The following has been sent to the relevant figures and offices from the Office of External Affairs of Izalith the UCSS. Recipients are: Dawinia, Kenso, Achaian Peloponnese, Auvernia, Valkany, Lyranona, Gurencia, Medai, Gilead, Legantus, Rusnya, Itius and Lyranona. A shorter letter has been sent to other nations wishing to join in that have not been named. The Fair Lady, the Governor General Logan, the Inquisitor Prime and the Inquisitor Scholar will all be attending to aid in the facilitation and answering of questions during the event. The Office of External affairs will be attending unless workflow demands otherwise. (I misspelled relevant, sue me.) ![]() (The date of the event is missing due to the rather fluid nature of Novera and it's stance on time flow. Consider it dated.) (Neter-Khertet is the large underground biome similar to the Chinese underground forests and such. It is considered one of the natural world wonders and was until recently locked away via the No Foreigner Zone policy. Hence allowing more people to attend rather than just people interested in trade individually.) Edited by Lyskal, Nov 1 2014, 05:18 AM.

Anax Kerameikos looked at the map hanging on his wall as he tapped his fingers on his desk. “I am intrigued,” he said after a moment’s thought. Then he added, “And I am slightly nervous. Interconnected trade is a wonderful thing, but there always remains the question of who benefits from it most. And our goods, after all, are not widely desired.” Kerameikos glanced down at his desk, where the letter addressed to Basileus Agora of the Office of Economics sat waiting for a reply. “But like everything else,” he said, “there are more reasons to make the attempt than to ignore the opportunity. This is a matter of political as well as economic diplomacy, and I have no interest in offending anyone without cause--regardless of how distant these people are from Achaian Peloponnese. If nothing else, it will be in our interests to determine who else is interested in this idea. There are likely to be several nations in the area who will find the idea more useful to them than we would, and with whom Achaian Peloponnese normally has no reason to interact. This will allow us to learn more about them, and to determine if we have common interests after all… It will, at the very least, help us establish a trade presence on the other side of the Reval, something we have not had since coming into conflict with Gileadan policy.” Kerameikos turned his full attention to Basileus Agora. “And I imagine that, quite apart from the political considerations I have mentioned, you have actual economic interests that you would like to pursue between Achaian Peloponnese and Izalith.” Agora nodded firmly. “We know from what Ambassador Lefkada reported during the League of Castratene meeting that Izalith has materials and technologies that would serve our needs. Our battery technology, for instance, needs to be improved a great deal before we can consider electricity alone as a viable power source at sea. Our own experiments in this area have been… less than productive.” Kerameikos nodded with a frown as he considered his predecessor’s early attempts to move away from oil-based engines toward a power source that didn’t require the Megaron to find an outside source willing to make deals with shadowy entities that weren’t willing to give their contact information. Battery technology had seriously held back the navy’s attempts to make its fleet completely independent of outside aid; experiments continued in the interest of improving battery design, but at the moment it appeared much more likely that outside sources and their products would be more likely to achieve the results the Megaron had hoped to see for more than a decade. “I believe that we should also use this opportunity to determine the feasibility of the League of Castratene’s trading policy,” the basileus continued. “Izalith is an outlying nation that nonetheless belongs to an organization whose most important agreement thus far has been in the realm of trade. We know just what advantages membership in the League will have for the region in Victorium, but we are not yet certain if those advantages will extend to Izalith in the same way. And it would be wise to be sure that Izalith’s economic ambitions as demonstrated by this trade summit will not interfere with the trading responsibilities we share as members of the League. We can only be certain of these things by attending this meeting.” Anax Kerameikos nodded to Agora. “I agree with your points entirely,” he said. “In our current situation, we must take advantage of every opportunity to gather friends both politically and economically. Izalith has given us just such an opportunity, and I intend for you to take it up on its offer.” He picked up the Izalithian invitation and handed it back to his basileus. “I want you to take a political ambassador as an aide,” he ordered. “Coordinate with Kifisia, or directly with Minister Peiraias if Kifisia’s other duties keep her too busy to organize things with you herself. Send your reply as soon as you can.” Agora nodded sharply. “Of course, sir,” she said.

