Are you feeling constipated? Is your digestive system not as regular as it used to be? Do you often spend hours on the toilet with no success? Luckily there is a cure. Witch & Hero is the ultimate "Play on the toilet game" so you can actually look forward to spending time on the john. 7 out of 10 doctors prefer Witch&Hero to the leading AngryBirds Brand.

*WARNING: Witch&Hero is a 3DS game and does not actually treat or cure any disease or condition. Please consult a physician before playing Witch&Hero. Side effects include joy, frustration, and a great time. This game should not be played while operating heavy machinery. If you receive any injuries while playing this game, seek medical attention immediately.

Witch & Hero

Story: 4.5/10 This game is not heavy on story, but it does have an opening and ending sequence. A long time ago a witch & a hero fought Medusa. Medusa turned the witch to stone, and now the hero is after the witch for revenge.

Gameplay: 9/10 I guess you could say this is a "tower defense" game, except there is no tower. Your witch stands in the center of the screen. Monsters come out from all corners moving towards the center. You must defeat the monsters by walking into them. Your hero can die as many times as you want, but your witch must stay alive throughout each level. There are tons of power ups to buy, which boost either your strength, speed, and defense. Also you can boost the witche's magic for special moves.
What I love about this game is the feeling of constant progress. Even if you die in a level, you gain EXP and Gold. The EXP can help level you up so that you gain more HP. The Gold can buy more powerups. So if you find yourself dying over an over in a stage, it's okay, cause you are grinding towards that boost that will ultimately help you overcome it. Of course playing thru the level also teaches you strategy. So it's like this constantly rewarding system. No death is in vain.

Level design: 6/10 On art & visual the design is great. But being a tower defense game, each screen is about the same. I mean it may have a different background but it's still a square map. Therefore what gives the levels it's uniqueness is the enemies present and the strategy needed to take them down.

Characters: 2/10 Really not much to say here. The characters are 1 dimensional. Good guy Hero, Stonified Good Witch, Evil medusa. No backstory, just good & bad.

Music: 6/10 While the music is not the best ever, it is quite catchy. And it rarely gets old.

Bosses: 4/10 This game does the cliche of taking a common enemy, making them bigger, and calling it a boss. While It's lazy and uninspired, this game basic concept allows it to be tolerable. Oh the final boss is original, and a real challenge.

Abilities: 5/10 The abilities are basic, but good. Sometimes less really is more. You walk into enemies to defeat them, then collect their blood to execute a Magic attack from witch. Also enemies defeated by the hero, not the witch, raise your special attack meter. Once filled, you can unleash a powerful finisher move.

Replay Value: 10/10 This game really has a ton of replay value. I don't think I have ever stopped replaying this game. The concept is just fun. Plus beating the game unlocks Survival mode and a more difficult setting.

Overall: 10/10 Despite my average ratings, I do feel this game is awesome. It truly is the ultimate "on the toilet" game. No really I mean it. While it may not have been intentional, this game is awesome casual fun best prescribed with doses of 5 -20 minutes. Again not saying the game is perfect. Or good for a road trip. But if you are waiting in line, or on the john, or your GF is taking too long to get ready, a few rounds of this game will have you covered. I definitely recommend it.
