E3 is almost upon us, and Nintendo has already announced some of their plans for the event this year.

Super Smash Bros. Tournament Highlights Nintendo's E3 Approach E3 Expo 2014

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Over the last few years, Nintendo has repeatedly reinvented its approach to E3 by creating unique ways to break news and get fans at home involved in the fun, while also offering great experiences for on-site attendees. That mission continues in 2014 as Nintendo offers a series of new channels to communicate news directly to its key audiences, including fans, media, analysts, investors and business partners. This includes a new format for unveiling news: the Nintendo Digital Event; a Super Smash Bros. tournament; a full slate of live, in-depth game demos from the Nintendo booth; and an opportunity for fans to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U for the first time at their local Best Buy.

"We demonstrated last year that we are never afraid to reinvent a proven tactic or to break completely new ground if we believe it will provide the best experience for our fans, followers and partners," said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's president and chief operating officer. "So, whether you're attending E3 in person or joining online, there's an amazing lineup of games, experiences and events coming your way."

At E3 2014, Nintendo will offer four unique experiences, all under the unifying banner of "Play Nintendo."

Super Smash Bros. Invitational
2014 will see the arrival of not one, but two new Super Smash Bros. games: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. To commemorate this occasion, Nintendo is inviting 16 highly skilled Super Smash Bros. players to the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles to compete in a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament. Thousands of fans in the audience and countless more watching a live stream online will see new Super Smash Bros. characters clash with existing favorites in action for the first time. More important than declaring a winner, however, this event is a celebration of all things Super Smash Bros., and a great way for new and veteran fans to take part in a tribute to this legendary franchise. More information about the 16 invited participants in the tournament, the identity of the announcers, and how fans of the franchise can view the tournament in person and via webcast, will be communicated shortly.

Nintendo Digital Event
Every year, Nintendo looks for the best way to show its games and share its news with fans, media and other key audiences. In 2013, Nintendo decided to forgo a traditional press conference and use a video - in that case a Nintendo Direct - to share its news from E3. The company is building on that approach at E3 2014 with the "Nintendo Digital Event," a new kind of video program that will reveal and provide further detail about the gaming experiences on the way for Nintendo platforms in 2014 and beyond. The Nintendo Digital Event will air at 9 a.m. PT on Tuesday, June 10.

Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3
This year, Nintendo will offer fans a deeper look at Nintendo's biggest games of E3, with information directly from the source. The "Treehouse," the Product Development department at Nintendo of America, will provide in-depth game demos live and unscripted from Nintendo's booth. This new program will be live streamed during all hours of the E3 show. Fans can get settled in, open their browsers and experience the Nintendo games at E3 like never before.

Super Smash Bros. Smash Fest @ Best Buy
In 2013, Nintendo broke new ground by expanding its E3 activities outside of the walls of the Los Angeles Convention Center and letting fans play some of the games being played on the show floor at participating Best Buy stores. The partnership between Nintendo and Best Buy continues in 2014 and will mark the first time around the world that fans have had the opportunity to get their hands on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

More details about each event, including dates, times, locations and game content will be revealed shortly. To follow all of Nintendo's E3 activities, keep an eye on Nintendo's Facebook page, Twitter feed and YouTube channel. Or visit http://e3.nintendo.com.

We've all had weird game-related dreams before, I think I mentioned an SSB one sometime after SSB4 was revealed.

In fact, two nights ago I had a dream where Kirby was going to get his first 3D adventure game, it was open world and had a deep story that had humans in it. In fact, one boss was an airplane that Sword Kirby fought against while on a warp star.

And last night I had a dream where Kid Icarus was getting a new game, but it featured near impossible QTE's (Hold the B button while tapping the A button x7, then rotate the control stick), which I still managed to hit.

Let's see if these dreams mean anything come E3 :P

All right guys, 5 weeks left. Time for me to look for more hype.

