Mailliotbourg Royal Airport, Mailliotbourg, Duchy of Artesmia, Kingdom of Acratania At Mailliotbourg airport, what greeted the royal delegation was what had greeted many foreign nobles and leaders who had come to the Kingdom: a line of Gendarmerie on the tarmac, in parade dress, with a few limousines and motorcade of more Gendarmerie awaiting them. The government official sent to greet them was Sir Philippe Soult, Former First Minister and Lord Speaker of the Baronial Council to receive the Dawinian Crown Prince. Some considered him the second-most powerful man in the Kingdom, because of the sway and advice he gave to both Guillôme I and Guillôme II. In some part this was true - Sir Philippe wrote the King's speeches and gave him advice on how to handle governmental affairs, although much of it was the King himself. He and the current First Minister are enemies of long date. The heat from the tarmac rose up, causing Sir Philippe to wipe some sweat from his brow and dust off a little speck of something that had fallen upon the sleeve of the Acratanien uniform. It was a pleasing sight when he saw the expected aircraft arrive, landing on the ground and making its way slowly and carefully over to the line of limos. Edited by Wendmark, Oct 16 2014, 03:29 PM.

Autopista AC-1 Puerto Caimán, Caltrata Eight Kilometres Away from Aeropuerto Internacional de Puerto Caimán "Hurry up," exclaimed Daniel Cristóbal León de Luçatta-Heilig, Crown Prince of Dawinia, to the driver of his car. The driver accelerates, picking up a radio to communicate with the cars in front of him in the motorcade. Soon enough, the environment seemed to be blurring by, car after car, tree after tree. He didn't want to be late; he didn't need to be late for his next appointment, but it may very well come to that, if he doesn't board his plane within the next ten minutes. Seeing a sign that reads 'Aeropuerto (Terminales Norte) - 2KM,' he searches for his phone, dialing a number once he retrieves it. "Buenos días; prepare the plane for immediate departure. Eta, 2-3 minutes." The driver, naturally, overheard the snippet of the conversation, and, again, increased speed, as the motorcade adapted. Daniel becomes engrossed with his phone, checking his email and going over the weather; looks like clear skies between here and Acratania. What seemed to only be a few moments, the car comes to a stop. "Why did we sto--oh. Great job," Daniel said, as he looks up from his phone to take in his surroundings, seeing that his plane, a Aeruña 747-8V, a heavily modified alternate of the -8i, had its engines already spurring and were prepared to depart; all that was needed was for him to be on the plane. Grabbing his bag, he hastily opens the car door, not waiting for anyone to do it, and proceeds over to the airstairs to board his plane; two groups of three officers of the Imperial Guard flanked the stairs, saluting him as he walk past and up to the cabin door. As soon as he made his way into the cabin, one of the two flight attendants closed the cabin door, cross-checking to make sure that the doors were secured. He was starting to make his way up the stairs, to the upper deck, however stopped and turned around, to gain the flight attendants attention. "Ladies, I do not require anything right now except sleep. Be sure not to wake up until we get to Mailliotbourg, alright?" They both tilt their head and curtsy in unison; Daniel turns back around and up the stairs. Closing the door at the top of the stairs, he drops his bag and removes his shoes, following with his clothing, as he heads to the bathroom, where a full-sized shower adornes the ornate bathroom. About ten minutes later, he exits the shower, drying off, and putting some pants; all that's needed to sleep for a bit. 'Jumping' into the plush king-sized bed that awaited, he stares at the ceiling for a few moments, before turning onto his side; before his eyes completely closed, he could see the world whiz by, the clouds, white and puffy, zooming past. And with that, he falls asleep, peacefully. Two Hours, Twenty Minutes later Daniel was shaken awake by the plane's wheels hitting the runway, abnormally hard. As he sits up, gathering his bearings the plane rolls down the runway, as it slows itself with its wheel and speedbrakes. He realizes that he's landed in Acratania, awoken, which makes him a little annoyed that his orders weren't followed. But that wasn't important, he only had, at the most, seven minutes to refresh and prepare himself, as the plane taxis to its staging area. He rapidly rolls out of his bed, jolting to his new clothing, that was brought up from the lower deck while he was sleeping. He puts on his sanguine-red shirt and a solid-colour tie to match, with black cufflinks that have the coat of arms of his station as Crown Prince of Dawinia. The come the pants and belt, just after he rolled his socks on, and then the belt. Three minutes. Putting on his suit jacket, he looks over himself in the mirror he was standing in front of, making sure he was presentable. Five minutes. Shoes, on. Livery badgers of honour, pinned. Lint-free, affirmative. He was ready, to no surprise of himself. After using some mouthwash, washing his face and combing his hair, he finally leaves the upper deck, heading down to the main cabin. As he descends down the stairs, he prepares to chastise the flight attendants, however stops himself as he sees the cabin in disarray. "What happened here‽" "Your Highness," said one of the flight attendants, curtsying, "we incurred severe turbulence on our descent into Mailliotbourg-Royal. We were commanded by the pilot to take our seats, as things were being tossed left and right." Seven minutes. Noise is heard at the cabin's forward-centre door, then a knock, letting the crew know that the airstairs have been secured. The other flight attendant, who happened to be near the door, goes and opens the door, letting in the beaming sunlight, and the warm temperature. "Well, I guess I can sleep through anything then," replied Daniel, laughing along with the others. "Anyway, farewell till a later time." "Your Highness," they say in unison, curtseying in their spot as Daniel makes his way off the plane. Just as in Puerto Caimán, two groups of three officers of the Imperial Guard flank the sides, saluting. As he makes his way through them, the leave their position and being to follow the Crown Prince, as they were his detail with his visit to Acratania. He sees the awaiting welcome party, lined just ahead, with vehicles behind them. As he got closer, he proceed to the man he recognized, the one who is officially greeting the Crown Prince: Monsieur Philippe Soult. "Monsieur Soult, what a pleasure it is to finally meet you in person," said Daniel, putting his best smile on. |

