Catedral de Hamunaptra (Cathedral of Hamunaptra) Hamunaptra, Dawinia “...nunc et in hóra mórtis nóstrae. Ámen.” Her Imperial Highness, Carmen Idoya, Infanta of Dawinia, crosses herself and arises from kneeling in front of the cathedral’s grand alter. She curtsies and turns, starting down the isle to the entrance of the cathedral. Before she exists, she dips her finger into one of the fonts and again crosses herself. Entering the awaiting car, her lady-in-waiting immediately starts up conversation. “I trust your prayers were good, Your Highness?” “Yes, thank you. I hope I didn’t keep you long enough,” responded Carmen. “No, of course not, Your Highness! You couldn’t inconvenience me at all!” “Driver, to the Palace, please. Anyway, don’t fret, dear, I’m the nice royal, remember?” They two women laugh, as the driver nods and complies, conducting the car forward down the street, in the mini convoy. They are whisked through the cities busy and winding roads, usually filled with traffic, which wasn’t a problem due to the escorts. In a journey that would usually take 15 minutes, they arrived at the entrance of the palace in about seven minutes. As they barely entered the building, a young man with a folded and partially sealed paper arrives in the path of the Infanta, bowing deeply. “Your Highness,” the man starts, “a letter from the Emperor.” Still bowing, he hands the letter forward to Carmen. She grabs the letter, responding. “Thank you, sir. You may go.” As the man scurries off, Carmen continues her walk, now opening the letter that was given to her, as her lady walked behind a few paces, as tradition dictates. It was a letter addressed to the Kensoian Emperor, penned by Carmen’s father, Emperor Antonío, inquiring to proceed with high-level diplomatic talks between the nations. At first glance, Carmen was confused. Why would she receive a completed letter that’s not addressed to her? In his own hand? She again read it, now sitting on a chair in the grand hall. Then she sees it. Immediately, she jumps up in excitement. “What is it, Your Highness‽” The lady rushes to the aide of Carmen. “The Emperor is allowing me to finally do on a diplomatic mission!” “That’s great news! Come, let’s celebrate with some desserts, but first, we transmit that letter, mkay?.” The lady hooks her arm around the Infanta’s arm and starts to drag her away to the dining room. Letter to Heavenly Emperor Aquila Cyneric Tenskwatawa Lygatto of Kenso

A strangled cry rises from the small, desolate office's window making the officers, couriers and servants underneath stop in their tracks. After hearing what could only be described as an avalanche of paperwork, everyone quickly go about their business, dismissing the sound as the wind and leaves. Aquila lies on the floor of his office, papers covering him. Staring up at the ceiling for a moment, a finely adorned paper falls onto his face. "....Oh." He reaches into a pile of papers next to him and removes a small mobile phone, dialing his secretary. "Jung. We have another foreign guest coming; a noble this time. Make all the necessary preparations and then inform your brother, his unit should be back from the Games by now." Spoiler: click to toggle

