It was a typical day for the Foreign Affairs Minister, then something hit him. Acratania in all of its glory managed to stay out of the League of Crowns. Now, in no way did he think they'd join Gilead as allies or partners, but he did want to get to know these seemingly sensible Victorium players better. After all, they held insular territories close to home, and he new how uneasy Gregorius always was about foreign powers being so close to the Homeland. He simply hoped their blood ties with Dawinia wouldn't cloud judgement too much.

The weather in the capital was quite normal for the time of year; strong winds made loose clothing pesky and both handed steering necessary. The city had recently been hit by a cold front and was now sitting under a stagnant high pressure system, enjoying the mostly cloudless skies and the surprisingly merciful sun. Ministerial House The Foreign Affairs Minister had his office prepared, although it only really needed a little dusting, for his much anticipated meeting with his Acratanian counterpart. Even the King dropped by to check in on him and review his plans one last time. Minister Banks understood the gravity of situation well enough, but he couldn't shake the feeling that this meeting would bare no fruit. Nevertheless, he assured himself, an attempt is far better than sheer indolence on the behest of superstition. HeavenGate Intl Airport The foreign dignitary's plane forced its rubber onto the tarmac at a decent time, putting the timing right in place for the meeting to begin at the published time. In some other Gileadan cities, one might consider that traffic might stifle such hopes for timeliness, but the roads of the Capital had been known for its ever moving, free flowing traffic, a personal project of the first Transportation Director under Gregory's presidency. As the plane made its way around, the Minister readied himself. He was happy to finally get to show his knowledge of the Acratanian language, as he rarely had the chance, or at least a chance to do so and have someone else understand what the heck he was saying. HeavenGate Intl Airport, HeavenGate, United Kingdom of Gileadan States André Bresse sighed as the plane began its descent. It had been a long flight, but it was relaxing, compared to the preceding days and weeks. Sitting behind him, also looking out the window, was his assistent Jean-Paul Delloux. To say that he was a humble man was an understatement. He had worked so hard for his part. Every single day, since he was first selected for a minor position as assistant of the Duke. As the plane touched down on the landing strip, he adjusted his tie. It was almost time... "We are landing!" said the Duke |

Since it was Sunday, the Acratanians had the privilege of being greeted by an unimpressive throng of Gileadans. Most simply wanted to see the foreigners in person and weren't sure whether to treat them like they would the Dawinians or the Legantians. Either way, they were too busy shielding their faces from the onslaught of leaves and weed pollen brought by the shifting gusts of wind. Minister Addison Banks held his left hand adjacent to his forehead as a shield. A smile appeared on his face as the aircraft made its way to where he was standing. The cars were waiting just behind him with both nations' flags waving proudly in the air. |

Addison was smiling mainly because he would be relieved from standing in the horrid winds. Although, he was also pleased at the idea of speaking with a Victorium power which was not completely aligned with the malignant Red Empire. The League of Croons, which so many govt officials now joking called them, was disgusting in his view. Most people didn't like the idea of harnessing anti-Gileadan sentiment in one political body, but he was more off-out by the alienation of nations which he thought were once peaceful or friendly with Gilead: Achaian Peloponnese, Itius, Auvernia.[1] With a brief sigh of relief and anticipation, almost stolen by the eastern wind, Addison walked forward a step as the Duke stepped down onto the ground and spoke. While it was customary for the Gileadan representative to speak first when accepting an arriving dignitary, he disregarded this and kept a hospitable smile, "The pleasure is our United Kingdom's. Please, do come with me. It's only a short drive to the Ministerial House where we shall begin our official conversations." [1] This is is own opinion as an RP character. OOC wise I know Auvernia never trusted Gilead and that Achaian is suspect of any and all powers and is only sticking with the LoC due to their vicinity. |

Ministerial House, HeavenGate, United Kingdom of Gileadan States Altogether the delegation from Acratania encompassed about three men and a couple of women – both of the honourable and less honourable kind – who had travelled to Gilead. In the the Ministerial House, Duke André said "His Majesty King Guillôme II is most delighted to be council with His Majesty King Gregory through this conference and he wishes to impart his warmest regards to His Majesty. It is his, and my own, hope that you can do so not only with these warm regards but also with a fair agreement.!" Duke André Bresse said. |