Mailliotbourg, Duchy of Artesmia, Kingdom of Acratania "Greetings, Your Highness. It is an honor to greet you to the Kingdom of Acratania. I am Sir Philippe Soult, Former First Minister and Lord Speaker of the Baronial Council, and personal assistant to His Royal Majesty King Guillôme II." He had to pause, thinking how much his titles had grown in the past two years. Motioning to the limos, Sir Philippe continued,"If Your Higness will join me in the first limo, your ministers may follow us in the vehicles behind." The officers opened up, snapping into salutes as Sir Philippe moved aside, motioning for Prince Daniel Cristóbal. He stepped in, the Gendarmerie shutting the doors behind them. He sat beside the Prince. After a few minutes, the motorcycles of the Gendarmerie revved up, and the limos started to move forward. They traveled through Mailliotbourg, going through the busy streets, the speed maintaining its pace save for a few slow downs, one time because of a stranded vehicle. The trip even took them by a bridge over the river that gave a great view of the famous Ponte Mailliot, one of the oldest bridges in the city. "His Royal Majesty will greet us at the palace," Sir Philippe said, "and hold a personal audience with you. He's an intelligent man and he's interested in discussing the future of your status in this our land." Acratania was definitely a change from Dawinia, especially in Mailliotbourg. The Cathedral of Saint Phillip's steeple could be seen over the skyline several times as the limos went on, and many of the buildings seemed older than the oldest people in city, and the people's outfits were a mix of traditional and trendy for the time period. Some distance outside of the city, the caravan finally got to the gates of the Mailliotbourg Royal Palace, guarded by patrols of the King's Guard. One of the oldest palaces in the country and one of the finest decorated, with two levels and two separate wings spreading north and west, it was not exactly like the castles of Auvernia or Dawinia, it was an impressive sight nonetheless. The limos were permitted in, going around the curve that went around the large fountain out front, making up of three sprouting layers. The first pulled up front, and the Guard opened up the doors, saluting as the noble came out. "Beautiful, isn't it?" Sir Philippe commented after the Prince had stepped out. "You know since 1715 it was housed by the Elected King of Acratania." He had been speaking still as he went up the steps, the doors opening as Sir Philippe brought him into the palace, filled with artifacts and artwork from the centuries upon centuries of Acratanien history. The other government officials were led up, though directed to another room - the ball room, as a matter of fact - where the KIng would address them after he had spoken with the Crown Prince. Suddenly they rounded a corner, and got to a doorway. There they were, at the entrance to the King's study. There, inside, they found the old, thin, white-haired King. He was found sitting in a plush chair, beneath a large statue of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, who seemed to be looking up at the sky and held a spear aloft, as if to protect whoever it was who sat beneath her, while at the same time looking up to heaven to see if there was any wisdom to impart upon those who came to her. The King, meanwhile, turned and smiled at the then. At once he put his good leg down onto the ground, leaned forward on his cane, and with some effort stood up onto his feet. This caused Sir Philippe to smirk - it was well known to him that Guillôme would remain sitting if he disliked someone, while he would stand if he had some respect for those who appeared. "Your Higness," King Guillôme said in Dawinian, "welcome to my country, the beautiful Kingdom of Acratania." Edited by Wendmark, Oct 17 2014, 03:13 PM.

