well, a request...i think that's a first. who am I to disappoint?![]() Tyrant Dragon Attrib: Fire Type: Dragon/Effect Level:8 Atk: 2900 Def: 2500 When there is a monster on your opponent's side of the field after the first attack of your Battle Phase, this monster can attack once again during the same Battle Phase. In addition, negate the effect of a Trap Card that specifically designates this card as a target and destroy it. If this monster is Special Summoned from the Graveyard, you must offer 1 Dragon-Type monster on your side of the field as a Tribute. this card definitely packs a punch. the 2 trib cost is somewhat high, but in return, you get a monster which is potentially 2 really good monsters if your opponent's side of the field is stacked. it's trap resistant, which is a plus(sorry, tyrant won't be getting ringed) and you can special summon it back from the grave, with a slight cost. at least it isn't a nomi... i find tyrant works well in a dragon deck requiring lots of tributes...it can be special summoned by king dragun or fluted...so really, it's got some serious potential... in today's meta though, it doesn't fit in so well, as most deck play cards which effectively shut down most uses for tyrant dragon. messenger of peace, or level limit decks really don't suit tyrant dragon at all... so really, he belongs in a specialized deck...I also ran tyrant dragon with infernal flame emperor...but those days are past. he's not really a competitive card anymore... tyrant's good, but really, there's better strategies and better cards. if you're looking for raw power though, tyrants a good way to go. really good effects, and he can almost go tooth for tooth with a blue eyes...not too shabby! |

Master of the Armed Dragon, right here. Anyways, Shinobi, I think it'd be interesting to see a Tyrant Dragon deck. Perhaps you should make him that? |

tyrant dragon deck? sure....but the best way i can think to do tyrant is to fuse it with a REBD/king dragun deck deck... 20 2 tyrant dragon 2 red eyes black dragon 3 fusilier dragon the dual mode beast 3 luster dragon 3 spear dragon 3 red eyes B chick 3 masked dragon 1 cyber jar 13 3 metamorphosis 2 nobleman of crossout 2 smashing ground 1 premature burial 1 mystical space typhoon 1 pot of greed 1 graceful charity 1 stamping destruction 1 heavy storm 7 2 sakuretsu armor 1 call of the haunted 1 torrential tribute 1 mirror force 1 ring of destruction 1 dust tornado FUSION: 3 king dragun i think it's a little monster heavy, but not bad for a first draft... or... 19 3 tyrant dragon 3 solar flare dragon 3 flame ruler 3 UFO turtle 2 blazing inpachi 2 the thing in the crater 2 spirit of flames 1 cyber jar 13 2 molten destruction 2 smashing ground 2 enemy controller 1 pot of greed 1 graceful charity 1 mystical space typhoon 1 sword of revealing light 1 premature burial 1 snatch steal 1 creature swap 8 2 covering fire 1 dust tornado 1 call of the haunted 1 torrential tribute 1 mirror force 2 bottomless trap hole this deck is hurting in the trap and magic department IMO...but i'm happy with the monster lineup. anyways, there's a sort of breakdown on the tyrant deck options... |

back to COTD...this one's a two parter...![]() Knight's Title Group: Spell Card Type: Spell Activate this card by offering 1 face-up "Dark Magician" on your side of the field as a Tribute. Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician Knight" From your hand, Deck or Graveyard and... ![]() Dark Magician Knight Attrib: Dark Type: Warrior/Effect Level:7 Atk: 2500 Def: 2100 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Knight's Title". If this card is Special Summoned successfully, select 1 card on the field and destroy it. knight's title is a tough little card. it isn't a ritual, so it can't be searched for...and on top of that, you need a dark magician on the field. now, if you've seen any dark magician deck i've ever built, that really isn't a problem, but I digress...pretty much it's DD capsule or just draw it. with 3 in there it shouldn't be too hard. or MoF it back into your hand....so really, it's not too hard to use properly. not to mention the benefits... dark magician knight is all the power of dark magician, and it gives you some field removal...it's not all that tough to pull off. it gets searched out the deck anyways...so drawing it is a non-issue. not to mention as long as DM is ont he field, you call pull it out of the graveyard...and there's probably 10 ways I can think of to summon DM from the hand, grave or deck so really, it's a little added extra field removal. sure, it's not conventional...just smashing ground or dark magic attack something...but it's the true master of the dark magician who can successfully use this card...I use it. why don't you? |

it really isn't too hard though...like i said, a smashing or any other removal card is easier......it's just really for non-competitive play

next card...![]() Mask of Weakness Group: Trap Card Type: Trap Decrease the ATK of 1 attacking monster by 700 points until the end of the turn. meh. it's just not as good as shadow spell. and shadow spell is a horribly outdated card. it can give you atk advantage if timed right for one turn. that's about it. meh. |

i figure I'd break away from the normal and do something really interesting...deck LESSON! IT'S MILLER TIME! i was thinking about the best way to go about it. mill decks focus on removing all cards from your opponent's deck, since if you have no card to draw during your draw phase, you lose. therefore, cards which put cards into your opponent's hand would be useful, yes? it would also then be equally useful to make them disappear. card destruction will be your best friend here. if you can put about 15 cards into their hand, and hit up card destruction, odds are, they'll deckout in about 3 turns. it'll go even faster if you use serial spell and/or spell reproduction. ![]() ![]() I'll be truthfully honest, I'm not so good with mill decks. they're subtle. while I was researching mill decks, I came across this. this deck is totally netdecked. i don't like to take credit for what isn't mine. so anyways, IMO this mill deck is insane. it'll loop about 15-20 cards into their hand, then use card destruction and then follow it up with serial spell... shifty, no? monsters 8 1 Cyber Jar 3 Mystic Tomato 1 Sangan 3 Thunder Dragon magic (32) 3 Book of Taiyou 1 Card Destruction 3 Dragged Down into the Grave 3 Gather Your Mind 3 Giant Trunade 1 Graceful Charity 1 Heavy Storm 1 Pot of Greed 3 Reload 1 Serial Spell 3 Spell Reproduction 1 Swords of Revealing Light 3 The Shallow Grave 3 Toon Table of Contents 2 Upstart Goblin for those at home going "huh?", I'll explain. cyber jar puts 5 cards into their hand. of course, some get special summoned, but that's somewhat moot....anyways, so more cards go into their hand. cyber jar would be cleared with all the others. so, use the shallow grave to bring him back, and book of taiyou to do it all over again...betwen the spell reproductions and what you're actually drawing, and the immense amount of deck thinnage, you should have no problem continually repeating this process during your turn, so long as you're set up. if necessary, reload your hand. you'll probably have about 15 cards too! anyways, then hit them up with card destruction and serial spell. if they have 15 cards in their hand, let's see the mathematical results... assume they start with, even generously, 45 cards. 45 cards. -if they have 15 in their hand, their deck has 30. -if you use card destruction, their deck would have 15, since they would toss 15 cards, draw 15 more -if you combo it with serial spell, it'll take 15 more cards. and 45 cards is a heavy deck in today's game... so really, it won't be too hard to deck them out. just keep asking how many cards they have in their hand, and spring the trap when the time's right. i think it's interesting, and it's really good. just thought I'd post it and share mill deck mechanics. |
