This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

The four other party leaders in Parliament and King Jimmy issued responses to the announcement of a new constitutional amendment that would replace the Kumanian Royalty with a Kumanian Presidency.

Conservative Leader Gary Paul said, "This amendment has an extremely low chance of getting passed. It is in the interest of the Conservative Party to defend the Kumanian Royalty. But if King Jimmy, the current royal, supports this amendment, then we will stand with his decision. King Jimmy's position will determine our position regarding this amendment."

Libertarian Socialist Leader and Speaker of Parliament said, "The Libertarian Socialist Party will defend King Jimmy from any attempt to remove him from office. Jimmy has been an extremely benevolent leader, so it's silly to even consider removing him from office right now. Whatever our great benevolent progressive king supports, we shall support as well."

Communist Leader Kevin Bluecheese said, "This amendment does nothing to bring about the end of the reign of the tyrannical bourgeoisie. What we really need is a revolution to overthrow those despots. This silly amendment is a silly distraction from what must be accomplished."

Imperialist Leader Mark Swanson said, "I like this amendment. Jimmy needs to go. It is time the Kumanian people have the opportunity to choose their own leader...a leader that has the strength to truly stand up for our superior nation!"

And finally King Jimmy said, "This news is quite interesting. However, if the people don't want me to remain in office for the foreseeable, well then I encourage them to signify it. Perhaps a referendum should be called to get a legitimate understanding on how the Kumanian people truly feel about this unprecedented amendment. It could be a good idea to have the 55 million Kumanian citizens make the decision on this issue, instead of only 275 politicians here in Kumania City. Whatever the Kumanian people want, they shall get."

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

King Alexander I of Latrovia announced a great change in Latrovian foreign policy earlier today. In an interview with Jonathan Vrettou, Alexander announced that he would be signing a bill to "bring [their] soldiers home". Basically the Latrovians seek pursuing a fairly isolationist foreign policy like Kedalistan, Merlinton, and Kumania. It has not been announced whether the Latrovian base in Newfoundland would be closed. Kumania has a base in Latrovia in exchange for the Latrovian base in Newfoundland.

Liberal Leader Gerald Black responded to statements that denounced the amendment as removing King Jimmy from office by saying, "This amendment doesn't prevent King Jimmy from continuing to be our leader. No where in the text does it state that King Jimmy, or anyone else in the Kuma family, would be prevented from running for President. This amendment only gives the Kumanian people the opportunity to have a real say in who their leader is every couple years. Never again will the Kumanian people have to rely on those of us in the Royal Parliament to sometimes decide who the leader of our nation is. This is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. It's time the Kumanian people have the opportunity to elect their leader."

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Speaker of Parliament Paulina Sands unexpectedly called for a vote among all 275 MPs today regarding establishing a national referendum to basically determine whether a constitutional amendment that would replace the royalty with a presidency is a good idea. All 275 MPs voted in favor of holding a national referendum on 11 June 2016. Tomorrow, Parliament leaders are expected to discuss with the provincial governors regarding the referendum.

Upon announcement of the vote, a political organization that's for the Kumanian Presidency Amendment was also announced to be established. The group, President for Kumania, was officially established a couple hours after the vote. A political organization that's against the amendment has not yet been established yet.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

The Conservative Party and the Libertarian Socialist Party have announced that their combined 201 MPs will vote accordingly to the results of the popular vote in their respective provinces in the upcoming referendum that would help the Royal Parliament and King Jimmy know if the Kumanian people want to replace the Royal Family with an elected president.. However, the Imperialist Party, Liberal Party, and Communist Party have all announced that their combined 74 MPs will vote however they wish to. The Imperialists and Liberals have already publicly endorsed the amendment while the Communists have denounced it and begun campaigning against it. The current predicted vote among these MPs who will vote however they want to is 52 For and 22 Against.

With this news, the following will be the breakdown province by province on how the MPs will vote.

Newfoundland will be Majority Unpledged with 5 committed MPs and 6 uncommitted MPs.

Miquelon will be Majority Unpledged with 2 committed MPs and 4 uncommitted MPs.

Labradour will be Winner-Take-Most with 4 committed MPs and 3 uncommitted MPs.

Princess Gloria Island will be Winner-Take-All with 4 committed MPs.

Nova Scotia will be Winner-Take-Most with 18 committed MPs and 4 uncommitted MPs.

Anticosti will be Winner-Take-All with 3 committed MPs.

New Brunswick will be Winner-Take-Most with 12 committed MPs and 2 uncommitted MPs.

Saguenay will be Winner-Take-Most with 6 committed MPs and 3 uncommitted MPs.

Quebec will be Winner-Take-Most with 34 committed MPs and 10 uncommitted MPs.

Ontario will be Winner-Take-Most with 42 committed MPs and 9 uncommitted MPs.