The Duchess’ Residence Anguiña, Nadal “Mi hija,” exclaims Duquesa Franchesca Orar de Llabravo Palla of Nadal, seeing Infanta Carmen, in her sitting room. Carmen goes and embraces the Duchess, well, her mother, for a short while, before she pulled back; they both took a seat that surrounds a small table, laden with finger foods and a kettle of tea, some sugar cubes, cream, and cups. “What a surprise this is, Carmen; tell me, how is everything in the capital?” “As good as it can be. It’s so lovely there, I don’t understand why some would dislike it so.” Carmen pours herself some tea, adding a touch of crème and two sugar cubes, mixing it with her spoon. She finally takes a sip, setting it back down when she was done. “I’m going to be straightforward, as I don’t have so much time.” Franchesca’s face turns into a worried expression. “Are you sick‽ What’s the matter?” “No no, nothing like that, mother. Father has allowed me to finally act as a diplomat, after I’d stopped all the begging. And not with a lowly person of station either; I fly to Kenso after I depart from here, expecting to meet one of their members of the ruling family. It’s so grea—“ “Hijo de puta! Your father thinks he could just send you off to some foreigner without consulting me‽” “Mother, calm down, why do you always have to go on the offensive with father? He is your Emperor as well.” “My sweet, sweet innocent child. You have only just began to understand the workings of this world. He’s not what you thin—“ “You’re just bitter because you’re not Empress and father divorced you! I only came here to check on you and receive your blessing, but you’re still on about him. Please, can you just pretend this one time!” The both sit in a period of silence, before Franchesca starts again. “You’re right. It’s not of my station to act as such, nor is it according to out religion,” she sighs before continuing, “I’m sorry, mi hija.” She rises from her seat and heads to where Carmen is, pulling her up and hugging her, now crying. “Excuse my emotions, they are all over the place right now.” She releases her, now just grasping her shoulders now. “At least I’m not going west,” jokes Carmen. They both laugh. “Well I shan’t keep you any longer. Carmen, I pray that you fulfil all the charges of your diplomatic mission with great success, and that your travels are safe and fast.” “Thank you, mother. I’ll stay longer after I return from Kenso, promise.” They both smile, giving each other the typical Dawinian greeting/goodbye, a cheek-to-cheek ‘kiss’ on both sides. Franchesca walked Carmen to her awaiting vehicle, waving goodbye as it speed away, as she hopes for safe journey for her daughter. 16 Hours Later Granim-Dhirim International Transportation Center, Kenso Carmen was shaken awake as the wheels of the Aeruña 787-8I VIP landed onto the runway. As the aircraft continues it landing roll, turning off onto a rapid-exit taxiway, she makes her way to the washroom to freshen up. Her flight was fulfilling, to say the least. She was able to read about Kenso in a certain capacity, who and what their Imperial Family were, their religious practise, mannerisms and customs, etc..., as well as gossip with some of her schoolmates back home (always making time for that). She feels the aircraft come to a complete stop, which only rushes her, knowing that she has a short time to meet the opening of the cabin door (although, they only open it on her command, so there’s not really a reason to rush). She quickly finished washing her face and applies only a light amount of makeup (eyeliner, mascara and a bit of lipstick; nothing to overwhelming), and heads out into the main cabin, walking to the cabin door, grabbing her purse/briefcase along the way. As she nods, one Imperial Guard opens the door; she proceeds out and down the air-stairs, followed by a small cache of guards (five Imperial Guards). She walked to a waiting party for her, wind blowing her jet-black hair back and dark red, like sanguine, dress back; her gracefulness was only extenuated. She lightly bows her head, before speaking. “Good Day; thank you for arranging such an entrance for my arrival.” She smiles, showing off her 1000-watt smile. From what she could tell (and feel), this will be a promising trip. |

"Soldiers! Attention!", a middle aged officer with an eyepatch calls out, his voice hoarse and rough. He stands next to the Emperor's black haired son, who is in his own military uniform. Exhaustion can clearly be shown on his face, despite the bright smile the young man has on his face. Consus claps the man on his shoulder, before striding forward to meet the Infanta, bowing at his waist when he is 10 feet away, not looking up at her. "Your Highness, it's my honour to welcome you to Kenso. On behalf of the Heavenly Jade Emperor, I shall be the one that will represent our nation's interests." Following after Consus's lead, all the soldiers with the exception of the officer bow at their waists to the Infanta. "Welcome to Kenso!" They all say at once. |

Carmen grabs the sides of her dress, and curtosys in front of the bowing man, recognizing that it was the Heir to the Kensoian Throne. "Thank you, Your Highness, and company. I am truly elated to have been welcomed and offered the opportunity to experience, first hand, this wonderful nation." She had seen many photos of royal families throughout Noverra, but it was always different to finally meet someone in person; a chord was strung in her, upon looking (more like peeking first) at Prince Consus. After arising from her courtesy, she proceeds forward holding up her dress, putting her hand up to signal for her guards to stay put, closing the distance between her and the Prince. "I am Carmen Idoya de Luçatta-Heilig, Infanta of Dawinia. I'm pleased to meet your company," she says, trying not to blush. She knows why she's here and must act accordingly. |

Consus rises, an unspoken signal for the soldiers to rise also; the middle aged officer moving forward to stand diagonal of the Prince. Consus blinks for a moment before shaking his head, a pleasant smile coming to his face as he gives Carmen a once over. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance then...Your Highness." The dark haired man shifts, somewhat uncomfortable with the formality. Unlike the others of the Heavenly and Pure Family, he decided to enlist as any of the citizens would, rather than simply being placed into a position of power as is customary. "If you will come with me, we shall be on our way to the Palace of the White Clouds. It is a bit of a trip from here to there because of the two cities and the rather large populations." He pauses for a moment, looking back at the officer and sighing. "Unfortunately, I must ask that you only bring a few of your own guards with you. I'm somewhat ashamed to say that we do not have enough room for all of them in our transportation. However a vehicle will come to bring them to your quarters soon after we leave." |

