on the situation than originally assumed. I wonder how much shit the Queen's going to give me for having such bad intuition and being rude... Oh my..." Telvan dejectedly sighed as she leaned back in her chair, evidently not caring in the slightest that she was sharing her mind with the entire LoC at once. Miorill merely giggled, her respirator within her mask making it sound rather odd and cute. "Izalith has quite a large hand in the battery market as well as luxury ingredients for food and beverages, among other things. I'm sure the potential benefit of our trading will outweigh the slight confusion in adapting to a system such as ours... Izalith plans on trading goods for credit which it can then use to purchase your nations exports. Currently expenditure rising will conflict with The Fair Lady and the Governor General's current emergency act focusing on keeping our huge influx of refugees housed and fed... as I'm sure you've all heard of considering it's one of the only things the left praises our nation for." Miorill laughed again, she wasn't very serious. However her presence was warm and friendly, a great diplomatic asset for the rather alien Izalithians to utilize. She may not have much influence or progress on the stuffier type of person however. "I think Izalith's current stance within the LoC is a focus on strengthening our nations and focusing on prosperity rather than being negative toward those who disagree with us." High General Telvan was nodding as Miorill spoke. Who added on the end "Ask not the sparrow how the eagle soars." "I have come to believe raised suspicions of Gilead will be enough. To be honest almost all competitive nations take part in some form of espionage. To sabotage the economies of other LoC nations, such as Auvernia, over a rude indiscretion is simply wrong. We would be interested in helping ween Auvernia off it's food dependency from Gilead however Izalith has boosted production just so it can barely meet it's own needs. The addition the state of Sadrith and it's over 1 million refugees was met with a zero tolerance declaration on homelessness and starvation by The Fair Lady..." The High General sighed at the naive wish that her entire nation was working to the bone to attempt to achieve as they spoke. "As you can understand Izalith would greatly benefit from opportunities to make and circulate capital, resources and even culture and tourism through our esteemed nations. Thus that will be our focus." |

Ambassador Lefkada narrowed her eyes at the Izalithian delegates. “This sparrow is not particularly interested in the eagle’s soar, as much as the fact that the eagle might choose the sparrow below as a particularly tasty snack,” she said firmly. “This is not a matter of disagreement. This a matter of violation. To simply accept that someone is entitled to peek into our business whenever they decide, for no reason other than that they are more powerful than we are, is unconscionable. Perhaps the world should be pleased that Gilead chose to target a nation as patient as Izalith; had they proved to be spying against Achaian Peloponnese, we would currently be at war.” Lefkada turned her attention to the rest of the room. “That is not to say that the anax actively encourages conflict against Gilead or any other nation in Noverra. Quite the opposite, in fact: Conflict produces unacceptable risks, especially to a nation whose small population cannot make up for its technological disadvantages through numbers. Nonetheless, those same vulnerabilities bring us to this point of anger. The day that Achaian Peloponnese passes off the notion of international spying as ‘the right of the strong over the weak’ is the day that Achaian Peloponnese bows its head as a vassal of Gilead in all but name!” The ambassador glanced back at the Izalithian high general for a moment. “That day will not come while I live to see it.” |

The High General stared at Lefkada until she was finished, but seemed to lose interest. "If you believe this is a question of patience, you're wrong. Also despite Gilead being a super power it was the sparrow in the metaphor. Izalith is ignoring the NFZ violation as we caught all of the perpetrators, following the issue further is unnecessary and a waste of time." "In the age were Legantus and Gilead corporations can already take pictures from space of everything under the sun and share it over the internet it pays to replace paranoia with a sense of confidence. Izalith destroyed Gilead property and captured it's citizens, yet they didn't declare war on us? That would be because Gilead understands the situation. I doubt their reaction would have been any different even if we killed the spies in question." "As long as Izalith is focused on uplifting the living standards of the several million refugees and homeless it has taken in I think you'll find we'll be unable to place our pride and fear of being watched by the big scary powers of this world with yours. You seem to forget that we efficiently ended the spying attempts against us yet claim we accepted it? Dealing with issues with grace is an asset. Considering we were also able to utilize the issue to remove ourselves from the UN body without demonizing ourselves or implying we were in the wrong was also a boon." "Gilead may enjoy reminding everyone that they're on top, however until they actually invade someone to allow their corporate overlords to vampirize the victims assets irrational paranoia is not the stance Izalith will take in reaction to their attempts at manipulating the global stage. We're not ignoring the threat, we also aren't over reacting. I would appreciate if you didn't take my words out of context." Telvan wasn't very fond of politicians. |

"I believed that we were going to begin a discussion on trade, and not open old wounds over the Gileadian spying incidents. If this matter was pressing, we could have returned to it after we completed our schedule." Louis thought, as Lefkada seemed to prepare a new batch of words at Telvan again. |

“I place your words in the context of the current situation,” Lefkada replied, “and that context is that Gilead spied on your nation and you, admittedly upon ending the immediate threat, made a political point that no one bothered to listen to, while Gilead’s prince, far from feeling ashamed of his actions, stood by and watched your representative depart from the Union of Nations, secure in his knowledge that his nation could act again as it had been doing already without consequence.” The ambassador shrugged her shoulders. “Izalith is free to react as it sees fit; Achaian Peloponnese would react otherwise, in the interest of its national security. Perhaps you consider that an overreaction. But we owe the very existence of our nation to a war against a foreign invader. Not six months ago we watched powerful and ‘civilized’ nations take full advantage of the weakness of their neighbors for the sake of a conquest that the rest of Noverra has done almost nothing to alleviate--despite six months’ worth of condemnations, of course.” The ambassador scowled. “We, at least, know better than to put our confidence in anything less than a solid and ever-ready defense of our nation.” Lefkada waved absently around the room, taking in all the present diplomats. “We are here because we have decided that grace is no longer useful without action to go along with it. Grace, cajoling, and begging will only have so much sway with nations like Gilead. If we want them to change their policies--and as you just pointed out, High General, due to their technology alone, that is the only way we can be free of this threat--then we will have to force them to do so. Otherwise nations without the technology to match Gilead and other powerful nations like it will have no recourse at all.” The ambassador glanced at Emperor Antonio of Dawinia at this. “As an aside, Your Majesty, since we were earlier discussing trade at this table, Achaian Peloponnese would be most pleased to discuss matters with you in the near future in order to alleviate this technological disparity.” |

'Is it over?', thought Louis. Lefkada's argument seemed to be over. As she asked Antonio to please continue with the trade deals, he decided to say something else to back Lefkada's request, as so to lend more power behind statement, so that others would be discouraged by talking about the spying. "Yes Cousin, we would like to talk about trade.". |