Erie will be Winner-Take-Most with 26 committed MPs and 10 uncommitted MPs.

Huron will be Winner-Take-All with 12 committed MPs.

Hudson will be Winner-Take-Most with 7 committed MPs and 4 uncommitted MPs.

Superior will be Winner-Take-Most with 17 committed MPs and 14 uncommitted MPs.

Kenora will be Winner-Take-Most with 9 committed MPs and 5 uncommitted MPs.

To recap, Newfoundland and Miquelon will be Majority Uncommitted provinces; Labradour, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Saguenay, Quebec, Ontario, Erie, Hudson, Superior, and Kenora will be Winner-Take-Most; and Princess Gloria Island, Anticosti, and Huron will be Winner-Take-All.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

President for Kumania, the campaign group in favor of replacing the royalty with a presidency, opened up campaign offices in Kumania City, Saguenay, Montreal, Toronto, St. Tom, Thunder Bay, and Kenora today. This comes as several analysts have listed Saguenay and Ontario as the two most important provinces for their supporters to win. So far no pro-royalty campaign groups have been announced.

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Two Roman rovers successfully landed on the Moon today. This a part of a mission to collect and analyze samples of dust. The two rovers, named "Zeus" and "Hera", were launched yesterday.

The first national poll conducted regarding the Kumanian Presidency Amendment shows that nearly 70% are undecided. Of those who had made a decision, it was split 15% to 15% for and against passing the amendment. The sample size was 2,000 people picked randomly nationwide. It's predicted that the most support for the amendment will come from voters in the west while the least support will come from voters in the east.

The Great Lakes provinces are expected to receive a ton of campaign attention the next couple weeks as supporters from both sides try to appeal to voters in these highly populated provinces. Nearly half of all Kumanians live in Erie, Ontario, or Quebec, so winning these provinces would probably guarantee a victory for either side in the referendum.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Lord President Karsen of Uchub's birthday is approaching. In celebration, his government has invited world leaders to attend an extravagant party in Mezoberranzan. King Jimmy announced that he will attend the party. This trip to Uchub will be the first time King Jimmy travels outside of Kumania since he visited PLR back in February.

Fuhrmanian Chancellor Jakoh Kline announced that he was heading to PLR. In a speech, Kline indicated that the purpose of this trip was "to rebuild diplomatic relationships".

Speaker of Parliament Paulina Sands closed the first session of the 21st Royal Parliament today. Withholding a special session, Parliament will not reconvene until after the 11 June Kumanian Presidency Amendment Referendum on 15 June.

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

King Jimmy departed for Mezobarranzan today. This being his first trip outside of Kumania since before the general election. Before he left, he gave a quick speech:

"I have been given the great opportunity to travel to Uchub, represent our great nation, and meet the Uchubian people. For a long time, Uchub has literally closed itself off from the rest of the world. But now, it has opened its doors. So it is time for us to take this opportunity and possibly build a relationship with the Uchubians. It is important to have peace, prosperity, security, and stability with your neighbors. This leads to peace, prosperity, security, and stability within your own nation. So now I depart for Menzobarranzan to accomplish these goals."

Tomorrow night, we will be joined by Communist Leader Kevin Bluecheese. We will discuss the upcoming Kumanian Presidency Referendum, and why the Communist Party is the only party that has publicly condemned the referendum.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos.

We are joined tonight by Leader of the Communist Party of Kumania, Kevin Bluecheese of Miquelon!

SB: Welcome Mr. Bluecheese!

KB: Good evening Sally.

SB: Last time we had you on here, it did not end too well.

KB: Yeah, I apologize for that. I look forward to a good interview tonight.

SB: And a good interview we shall have! So, in the past month or so, your party has been a major headline maker a couple times. Let's start first with your feud with Calofasian Deputy Leader Helena Giroux.

KB: Helena was interesting to say the least. She was fairly rude, but she also opened my eyes. This system cannot be easily fought and defeated by joining it. Revolution must come from the grassroots.

SB: So will we be expecting a revolution anytime soon?

KB: Meh. I'm just one person. I can't speak for the millions of workers. If the workers want a revolution, they will have their revolution. Unfortunately, it only seems like a revolution would happen if Kumania had already collapsed into anarchy. But then again, who knows? The Libertarian Socialist Party seems weak in my opinion. This upcoming referendum could be the ultimate test of if the LSP will survive.

SB: About that referendum. Your party has openly criticized the Kumanian Presidency Amendment, saying it's not the right solution to the problem. Wouldn't having an elected leader instead of an unelected leader be a small step in the right direction to the communist dream of the workers running society?

KB: If the elected president still does pretty much the same things as our current king, then absolutely no progress has been made. I've heard rumors that Jimmy could possibly run for president if this referendum gets the amendment passed. He's seemingly pretty popular. The only difference would be that every couple years or so he'd have to go through an election.