Linovahle held the invitation in her right hand, left arm propping her head up as she looked at the piece of paper screwing her nose. “Milady?” Dyana quizzed, “Im unsure of this invitation Dyana.” The Queen sighed, “Does my people need trade?” “If not Lucina Mi’lady, then surely we can put trade through Fostmorde.” Dyana pointed out, “Since Fostmorde is the closest city to the Izalithian border now.” “Yes that is true.” The Queen straightened herself, “Dyana, fetch the Trade Twins, I’ll be sending them over.” Dyana bowed and turned to leave. “Oh and also get Jorayn too, need to send someone with military experience in case they have weapons we can use.” With a nod, Dyana turned to leave again through the main doors to Linvahle’s throne room. “Ahh Milady.” Loises, a short fat man greeting as he waddled through the doors, “Loises.” The Queen gritted her teeth, “I overheard that our people have been invited to the Izalithian Trade Summit.” Loises stated, “Its rude to eavesdrop Loises.” “Well im sorry that the walls have ears Milady.” Loises scoffed sarcastically, “Either way, I will have to agree with this trade offer. For it will help your people prosper.” “Thank you Loises. You now may leave.” The Queen demanded. Doors and down the hall, away from the queen The revolting man turned on his heels and waddled back out through the doors. Heading down the hallway back to his chambers. Dyana and the Twins finally entered through the doors, with Jorayn clanking behind in his golden armor. Liza with her long golden hair and her brother Bron with his short choppy hair, both bowed in respect to the Queen. “You may rise.” Linovahle stated from her throne, “I have a task for you two, since you are our Trade Ambassador’s, I need you to go to the Izalithian Trade Summit. Im sure your knowledge of their language is sufficient enough to understand what they want to trade.” “Oh yes Milady,” Liza started, “We would love to!” Bron finished, “Now Jorayn, I will need you to go along with them too, incase they are offering weapons to trade, if they are to your standards barter for them.” Linovahle commanded, “Yes Milady.” Jorayn replied curtly through his golden lion helm. The Queen rose from her throne, “Now Dyana, write a response letter to Miorall Azu immediately.” With a bow Dyana nodded and went off to her side room to write the response. The others leaving the throne room to ready themselves for a long journey to Neter-Khertet.

The talk of the Trade Summit spread quickly throughout Gurencia, Students, families, and businesses all had been very interested in visiting our South Gildean neighbor. The Government had released a statement that it has officially chosen 25 companies, varying from the Agricultural Sector, to the Information Sector, to represent Gurencia Officially in the Summit. The Government has also created a program that will allow students in the field of International Relations, Politics, Trade, ect, to attend the summit, representing the nation of Gurencia. Up to 30 students will be picked after applications are submitted, to join the CEO's of Companies, Foreign Diplomats, and Government Officials, in their journey to Izalith for the summit. Students who are chosen, will receive an all expense paid trip, including a private flight to the country, rooms in a local hotel, and for those studying Media, it will be a great chance to document the event, and get the ideas of diplomats from all around the world. A Gurencian News Station by the name of GBC, (Gurencian Broadcasting Company), will be joining the government on this trip. They will be reporting live from the summit, bringing the people of Gurencia back home, up-to-date news on the happenings of the trading negotiations. Investors in Gurencia have already starting buzzing over the economic opportunities that face them in the next coming weeks. If certain Gurencian companies receive large contracts from other nations or businesses, during the summit, investors will benefit immensely. A student gave his opinion on the Summit in an article from Gurencia Weekly News, "Yes, I'm going to apply to go with the government to the summit, I've never left the country before, but doing so for the first time, while studying Media, will surely give me the boost I need to excel in my field. A local Newspaper has already told me that if I receive a spot on that plane, they will hire me as a student reporter!". So much excitement around this event has been brewing, the Gurencian people are excited to hear what happens next, in the Izalithian adventure... |