Carmen couldn't help but to blush and smile, despite trying to hold it back. It was really unlike her, especially with the importance of this diplomatic meeting. She bows her head slightly, to excuse herself, and turns around, nodding for her guard to come to her presence. "Digui als homes a romandre aquí amb l'avió, fins a més de transport està disponible per obtenir la resta de tots vostès. Me n'aniré amb dos guàrdies ara, (Tell the men to stay here with the aircraft until further transport is available to get the rest of you all. I'll go with two guards now,)" orders Carmen, her voice sounding out with cheerfulness. "Però, Su Altesa, jo no (But, Your Highness, I don't)--" "Anem a la meva voluntat ser fet (Let my will be done)," she responded, more authoritative. The guard bows and turns to gather and alert the men, sending two to accompany Carmen. She turns back around to Prince Consus. "Now that that has been taken care of, please lead the way." |

"Of course, your Highness." With a hand signal, Consus dismisses the soldiers to their respective vehicles in the convalcade , himself and his officer moving to the limousine parked between two armoured vehicles. Quickly ushering the Infanta and her guards inside, the Prinxe enters afterwards, sliding into the seat next to Carmen. "Carver, we're all ready back here." With a curt nod, tehe eyepatched officer moves to the driver seat and follows after the departing military vehicles. "Pardon me,, your highness, but do you mind telling me about yourself? Unlike my siblings , I would rather rely upon my own impression and what I learn from the person rather then what the reports give me." |

"Oh...," said Carmen. The questioned startled Carmen for a second, as per usual, would ask about the state of affairs, or just not at all. "Well, where to start?" She chuckles, before continuing. "I'm currently 19 and the eldest of my siblings, Infante Daniel and Infanta Sofía. I'm attending the Imperial University of Dawinia, for a degree in International Relations. It's different from the normal family expectations but hey, I like to do things my way sometimes too, you know? They may have not wanted me to attend IUD, to which anyone with the right qualifications can attend, but I wanted to take a step away from the regality and see how the common person gets things done." Carmen shifts a bit; introspection on the spot was something she wasn't really good at, since she was more caring for others more than herself, selfless over selfish. She starts to play with hair, twirling it, while she continued on. "I..like to study languages. I can comfortably to say that I'm fluent in five languages; your language, if I may, was difficult but rewarding in the end. Hm, and also, although I may not seem to, I thoroughly enjoy football. Some protest but oh, how I love to play whenever I get the chance, which is not often, but still." She laughs, thinking over her last statement. "But please, tell me more about yourself. I, too, like to hear first-hand information form the source." |

Hesitating for a moment, Consus nods his head before gaining a somewhat distant look. "I'm sure you know, but I am the Prince of the Polar Star, the heir to the Throne of the Heavens. As the eldest male child, I am currently enlisted in the military as per our nation's law. My younger brother is set to begin his military service when he returns from whatever task the Heavenly Emperor sent him on. My sisters on the other hand, assist my father in his duties as leader of the nation until it is their time to enlist.I apologise that I am not as...educated as you are. I have decided to mostly follow the tradition of my forefathers, barring of course my decision to enlist the same as the common person rather than as a royal." Consus looks at Carmen, the corner of his mouth twitching upward in a half-grin. "I'm sorry you decided to learn Kensoan. Truthfully, the only ones that speak it anymore are the last vestiges of the natives, the Royal Family, and religious institutions for Taoism. Fortunately, all three of them are intertwined even if they do make up some of the smallest minorities in the nation." |

"That's an interesting concept," Carmen responds, "to have the royal ruling house enlist into the armed forces; your decision to proceed in the manner you chose is in its right to be commended. Personally, I'd like to think it gives you some sense of, hm, tangible service to your nation and people. As the years toiled on, the militaristic charistic wanted in our ruler has dwindled. Sadly enough, conscription has come to an end since Primary Law came into effect." She stops, realizing she may fall guilty to lèse-majesté by fault of her own. "Please, don't apologize, your Highness. You'll learn and find out there's more to me that what it seems; I'm quite fun in other things, mind you." 'Damn it,' she thinks to herself; 'poor phrasing, poor...' "And yes, it was one of the reasons that I ventured to learn it. As well as the fact that talking to another person in their native tongue makes for better, and, usually, more genuine and warm conversation. And as, from what I've taken in, why not learn the language of such a wonder nation as this?" |