SB: There has been some criticism from the other parties that are not the LSP that your party is potentially helping the LSP again by publicly being against this amendment which could potentially remove this great ally of the LSP from power. How do you answer this criticism?

KB: I think it's a load of bullshit to be honest with you. First of all, they're giving the LSP too much credit. Does anyone truly realistically think the LSP is a single united party anymore? That party has been growing weaker ever since that vote a year ago that plunged Kumania into a great recession. The formation of the Liberal Party and the vote to cut Fuhrmanian aid has further created more wounds in the party. I kinda feel bad for Speaker Sands as this collapse of the LSP is happening during her reign. Obviously she isn't the one to cause this, but history will remember her as the last Leader of the Libertarian Socialist Party.

SB: So if the Libertarian Socialist Party collapses, will the Communist Party try to benefit from it?

KB: It's possible. The problem is the party's supporters are fairly diverse in their ideology. You have both moderates and communists within that party, even after this recent election. The Liberals will try to sway as many supporters as possible too. And it's possible that a new party or two could rise from such a collapse. There's just no good prediction of what will happen.

SB: Thank you for joining us Mr. Bluecheese!

And that concludes our broadcast!

I'm Sally Bungolos. From all of us here at KNN International, have a good day!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Efe Baako, the leader of Komuvlaktes, passed away today. He had been battling MRSA for the past three months. Baako has been credited with leading Komuvlaktes in a progressive direction. King Jimmy offered his condolences from Menzoberranzan.

The Kumanian Presidency Amendment Referendum is only four weeks away. We are joined now by our senior elections expert, Dr. Frank Burlington.

SB: Dr. Burlington, welcome back to the show!

FB: It's good to be back.

SB: So, I've been informed that you have mapped out a path of victory for the Liberals, Imperialists, and others who support this amendment.

FB: It's more like hard investigative reporting. A source within President for Kumania has informed me of their strategy.

SB: Well with us being the media, let's hear it!

FB: Alright so basically, Saguenay and Ontario will be the swing vote. Whichever side wins those two provinces will win overall. Why you ask? Well first of all, PFK is not gunna campaign in most of the Atlantic provinces. It'll just be a waste. There is too much of an establishment vibe in the east, with the exception of Miquelon. Newfoundland is pretty establishment, but it voted Liberal, so it's no ally of the Royalists. Once one travels west into the Francophone provinces, this pro-establishment vibe starts to fade away. I mean, our government and media is mostly English-speaking. French-speakers most likely don't like that status quo. Turning Kumania into a bilingual country by recognizing French as an official language was a major victory for those anti-establishment French-speakers. But they want more. They are only Libertarian Socialist because they have progressive ideals. But a lot of them would like to see places like New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland become majority French-speaking. After all, it was the French who were here first before the English.

SB: Interesting.

FB: Now, Ontario has been seen as a Libertarian Socialist stronghold. And Saguenay is a Conservative stronghold. The Conservatives and Libertarian Socialists are of course seen as the establishment parties in Kumanian politics. There isn't really anything wrong with the establishment, it's just there's a lot of people not living in provinces surrounding Nova Scotia that are kinda blah about it. They typically feel ignored, especially in the western provinces. Perhaps the western-most victory for those against the amendment will be Erie, simply because there's a strong presence of Communists and establishment Libertarian Socialists there. The numbers for Erie just don't equal a win for the Presidency Coalition. Ontario on the other hand could provide a surprise victory. Again, support from Libertarian Socialists for this amendment should be expected to be low since King Jimmy is an ally to their party and they don't want to see his reign challenged. But there are a lot of progressives within the party. The LSP indeed has divisions. And these divisions will be shown on election night.

SB: So basically what are the provinces the Presidency Coalition are looking to win to guarantee a victory, which would mean winning enough provinces with enough seats to guarantee a 2/3 majority of support in Parliament?

FB: They need to win Newfoundland, Saguenay, Quebec, Ontario, Hudson, Huron, Superior, and Kenora. That's it. The total number of votes in favor should be 184 when you combine the committed MPs who will vote according to provincial results and the Liberals and Imperialists who have pledged to vote in favor of the amendment no matter what. And 184 is the magic number to win. If the Presidency Coalition doesn't win Ontario but still wins Saguenay, yeah they will have secured a majority of votes, but it will be far below that 2/3 threshold. And it's obviously the same if they win Ontario but not Saguenay. And if they win neither, then they actually barely come up short. They'd probably end up winning 136 MPs out of 275, which is just shy of a simple majority. There's no question that the coalition will win the four western provinces, Newfoundland, and Quebec. But they need to win Saguenay and Ontario to get that 2/3 majority. They know this. That's why they opened up a campaign office in Saguenay of all places. And that's why they will campaigning their asses off in those two provinces over the next few weeks. Ontario and Saguenay will determine the future of Kumania.

