Wow did they really just snub Bravely Second? Is it even coming out of Japan? Such a shame that franchise, the first one was such a hit and Square had a great opportunity, but they've done nothing but hurt the sales of the 2nd game so much so that I think they've killed the franchise, shame.

It's being localized but they didn't bother to promote it at their E3 event.

Apparently its being shown in the tree house video stream today, so its not completely absent at least.

^ Ah I see, well I'm glad it's there at least. Nintendo promoting it more than Square though.....

TGNGirl. Wait what
The treehouse stuff ended up being pretty good, at least from what I've been seeing of it.

So with them possibly revealing the NX next year, I wonder if they'll stick to a digital event or go back to a live conference. I imagine the NX won't be launching untill holiday 2017 though, so who knows.

I feel like while it's not likely holiday 2016 is totally in the cards for NX.

I feel it can either be spring 2017 or winter 2017. Depends what it is really.

Best to start saving for it now :yoshi:

^ Yeah, 2017 I think is more likely since it would be 5 years after the Wii U, but I dunno, since the Wii U wasn't a huge success for Nintendo overall I can definitely see them killing it early to get a jump on the competition and such. But we'll see.

I also see NX as a sort of 3rd pillar, like the DS originally was, and the DS launched only 3-4 years after the GBA, so if this follows that route........
Would make sense if Zelda Wii U pulls a Twilight Princess and has another version on NX, which I can definitely see happening, but only if NX is 2016.

And btw Smash, Nintendo I don't think has launched a home console in the Spring in the longest time, so I don't think that's likely :P

Nintendo just has to be really careful how they transition overto the NX. If they do it too soon, they risk upsetting current Wii U owners who feel that they abandoned their console too early. By talking about it this soon, they may also hurt future sales of the Wii U because who is going to buy one now with a new system on the horizon?

Idk, I feel the Wii U is still pretty young and should be hitting it's stride by now, but instead the finish line is already in site for it. It's just quite sad really :( .

I hope your right in that regard CJ, its a very delicate situation for them right now. But i cant help feeling like this may be a sign of things slowing down even more for the wiiu, zelda wiiu getting delayed was very suspect especially with how confident they were earlier this year, not that games dont get delayed all the time but like most people i do get the feeling zelda wiiu will be a cross gen title. But that really all depends on if the NX has a handheld screen like the wiiu, otherwise it wouldnt be the same, unless thats the reason for the revamp or whatever caused them to hold it back.

----
Either way they should re evaluate their plans for next years e3, the nintendo world championship was fantastic and a good aspect. But as for other parts, it would do them good to find out what worked and what didnt.

It's a double edged sword really. Gather lots of interest for your new console at the sake of hurting interest in your current one, or continue to focus on and promote your current console, at the expense of your new one that may come out of no where for some. It's a difficult place, but I dunno, with how low the Wii U has been selling I can't blame Nintendo if they do end it prematurely. I don't think getting the NX out asap is a matter of getting a jump on the competition as much as it is them getting it out before the mobile market causes massive damage to the console and dedicated handheld markets that they will struggle to recover from.

Of course this implies NX will have something to do with mobile which iirc Nintendo hasn't said it will, but I feel like it will, and like that's going to be a big part of NX.

Another thing to consider is that there have been rumors of NX being the successor to both the Wii U and the 3DS and that it will be one unified system. If this is the case, then the 3DS is already approaching its 5th year, and releasing it in winter of 2016 would work really well for a 3DS successor. However, again Nintendo hasn't commented on this being the case and it's speculation. Still, you have to wonder, when Wii U was still Project Cafe we knew of the 3DS, when Wii was Revolution the DS was a thing, now we have NX, with no sign of any 3DS successor. Signs are pointing to it.........

It would suck for the Wii U if it has to end early, but I dunno. I mean, yeah it didn't last as long as other Nintendo systems, but hey, we got an awesome Smash game, Mario Kart, a 2D and 3D Mario, Splatoon, Zelda Wii U is coming, it's getting Star Fox, something the Wii never had, Xenoblade, I dunno, I think it will have a pretty fantastic library when all's said and done, regardless of when it ends. I still plan on buying one asap.