Crown Prince Daníel tilts his head slightly in respect, as he's greeted. "Ah, the honour is all mine," responded Daníel, any day in this fair land is a good day, indeed. Of course, please, lead the way." After getting into the limo, they were whisked away in a speedy, yet calm, fashion, from the airport, into the city. Along the way to their destination, Daníel views the sites of the city; the fountains, monuments, period buildings; all seeming to resemble their counterparts in Dawinia but yet so different. As the cross over a bridge that spans the river, Daníel is snapped out of his trance, by Philippe. "This is great news to hear, Monsieur. I am eager to make His Majesty's acquaintance and pleased that he, to, does wish to see Dawinia and Acratania thrive in cooperation." With that, they devolve into other topics of conversation; nothing to burdensome and at the same time, nothing too bland and airheaded. It went on for most of the duration of the trip, dying down as they enter onto the Palatial grounds. As the fauna clears from the driveway up, he sees the façade of the Palace, which is stricken with beauty and detail. Once parked at the entrance to the building, he exits the car, following Philippe inside. "Most definitely. The masonry and immense detail is noteworthy," he replied, continuing into another conversation. As they walked the halls, Daníel viewed the various pieces of art that hung and sat in the hallowed halls of what was the Acratanian King's home. However, as he was to inquire more about certain pieces that really stood out, his guards and company were dismissed into a ballroom, as he and Philippe continue onward, for a short distance, to the personal study of their King. There sat the King, who made an effort to greet Daníel, even though he would have been okay with him staying. As according to protocol, Daníel bows, not as deep as he would to those who outrank him in Dawinia, but enough to gratify the station and person of a King. "Your Majesty," responding too in his own mother tongue, Dawinian, "I thank you for this most gracious opportunity to meet, on behalf of our nations, for the benefit of a brighter future for our nations." |

Mailliotbourg, Duchy of Artesmia, Kingdom of Acratania "Oh, Yes Your Higness, I'm so happy that You has accept my invitation!" said the King "Please, sit down" Sir Philippe said, waving to several plush, decorative chairs and even a lovely, antique couch near the King's own seat. The King waited until all had seated themselves, then sat down himself. Sir Philippe remained standing for his own part, taking a place near the Athena statue as if to remain, for the most part, behind the scenes. "The flight was good? Acratania and Dawinia are so near places!" smiled the King. Some women in traditional attire came in, moving trays forward with water and tea on them, gently handing out the teacups on saucers. The King thanked the womens. They bowed their heads low as they finished, walking out without turning away from any of the royals in the room. It wasn't until they were out of the room that they turned away and left. "But now tell me Your Highness, how are going the things in Dawinia?" asked the King. |

Daníel takes his seat on the couch, responding to the King after he'd started. "It must have been, since I slept through most of it," responded Daníel, chuckling, "Quite! Our nations share a large border, although separated by the vast mountain range. I do apologise for my minor tardiness, as in was held up in Caltrata." He stops as he sees tea being brought in. Taking his cup and saucer, he listens and responds to the King. "Things are going as good as they can be, especially from what we have been trying to repair from recent events." He pauses, to take a sip of tea, and stira over his last statement. It was still a sore issue to deal with, however, it was being dealt with, nonetheless. "However, things are quite calm, and people have returned to their common day-to-day life. But please, Your Majesty, pray tell, how are things in your nation?" |