SB: It's always a pleasure to have you on our show. Thank you for coming on.

And that concludes our broadcast!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

The Emiratian Space Agency launched its first space shuttle today. The shuttle was declared to be destined for Mars. The head of FEFSA clarified that most of the materials for the shuttle were imported from Riadistan. Nevertheless, the Emiratians have been applauded for this successful launch.

The Kumanian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced today that they plan to reveal the name of the Kumanian Lunar Colony by the end of this week. King Jimmy is expected to present the name of the Kumanian Lunar Colony in a grand ceremony on the Grand Parade when the name is to be officially announced. There has been a national competition for the past month to determine the official name of the Kumanian Lunar Colony. The colony is scheduled to be ready for operation within the next three to four weeks.

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

King Jimmy returned from Uchub earlier this morning. He did not comment on his trip. However, unrelated to that topic, he did announce that the name of the Kumanian Lunar Colony will be revealed this Friday.

Tomorrow night we will be joined by Speaker of Parliament and Leader of the Libertarian Socialist Party Paulina Sands. This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos.

Tonight we are joined by a special guest, Speaker of Parliament and Leader of the Libertarian Socialist Party Paulina Sands.

SB: Madame Speaker welcome back.

PS: It's always a pleasure.

SB: So, where to begin? I guess we will start with the alleged divide growing within your party and then go from there. So, your thoughts?

PS: Y'know, these past few weeks have been fairly rough. Every where I go I am hounded by reporters asking me if the Libertarian Socialist Party is about to collapse. This media frenzy, well it's driving me crazy! There is no denying, however, that there are different factions within the party. There are a ton of progressives. A ton. Voters and politicians who have progressive politics make up an overwhelming majority of LSP supporters. However, no one can ignore the fact that there are quite a few LSP supporters that only support us because they like King Jimmy. Of course, King Jimmy is not a member of any political party. He is supposed to remain unbiased. But alas he has progressive ideals and the LSP is the party that is home to people with those progressive ideals so people tend to think of us as King Jimmy's party. And that is really harmful. When there's this projected alliance between your party and the most influential person in the nation, a simple vote that is different drives the media crazy.

SB: So do you sometimes resent this apparent alliance your party seemingly has with King Jimmy?

PS: To be completely honest with you, sometimes it'd be nicer if perhaps he and my party didn't line up so much on political ideology. At least maybe it wouldn't cause so much hype over political chaos if time to time we disagreed on policy.

SB: So what is your opinion of the Kumanian Presidency Amendment?

PS: I was expecting this question. I feel like I kinda led the conversation to reach this. Well, I'm neutral on it. And I'm gunna force myself to remain neutral until the people of Ontario and the rest of Kumania have voiced their opinions on this unprecedented amendment. I wouldn't wanna say I have that much influence, but typically it seems like when the Speaker of Parliament publicly supports a bill, that bill will get passed. There are both pros and cons to the amendment. A major con would be my party potentially loses a key ally that wouldn't lose power until they die or resign. A major pro, however, would be that Kumania can truly call itself the defender of democracy if its leader is elected by the people. I, and many others in my party, sometimes feel a little bit hypocritical when we claim to be the party of progressive ideals while our apparent greatest political ally is a king, who is of course not elected.

SB: So let's say that the amendment passes and your party avoids a possible implosion. There have been a lot of pundits that have declared a victory for this amendment to possibly be the final nail in the coffin for your party. Who would your party possibly nominate as a candidate, if it will nominate anyone at all?

PS: No one has thought of that scenario. I think we should probably let certain things happen before we get to a point where we have to make a huge decision. I saw the broadcast on here the other day with that path to victory for the amendment supporters. Unless the voters Saguenay and my home province of Ontario support that amendment, that amendment will not pass.

SB: So do you really think all 201 Libertarian Socialist and Conservative MPs will stay true to their word and vote accordingly to the results of their home province?

PS: Well that's the plan. Obviously this is a representative democracy so these representatives can vote however they want. The Imperialists, Communists, and Liberals have already shown that they'll potentially ignore the opinions of their constituents because they are allowed to vote according to however they feel like. Probably the only vote that is actually set in stone is the 22 no votes coming from the Communists. I gotta hand it to the Communists, they really know how to have perfect unity within their party. And they technically aren't ignoring the will of the people because they are Communists and their supporters vote Communist and those supporters are also overwhelmingly against this amendment since they'd rather have a revolution I guess. Perhaps having an elected leader instead of an unelected leader for a change isn't revolutionary enough to them.

SB: Hahahahaha. So tell us more about how you feel regarding the other parties.

PS: Meh. That right there is all I have to say about them.

SB: Thank you for joining us Madame Speaker!

