The Final Fantasy franchise has been around a long time now and has put out many different games. My question to you all is, what is your favorite FF game? For me I've only played a handful of the mainline FF games. 3 DS, 4 DS, and 12 to be exact. My favorite would probably be 3 DS. It was first experience with FF, and while the story and battle system is fairly simplistic I still really enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed the job system and enjoyed playing around with them all! My favorite side game is probably the Dissidia games on PSP. |

well, it was made by Square after all, and there's the FFIV boss theme in it! Lesee, my first FF was IV, and I hated it, the music pierced my ears, I didn't like how your party members were constantly being swapped and I thought the graphics were very bad for SNES, as in, I could hardly distinguish stuff like caves in the overworld, that's a gameplay problem. I thought I'd never try out another FF after that, but I decided to give a VI a try as soon as it was released on VC for whatever reason. It stands as one of my favorite RPGs all around, I love just about everything about it except for Gau. Afterwards I played IX, which I thought was overal pretty good, not perfect, but quite enjoyable none the less. I played VII much later and, while it's overhyped by the fanbase, it's still a perfectly fine game that's worth playing through once if you are interested in it. I barely touched Dissidia, and I found it quite confusing, kept getting beat by the CPU because of that. But yeah, VI is my favorite with IX following closely. I could try out VIII as a friend who shared his PSN account with me owns it, but the criticisms against it makes me not want to do it, if the combat is as different from the series as say, how different Chrono Cross is from Trigger, I'm certain I'll hate it as well. Oh, and I also tried out Tactics for the PS1, I couldn't get into it, but I might give it another shot someday if I'm bored enough. Edited by nunkirbylov3_<32007, Jan 12 2015, 09:01 PM.

Even if its cliche nowadays, my favorite final fantasy will always be FF7. Its looking a bit dated now, but by god is it still a testament to its time. I still remember reserving the game at sears, and picking it up along with the t-shirt it came with. I spent hours with it, and also i first watched my brother and his friend play through it for hours and hours before i decided to tackle the game myself. It was the first game where i actually cared about the characters themselves, it was the seminal moment for me when i realized gaming was something more then it had been before. Im sure many can get that from any other FF game too, but with all the right elements, top notch visuals (for the time) it was something to behold thats for sure. I guess it was obvious though with my original name ending in sephiroth though now i suppose. |

Theatrhythm. Actually, my only real experience with the series before that was watching my sister play all of X, playing 1 hour of Chocobo Tales and Crystal Chronicles RoF, and buying Final Fantasy off the VC in an attempt to play the series starting from the first, which obviously didn't happen. Theatrhythm does make me want to try some out the main games though...maybe when I get a new PS3 I'll get XIII just to spite everyone

I'd recommend FF 12 too Smash! It plays less like a traditional FF game and a bit more like the Xenoblade Chronicles way. |

yup, although I don't remember much from it, I just recall not being able to beat the CPU a single time as I never learned how to use skills effectively, but that's probably because I didn't put much time into it. |