Mailliotbourg, Duchy of Artesmia, Kingdom of Acratania "Oh, the country runs the same way has it runs always... A realm of peace! Our Economy growns since my fhater's Reign and we are investing in the technology. We had discovered Precious & Semi-Precious Stones, Precious Metals and Coal recently in some areas of the Mailliot Mountains and we had start to mining!" said the King. Then King Guillôme took a sip of his water. "In Politics Acratania are going well... I should say that I had some problems with the Republicans, but my Dukes helped me in my political dilems." smiled the King "But I invited Your Higness to my country to we close deals! Economic and Diplomatic Deals! We could enter in an accord? |

"How wonderful of a find," responded Daníel, "and glad to hear that your economy is growing, as it's a sign of the health of the nation. And speaking of, how is Her Majesty, The Queen?" He takes a small pause, placing his dish and cup on a little small table next to his seat. "Ah, I'm happy to say that people are generally happy with the Crown. We did have republican outcries that did get a little loud, but subsided after the introduction of the Asamblea Legislativa, our Parliament. Funny, the parties that actually received seats were all pro-monarchy, so I figured their [republicans] pride and drive was hurt. A pity, I'm sure." Daníel chuckles at his statement, continuing. "Anyway, yes, you are correct in your assumption. Just as you are eager to establish some economic and diplomatic deals, so is the Emperor, and in turn, myself. As much as we have our aspirations for this, so do you; what would Acratania like to pursue with Dawinia?" |

Mailliotbourg, Duchy of Artesmia, Kingdom of Acratania "Oh, the Queen is at Ésuspure with my son and Auvernian my daughter-in-law who is pregnant. She is an Great Mother and Wife, an said that will be near to her first grandson!" smiled the King. The King took a sip of his water, and then continued. "Let's start by economy Your Highness, tell me, what would Acratania like to pursue with Dawinia economically? asked the King. |

"Ah, I must try to visit before I leave for Dawinia again, and pregnant?! What wonderful news! Please send my regards; and condragulations to you; grandfather-ship is slowly coming upon you." Daníel smiles genuinely. "Now, on the subject of economics," he continued, trying to remember his notes, since they were in his bag, which is somewhere not by his side, "the Crown would be interested in Acratanian precious stones, not only for the Imperial Household, but for the common person. Dawinians, by nature, are opulent and cultured people, and precious stones are near the top of things most requested in the realm." He pauses as he picks up his cup to take a sip, setting it back down, continuing. "On the matter of coal, Dawinia does not have an interest in fossil fuels, as we majorly produce our power via the peaceful atom. In fact, nuclear energy powers 79% of energy in the realm, with further expansions to increase output to 90%. However, we do have other viable interests with Acratania, more specifically in transportation and related subjects. Transportation is an important industry in Dawinia, and arguably, the world. The movement of people from place-to-place has only made the world, in my opinion, a better place. With that said, we, as in Aerolíneas Estrenia, would like to have departure/landing rights to your cities of choice, to expand the route network and help to connect the world. And also, rail. We would like to begin to initiate frequent High-Speed Rail service between our nations, leading to, one day, a continental system of easy transport." He stops for a moment, thinking over his next comment. "But above all...we would like to see an open-border policy between our nations. As we would cancel tariffs to foster increased trade opportunities, we would also allow Acratanian's the right to enter Dawinia without a visa with indefinite stay. This is a big offer, I do understand that, and doesn't need to be decided upon at this moment. But please, do keep it in your mind for the future." |

Mailliotbourg, Duchy of Artesmia, Kingdom of Acratania "The age is coming upon me ... and Yes, I will send your regards and condragulations to my son." Guillôme cleared his throat and had a sip of water and continued; "Well, we could open an Great Market of Acratanien precious stones to Dawinia as well, we are interested in some of the Dawinian Luxurious Goods like the great Dawinian Wine, Chocolate and Coffee!" said the King. "In matters of transportation, Acratania has many Highways, but all of them are not out of the Country. Aerolíneas Estrenia could use cities like Ésuspure, Mailliotbourg, Avallon and Tempêrbourg. This High-Speed Rail would be an great idea, just like the Open-border policy... But we need to maintain eyes at this borders to has an peace at the crossing of the border." "As Antonío approves that, there's no why I should not approves!" said the King. Sir Joseph has elaborated an list of possible deals between Acratania and Dawinia. "What you think your Highness?" asked the King |