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Loyal to the Royals, a campaign group that's against the Kumanian Presidency Amendment, was announced to have been established today. It was also announced that they were opening up campaign offices in Kumania City, Saguenay, and Toronto. With the establishment of this campaign group, now supporters from both sides concerning the Kumanian Presidency Amendment have organized into political campaign groups. Unlike President for Kumania, which was founded by the Liberal Party, Loyal to the Royals was founded by independents. However, the founders of Loyal to the Royals are from eastern Kumania where support for the royalty is much stronger.

At an exhibition of technology in Latrovia today, the LFC-150, a floating car, was introduced. These unprecedented vehicles are expected to be released into the Latrovian market later this week. In addition to floating, the LFC-150 also comes with advanced safety measures and never-before-seen luxuries like auto-pilot. The market for the LFC-150 is expected to go global by the end of the year. It is expected that every car in Latrovia will be replaced with the LFC-150. MicroWorld, the company that developed the LFC-150, announced that they will recycle every Latrovian car that's replaced with an LFC-150.

Already there has been massive hype on Kumanian social media in response to the revelation of the LFC-150. Numerous social media users have called on the Kumanian government to divert more funds to the Kumanian auto industry to develop advanced consumer vehicles like the LFC-150. Even Leader of the Imperialist Party Mark Swanson sounded off on the LFC-150 saying, "I am amazed at the LFC-150. However, it is a shame that this magnificent technology was not developed by Kumanians. We can have starships that are faster than light but we can't have floating cars? We must not let Kumania be beaten in technology ever again! It is time to do more technological research so once again Kumania can lead the world in technology and science!

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Speaker of Parliament Paulina Sands declined to call for a special session of Parliament today in response to Imperialist Leader Mark Swanson's apparent call for more funding for technological advancement. She remarked, "Now is not an urgent time when we must divert taxpayer money to developing certain advanced technologies like flying cars. Parliament has a schedule. We will convene again after the referendum. Unless a crisis arises that necessitates the Royal Parliament reconvening before the referendum, there is no need for Parliament to be in session. I admire Mr. Swanson's energetic support for more technological advancement, but such a topic is just not that urgent. It can wait."

Tomorrow King Jimmy will reveal the name of the Kumanian Lunar Colony. And Saturday we will be joined by Leader of the Liberal Party Gerald Black where he will explain to us why Kumania needs a president and other things.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

The official name of the Kumanian Lunar Colony was revealed today by King Jimmy. He gave the following speech earlier today at the Grand Parade in Kumania City, "Good morning. For the past few weeks, there has been a national contest to determine the name of our colony on the Moon that will be ready for operation within the next couple weeks. I am pleased to announce that the first extraterrestrial Kumanian settlement shall be known as Pedroia. The name was suggested by ordinary citizens and chosen by those who will be moving to the colony within the next couple weeks. This is a historic step for Kumania, and I guarantee that there will be more to come! Thank you."

Multiple protests have broken out across Riadistan in response to political party turmoil that has begun unfolding recently. The protests in Riadistan have remained fairly peaceful so far, but some are worried that they can explode into violence at any time. This has caused a stir among Kumanian political pundits who fear that the same potential instability can break out in Kumania if the Libertarian Socialist Party collapses.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos.

Before we begin our interview with Leader of the Liberal Party Gerald Black, we have breaking news out of Riadistan. In response to a massive communist demonstration occurring in the Riadistani capital, the Riadistani President has declared a state of emergency and fled into neighboring Newlend.

SB: How convenient is it that you are here with us while this is occurring, Mr. Black?

GB: I guess fairly convenient. Way to steal the limelight from me haha.

SB: Haha yeah. So, anyways, we will get back to discussing the protests in Riadistan.

GB: Wait I'm gunna do analysis with you about those protests?

SB: Yeah. I might as well. So, in three weeks the Kumanian people will go to the polls to decide the fate of your amendment. How do you feel as the big day is coming up soon?

GB: Well, I'm excited. So far Saguenay and Ontario have seemed to be pretty kind to us. But we are campaigning in all 15 provinces. I have a good feeling about 11 June.

SB: So, so far, certain details about the amendment haven't been brought up. I plan to change that tonight right now.

GB: Do you?

SB: Yes. So first of all, how would a President of Kumania be elected? Would the title even be like that?

GB: The title would probably be President of the Kumanian Republic or just President of Kumania. Kumania wouldn't be known as a royal republic if we no longer have a royal family being of any relevance. Kumania would probably be known simply as the Republic of Kumania. As for electing the president, it'll be like how we elect our provincial governors. While Parliament and provincial legislatures and municipal councils and what not have members elected over two election days via proportional representation, the governor is elected on one election day by winning the most support. Note how I say support instead of votes. We do not use first-past-the-post. We use the single-transferable-vote method. That will apply for electing the president. Whoever receives the most support nationally will be elected. We have a multi-party system so it's highly unlikely that a first-past-the-post system could work if our leader is elected without the support of the majority of Kumanians. Let's say there are three candidates. Candidate A gets 45%, Candidate B gets 40%, and Candidate C gets 15%. In first-past-the-post, Candidate A wins. However, in STV, people list their preference in order. So let's say all of Candidate C's supporters prefer Candidate B over Candidate A. Their votes and therefore transferred to Candidate B and Candidate B wins 55% to 45% because Candidate B had the most support.