Things I expect to see at E3:

#1. New Trailer for Sonic Boom
#2. New Trailer for Kingdom Hearts III, (Not a teaser this time.)
#3. More info on next Zelda, (Majora's Mask 3DS, Hyrule warriors, or other)
#4. Future Pokemon title. (Pokken or that detective game.)
#5. Future Mario Title. (As far as I know, Mario Kart is the last announced Mario game)
#6. New trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight
#7. More info on Disney Infinity 2.0

I had a vision where Nintendo announced 3DS friend codes will no longer exist, followed by the audience giving off a massive amount of applause.
Unfortunately, since there was an audience, it was either a future E3 or not happening.

Mega 64 shares tidbits on creating the E3 video.

Plently of stuff to read there, such as

- Initially, Reggie had a smaller role and was only going to do a couple of scenes with about an hour or so of filming. Instead, Reggie cleared his Tuesday schedule and Nintendo made sure he could do whatever Mega64 asked him to do.
- Normally, NOA doesn’t allow to anyone to film inside their headquarters, so initially they were going to use an office site a block away. Reggie gave the okay to film inside, and that’s when they were able to get the conference room scene. This is apparently the first time somebody was allowed to film inside headquarters outside the studio areas ever.

- Rocco had access to Nintendo’s backlog, and he simply listened to the Skyward Sword soundtrack, and liked it. That’s why it was playing. So, that wasn’t actually a tease of what’s coming up next.

I think it will end up being a good move for Nintendo. I'm interested to see what kind of games they will make compatible with these.

As long as they use them the right way, only use them on Wii U(read the thing, never mind *sigh*), and don't limit them to one retailer, I would be fine with it.

Not nintendo related, but I wonder if we shall see a Mighty No.9 E3 trailer. I mean ComCept is not in the exhibitors list but they could still release something online not affiliated with the Expo.

I had a dream where E3's Digital Event, as predicted, crashed. When it got back on, Reggie talked about SSB and revealed Pac-Man, but it wasn't in trailer form, just gameplay of him in the game with him talking in the background.
/lackluster dream.

..you know, it never hit me until now, but Tomodachi Life comes out slightly before E3. Nintendo must be wanting us to be too busy with it to watch the other press conferences like they did with New Leaf last year :P

#2. Nintendo Announces a Wii U mini.
#3. Drawn to Life 3 is announced.
#4. Pokemon Z announced for Wii U.

#6. Post-Fusion Metroid game
#7. A Mii Force spin off that does not use play coins.

Personally, I want to see Nintendo's E3 progress normally, and they end it with a Smash trailer.
...or so it would seem.
Then, the screen blacks out...suddenly, Wario pops up on the screen, and announces its the Year of Wario!

Followed by announcements of:
Warioware 3D!
Warioware U!
Wario Land 3D!
Wario World 2 U!
Wario & Waluigi!
Wario in Super Smash Bros 4!
Wario playable in the next Mario platformer!
Baby Wario as Mario Kart 8 dlc!
Mario Golf QR codes for Metal Wario dlc!
Dr. Wario U! (Finally featuring a story mode after being absent since Dr. Mario 64.)

..Sadly,I suppose I can only dream of the day for now.Posted Image

Had a dream last night that we got a new Excite Bots game at E3.

Hopefully with MK8 releasing soon, they will be looking into their other racing franchises, like F-Zero, Wave Race, and Excite Truck/Bots!

Nintendo is renting out a huge space for E3 this year:

That's 3 booths, which means they have the biggest amount of space at the showfloor this year.

Anytime I see Nintendo do something huge like this for E3, I recall Iwata saying "There were news articles that said Nintendo is not going to E3, which is not true."

Maybe they will use the space to have a huge bake sale to save the company. For every brownie you buy, $2.75 goes to covering the over a billion dollar loss generated these past 3 years. It's for a good cause. #SaveNintendo

Each brownie would cost $5 because it's still E3. :P

Looks like Nintendo will have 2 Q&A sessions at E3! One for Smash Bros. with Sakurai, and another for an unannounced 3DS title!

Wonder what the 3DS title could be :O .
