The 6 o'clock Izalithian News The Empire made a decree on the 5th of April to send military police and military units along with Imperial Suranese aid workers following recent worries concerning bandits, criminals, terrorists and foreign corporations with malignant interests. With promises that these new security forces will be held to the highest scrutiny much of the smaller Suranese nations have accepted the new conditions as they increase their national security. Political climate experts believe this may also be an initiative to act as a door stop measure to control nations military movements and to exert pressure to counter foreign influence. Princess Mio had this to say as she returned from the Soundwave music festival recently held overseas. "Lower and central Suran have historically been a target for slavery, extortion and abuse at the hand of foreign venture corporations. It is the duty of the Empire of Izalith to share it's wealth and protection to those less fortunate. The Emperor is the bulwark of the forsaken, my father has long been pained by the violent climate of central and lower Suran. I'm sure this endeavor will bare fruit quickly." While attacks on Imperial aid workers have historically been rather low, the presence will undoubtedly make up for a lack of police and military in a large amount of small communities. Not to mention reinforce the presence of law and order in regions vulnerable to the machinations of those without the Suranese and their well being as their primary interest. |