SB: Ah yes that makes sense. Thanks for the review. Sometimes we in the national media tend to forget local election processes because we hardly cover them.

GB: On election night, you won't be waiting for provinces to close polls to determine how things will be proportioned. Sorry, we're making election night less exciting, at least for the presidential election.

SB: It's ok. When do you personally hope for a presidential election to be held if your amendment passes?

GB: Well, since the president would be the most important position, there would need to be a few months for candidates to present themselves to the people. So probably we should hold the election in the fall. I'd expect the amendment to be voted on shortly after the referendum in the middle of June. And then the provinces would vote for the rest of June. So July would probably begin the campaign season. So July, August, September, and maybe October for campaigning since it'll be the first president. Obviously I'm not the one who decides when the election should happen though.

SB: So now back to the Riadistani protests. Are you worried that people who are against your amendment would potentially disturb the peace? Do you think the Kumanian communists would see the situation in Riadistan and get any ideas from them?

GB: I hope not. I don't see any reason why anyone that supports freedom should be against this amendment. I hope Kevin Bluecheese and his supporters are mature enough to not create any chaos.

SB: Thank you for joining us Mr. Black!

And we have breaking news out of Riadistan again. The protests have apparently died down at least for tonight and the state of emergency has been lifted.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

In the wake of a massive demonstration in the Riadistani capital city of Riadi, and the arrest of the organizer of the protest, Communist Party Chairman Yusur al-Thuri, Kevin Bluecheese gave a press conference. During the press conference, he both applauded and critiqued the Riadistani Communist Party, praising them for organizing an event that brought their political fight to worldwide headlines, but criticizing them for having the demonstration remain so peaceful. Bluecheese remarked, "Communism is not a peaceful event. Communism is not practiced by hippies. In order for communism to work, there must be violence. It's great that Riadistan's communists have gotten global attention, but that's literally the only thing they accomplished. It is quite foolish. Next time they organize something, it better be the true communist revolution unfolding within Riadistan. I don't wanna hear about Riadistan and their communists again until the blood of the filthy bourgeoisie is flowing through the streets of Riadi and every other city and town in Riadistan."

Arab Prime Minister Moammar Al-Abdullah caused a massive uproar today when he remarked his support for the Madani faith, of which has seen a random spike in popularity recently. In addition to his support, he also renounced his status as Prime Minister and declared himself to be the true Emperor of PLR. Caliph Azman and the NUAPP (National United Arab Peoples Party) strongly condemned these actions.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Riadistani Communist Chairman Yusuf al-Thuri has apparently escaped from custody. He allegedly dug his way out of his prison cell. Surpsingly, Riadistani President Yuhanna Riadi has returned to his homeland after having fled across the border to Newlend the past couple days. Even with al-Thuri on the loose, President Riadi has said that there is no credible security threat.

We caught up with the Leader of the Communist Party Kevin Bluecheese after it was reported that the last words Yusuf al-Thuri said were "Challenge accepted" in response to Bluecheese's strong words in reaction to the massive communist demonstration in Riadi on Saturday and asked for his response:

"It makes me glad that Mr. al-Thuri has seemingly accepted my challenge. This is giving me motivation to potentially do something here in Kumania. As a matter of fact, I would like to reach out to the Calofasian communists. This is a critical time for Kumania, and it is probably the best chance for a while for communism to exist within Kumania. I hope this isn't interpreted the wrong way. But it is time for massive change in Kumania."

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Terrorist attacks rocked the Calofasian city of Moroni today. This coming after local authorities on the predominantly Islamic Comoros Islands had received threats. At 8:32 am local time, a massive truck bomb and a car bomb simultaneously exploded outside the Republic Assembly and the League of Communists headquarters. At 8:45 am, another three bombs exploded at the CalMerNav Harbour, Calofas National Bank, and a local tax collector's office. The Islamic Liberation Front of Comoros quickly claimed responsibility for the attacks. Oleiwin, Latrovia, SSR, and Kumania have all expressed their interest to aid the Calofasians in the wake of these horrifying attacks. King Jimmy personally condemned the attacks and declared that Kumania will help the Calofasians in any way possible.

A communist revolution has broken out in PLR in the wake of the resignation of Prime Minister Moammar Al-Abdullah, the rise in popularity of the Madani faith, and the growing paranoia of a communist revolution within Riadistan. Supporters of the Madani faith have aligned themselves with communists and the city of Alexandria has become engulfed into a warzone as communists and NUAPP supporters have begun battling for control of the city.