"It's simply to show that despite being 'holy'" Consus lets out a slight sigh at the word holy "Even the Royal Family will contribute towards the benefit of our nation. Every citizen is required to serve once they reach maturity." Consus smiles pleasantly after a pause, processing the Infanta's words. "I am looking forward to seeing what you are fun in, Your Highness. Frankly, I'm rather partial to music myself, just as you seem to be enamored with the learning of languages; and I must say, your flattery of Kenso will get you quite far here. We're all rather taken with our land despite the problems found here. Even the refugees seem to like it, although I imagine it's due to reasons that are not shared with those of us that were born here." Placing his chin in his hand, Consus looks out the window as the metropolis seemingly vanishes as they convoy passes through a gate, instead being replaced with a forest of high trees. The car pulls up to the palace's courtyard, guards and servants awaiting outside the door in lines, each bowing with a hand over their heart. |

"Ah, I see. That's quite a gesture for those so high." Carmen smiles, looking to the outside to hide her embarrassment. "Yes...I could tell. The pride for your nation is immense, as to the natives and nationals that I've encountered both in Dawinia and abroad. It's different from most others and, quite honestly, it's a breath of fresh air. I now see the reason why many of us hold Kenso and its people to such high regard." She was relieved as she saw them arriving to their destination, as she wanted to conclude the diplomatic talks as fast as she could, to further explore the lands. But of course, she was aware of where and what she was doing, letting that thought slip away as she prepares herself for what's to come. As she sees Prince Consus exit the car, having the door opened for his exit, she quickly attends to herself, via her pocket mirror, making sure that she [still] looked presentable and not too overbearing. Satisfied with herself, she replaces the mirror into her bag and beckons to the driver. He nods and signals to the outside; someone opened the car door for Carmen. Smiling brightly, she steps out, assisted by one of the Palace's many servants. "Thank you," Carmen says, still smiling and ever so slightly tipping her head, not to the extent of how she would acknowledge another of her station but as a measure to ensure the person understood. After all, a smile (and kindness) is the same in all languages. Holding her purse/portfolio, she continues forward towards the entrance of the grand palace, while walking with the Prince. "My, what a lovely palace, and to think I haven't even seen it in its entirety." She chuckles, continuing to follow alongside the Prince, further (well, more closer) to their destination. |

"The palace is as old as the country itself. Most of Granim has been built around the palace and the forest surrounding it. It serves as a distinction between the sprawling metropolis that makes up the area. According to the founders of both our religion and nation, the Palace of the White Clouds serves as the primary temple of the Heavenly Jade Emperor." Consus pauses beside a door that is flanked by two guards and a maid, each bowing to the Prince. Quickly stepping forward, the officer speaks quietly to the maid, who with a curt nod strides off, no doubt to prepare the Infanta's guard's quarters. Smiling pleasantly at Carmen, Consus quickly steps into the small meeting room, taking a seat in the chair directly next to the head of the table, his officer/aide taking a place behind him. The two watch as Carmen and her guards fill in the seats. "So, Your Highness, where shall we begin? I can assure you that in my position of representing Kenso today, that my actions reflect that of the wishes of the Heavenly Emperor." |

”And what a nice touch and purpose that both the palace and forest serve, both temporal and spiritual; truly it tends to boggle the mind that a structure foraged by hands long ago still stands tall and strong to this day. Heh, they call those before us ‘primitives’ but they had something right.” Carmen dwells on her words, continuing to follow the Prince to wherever they were going, although that was short lived, as she glanced up, returning a smile to Prince Consus, falling behind as they head into the meeting room. She takes her seat, placing her hand up to stop her two guards from seating themselves and to dismiss themselves to the outside of the door. Finally getting comfortable and setting her things upon the table, she begins. “Well, we’re here on the premise to foster relations between our familial Houses, and in turn, our States. Having not a single positive relationship on this side of the world, it was not only the most viable choice but must valued and desired to open diplomatic talks for our nations. And oh, I hope you don’t mind I dismissed my guards to the outside of the room.” |