"Ah, that's great to hear your interest," responded Daníel enthusiastically, while mentalling beating himself up for not mentioning his nation's own goods that are held in very high regard, "I'd be able to negotiate a deal with the major producers to deal with Acratania. Our top wine in the realm is San Vicente, cultivated by the Imperial Household, but not quite made on a mass scale, as you can imagine the cost for the buyer and that it's for those who could afford it, however there are many other vineyards, which too, will be included in the deal, as well as our chocolate and coffee." Daníel can't help but smile while thinking of what his Auvernian cousins would say about good wine. But of course, they're not here to say otherwise. "Aerolíneas Estrenia and Ferrocarril Dâwínia would be most pleased to hear of your acceptance to this; access to the Acratanian market to your cities was most sought for quite some time, both by air and rail, and this initiative can and would enable use to reach the Auvernian rail system, as well as foster rapid acceptance of continental rail development and promulgation. Now, about the border we share, our idea was to have an absence of border control, with the only presence at border crossing would be border patrol, with the order to maintain safety in cases of emergency. However, if a more stringent policy is sought from you, and in effect, Acratania, then we'd be obliged to consider it." "But, other than that, I think all is well, with your offers." |

Mailliotbourg, Duchy of Artesmia, Kingdom of Acratania "Of course we can close an deal with Dawinia refering to our stones and to your goods!" said the King as he looked at the windown for an second time. "As we should expand our economic connections, we could do an Triple Rail, coming from Auxerre, passing through Mailliotbourg and Ésuspure, and at end reachs Austburgo and goes to Hamunaptra. This will be good for our economies and it would work ... And regarding to the Border, we could do an great work from the both sides following your sugestions!" said the King as he taked some maps to show to the Dawinian Prince the Rail suggestion. As the King looked at the window for the third time, he said: "But in Politics, what should Acratania and Dawinia discuss? |

Daníel makes sure to make a mental of what's going on so far. "Fantastic, Your Majesty. This is the beginning of something that will blossom into a most lucrative and harmonious partnership." Daníel looks at the provided rail map. "Now pertaining to rail, in Dawinian, we use a standard gauge rail (1.435 mm) throughout the land. We do hope that your rail lines too follow the standard gauge, for if not, there would be a break of gauge and require different equipment and/or upgrading rolling stock to accommodate dual-gauging. But the lines that you've mentioned between Auxerre to Hamunaptra, via Austburgo, Ésuspure, and Mailliotbourg, there is already High Speed Rail laid from Hamunaptra and Austburgo, and for the international service, we would use our newly developed rolling stock, capable of reaching up to 380 km/h. And with reduced border regulation, travel between our countries would be seamless, reducing cost and improving travel time and efficiency." He looks up from the maps, to the Acratanian King. "Politically speaking, now, we would like to seek an alliance sealed by word and blood. We realize that our nations do, in fact, share the same common language family, faith, and arguably dynastic line, and as our only contiguous neighbour, it is only natural that we would seek to further solidify our relationship. Which, like I've previously mentioned, would allow Acratanian's to freely enter and exit Dawinia and her territories, without let or hinderance, just as we continue to offer the same to our dynastic cousins in Auvernia and, in turn, their people. History has shown that only good has come from that decision that was made, time ago." |

Mailliotbourg, Duchy of Artesmia, Kingdom of Acratania He listened intently to the Crown Prince, and said “Your Highness, we keep in mind that Austburgo is the entry gate into Dawinia. The Crown has recently seen to restore and repair the damages of the roads between Ésuspure and Austburgo. And the rails will be the best factor to the trade! In a couple of years commerce will flow through our countries!” the King told them "And, regarding to Politics, we seek the same thing, to solidify our relationship! A happy resolution with Dawinia would see more coin in the Treasury and good relations with the Dawinian Crown. Both Nations would gain expanded access to markets. Friendly relations would increase the avenues of diplomacy between Acratania and Dawinia, and form and good alliance. For all of these reasons, King Guillôme was happy with this meeting. |