Leader of the Kumanian Communist Party Kevin Bluecheese praised the outbreak of this communist revolution by saying, "It is obvious that the time has come for the workers of the world to rise up and destroy the filthy system that benefits the bourgeoisie! Soon, this revolution shall reach the shores of my homeland. And no longer will Kumania be my homeland. There will be no more nationstates. The workers of the world will unite into one! Together we shall be victorious!" No other Kumanian officials have commented on the outbreak of war within PLR.

In Riadistan, the search for Yusuf al-Thuri hasn't had any results. In response to the outbreak of a communist revolution in PLR and the threat of a revolution breaking out in his homeland of Riadistan, Riadistani President Yuhanna Riadi stated, "It seems communism is on the rise in many countries other than ours. I worry that this international shift towards communism could be a bad thing for the great democracies, such as Riadistan, that currently exist. Communism without control of the whole world only breeds suffering and authoritarianism, both of which are terrible things. I would hate to see these things happen in my country."

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Julian Basque, Minister of Internal Affairs Michelle Michaels, and Secretary of Education Brandon Ortiz returned home from PLR and Newlend today in wake of a rapidly growing security risk in the region. Minister Basque had been in PLR to represent Kumania at a meeting concerning the revival of CROSS while Minister Michaels and Secretary Ortiz had been in Newlend to represent Kumania at a meeting concerning the establishment of the International Institute of Space, Earth, Celestial Bodies, & Spacetime Physics (IISECBSP).

An Emiratian shuttle landed on Mars today with its crew planting the Emiratian flag and beginning construction on a biodome. The Kumanian Ministry of Defense announced today that the settlers for the Kumanian Lunary Colony of Pedroia will depart on 1 June next Wednesday. No further details have been released concerning the establishment of Kumanian colonies on Venus and Mars.

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

A bill was proposed in the provincial legislature of Huron today to change the timezone of the province from Central Standard Time to Eastern Standard time. Supporters of this bill claim that it is "somewhat ridiculous how a city like Sudbury would be an hour behind a city to the southwest like Windsor" and how there is "no logic in continuing to operate with Central Standard Time". A similar bill was proposed in the provincial legislature of Miquelon to have it change from Atlantic Standard Time to Newfoundland Standard Time. It is currently unknown whether timezone reform will be discussed when Parliament reconvenes after the Kumanian Presidency Amendment Referendum.

Leader of the Imperialist Party Mark Swanson commented on recent remarks by Kevin Bluecheese today. He said, "The only reason why the Communists got more votes than my party is because they spooked their supporters into believing that my party was some terrible entity and that their party was the only one who would put a stop to this so-called horribleness that they think me, my party, and our supporters possess. It is an embarrassment for Kumania that the Communists get so much attention when they're so pathetic. There will be no communist revolution in Kumania. I can guarantee that. You're a fool if you think Bluecheese can completely overthrow our government and system and install his so-called communist utopia. It ain't gunna happen. He should've stuck with trying to reform the system from the inside instead of preaching about completely destroying it like he's doing now. He's only making a fool of himself and to be honest I feel bad for him."

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

Minister of Internal Affairs Michelle Michaels clarified today that the Kumanians who will colonize the Moon will cast their votes in the referendum concerning the Kumanian Presidency Amendment before they depart for Pedroia as there are currently no poll stations that have been constructed for the colony and no booths are planned to be constructed for another couple months. All Kumanian citizens are of course able to cast their vote early, but a great majority prefer to go to the polls to cast their votes. However, these colonists will be required to cast their votes early or else they won't be able to vote.

The Arcadians have announced that they will send military aid to the Arab Caliphate whether PLR accepts it or not. The Arcadian government called the Madani faith a "threat to [their] economic interests in the region". Meanwhile, rumors have begun circulating that the neutral Equestrians have begun aiding the Madani communists.

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

The city of Alexandria has fallen to Madani communist forces. In response, the government of PLR has accepted foreign military aid from several nations. Arcadian Chairman Sonny Montana has traveled to the warzone to fight along his troops that are fighting the communist rebels within PLR.

With me now is Kumanian Minister of Defense Haley DeFronz.

SB: Minister, welcome back.

HD: Good evening Sally.

SB: So, I'm gunna have you be the first high ranking Kumanian official to comment on the ongoing communist revolution in PLR.

HD: Sounds fun.

SB: So, what is your take on this situation?

HD: Honestly, after all the regime changes that have happened within PLR the past couple years, I'm not surprised that now there's a communist rebellion. That nation is super unstable. It will take probably a whole century of peace and stability and unity for PLR to be able to tell the world that they are a high and mighty nation that others should bow down to. I believe it to be a fact that no nation is truly prosperous if its government goes through a forceful regime change every four months. Y'know what that is? That is anarchy. There is no government in PLR. The Caliphate would want you to think there is but look at what's going on. The Caliphate has only been in power for a few months and already there's a seemingly serious threat to that regime. By my definition, anarchy exists if a regime cannot stay in power for at least six months. So now if either side achieves victory like tomorrow, it will have to stay in power for six months before I'll believe that there is no anarchy in the PLR.

SB: So do you have any fears that a communist insurgency would break out in Kumania? It has been confirmed that Yusuf al-Thuri has fled Riadistan. Some conspiracy theorists have speculated that he could be behind the outbreak of a communist revolution in PLR. So is Kumania at risk of a communist revolution with Kevin Bluecheese now preaching about revolution and PLR falling down into further chaos?

HD: A communist revolution will only happen in Kumania if a majority of Kumanians are communists. And the last election reflected a reality that's been true for every single election before that that Kumanians are not communists. Not even a tenth of Kumanians are communist. Kumania is a nation where the people truly run this place. Pretty much every citizen is armed. If a revolution of any sort breaks out, it'll be quelled by regular citizens. So no I am not worried that Kumania could be the next victim of a silly communist revolution. It just won't happen unless a majority of Kumanians buy that message that this new Kevin Bluecheese is preaching. He was right that you'd have to be a part of the system to change it. And now he's heard cries from foreign lands and he's seemingly lost his wisdom. This system is pretty much indestructible. Kumania will continue to be a democratic society as long as it is the will of the people.

SB: Anything else you'd like to say regarding the PLR situation?

HD: Nope. I think I've covered my bases. PLR is once again a laughing stock since it's embroiled in a civil war again which will stay there because PLR only influences events in other countries when it really tries. And I doubt anyone in PLR is foolish enough to try to make their civil war spill into other countries.

SB: Always a pleasure to have you on our show Minister.

And that concludes our broadcast!

This is the KNN International Daily Recap with Sally Bungolos!

Hello, I'm Sally Bungolos, and here are today's top stories.

The conflict in PLR has become exponentially more violent within the past 24 to 48 hours. As seemingly the entire far eastern parts of PLR have fallen under Madani control, there have been several suicide attacks. Among these horrific attacks was an attack on an Oleiwinese refugee camp. These attacks on refugees prompted King Jimmy to finally give the following address:

"Good evening.

"For the past few days, the Peoples Liberation Republic has been plagued with yet another internal conflict. On one side, you have its nationalist Caliphate government. And on the other side you have communists rebels that are followers of a faith that has recently seen a surge of popularity. The supporters of both sides have shown to be extremely dedicated to their causes. This dedication has seen PLR swirl down into yet another struggle for regime change within the past couple years. Once again the Arab people are resorting to slaughtering each other instead of seeking a peaceful way to settle their arguments.

"My heart goes out to the victims of these wars that have plagued the Peoples Liberation Republic over the past couple years. PLR is a nation that can achieve extremely great things. I just know they have the potential. The only thing that's stopping the Arab people from achieving this glory is themselves. It is a concrete fact that prosperity cannot happen without peace. The idea that violence and war truly settles anything is extremely false. For the past couple years, we have witnesses this cycle repeat itself every few months. I share the opinion of my Minister of Defense Haley DeFronz that the Peoples Liberation Republic is in anarchy and has been in anarchy for the past couple years. The Caliphate showed promise, but now it seems like it can easily be defeated like the regimes that preceded it.

"Back in October, Kumanian forces intervened in the last major civil war that plagued the Arab people. I will not make the same mistake. This is an issue that can only be settled by the Arab people. No nation, whether it be Kumania, Latrovia, Calofas, Oleiwin,, or anyone else, can settle this problem that plagues the Arab people every single day. No one can unite the Arab people except the Arab people themselves.

"I just received word that the Madani communists attacked a refuge camp. I strongly condemn these actions. And in response, I am announcing that Kumania will accept refuges as long as they are intensely screened. I am aware of some paranoia growing within my own nation. I don't want to add fuel to that fire. But I feel certain that true refuges who just want to escape the daily violence and live in a place where there is peace and democracy and liberty will pose no threat to our great nation. With permission of the Caliphate, I would like to position my starships immediately to evacuate any and all Arab refuges who want to flee their homeland that is plagued so much by this unnecessary violence. No one should have to live through what the Arab people have gone through over the past couple years.

"Thank you."

Meanwhile in Riadistan, the Riadistani President Yuhanna Riadi stated that he is not afraid that a revolution would break out in his country. In addition, he also announced that his country would be joining the Kumanians in accepting refugees from PLR. So far, the Caliphate has not commented on the remarks made by King Jimmy or President Riadi.

And that concludes our broadcast!
