Well I decided to download these two mobile games because it's main character, Mr.Pixel, is a DLC character for Drancia's Mobile Version. So I guess the cross promotion ran since before the 3DS game.

Pixel Rooms (1+2)

Story:1/10 There isn't so much a story as there is an objective. In the first game, they state that Mr.Pixel is an organism created for the purpose of escaping and it will run towards any door it finds.
The second game only states that 24 Mr.Pixels need help escaping from confinement. That's all the story.

Gameplay: 8/10 Okay so it's hard to explain this. It's a puzzle game. In the first game you must help Mr.Pixel reach a door, and in the second you must open the door so Mr.Pixel can enter. So it's pretty basic stuff. Both games start you off doing simple challenges. But the it gets... weird. The 4th wall breaking is strong with this one. That's as much as I'll say without spoiling. Basically there are no rules to solving the puzzles. If your phone has a feature, USE IT! Some of the puzzles were hard. And others super cryptic. The game took me a few days to beat. Most of that time was spent on just 4 of the cryptic ones.

Level Design: 10/10 If their job was to create super cryptic puzzles then they did a great job. The games have 25 puzzles each for a total of 50. The puzzles are mindbenders. And have clever as well as original solutions. So mission accomplished.

Characters: 0/10 There was only one. No character growth. No dialougue. Just his one motivation for escaping doors.

Music: 0/10 As far as I can remember, there was no music in this game. Just sound effects.

Bosses: 1/10 Much to my surprise, there was a boss. Sort of. In the second game, you get to fight a boss at the end. It's more of a puzzle disguised as a boss. But still the effort was appreciated. It was a space shooter type boss. Mhm.... Fairune had a space shooter boss, Pixel rooms has a space shooter boss. Me thinks Skipmore likes his space shooters.

Abilities: 1/10 He can run towards the open door. Unless you count the player's abilities. Then it's up to how you use your phone. :P

Replay Value: 4/10 The game offers a speed run mode, as well as a leaderboard. So re-visiting is fine. Especially considering that the game is just a time waster. Like Fairune, once you know the answers to the puzzles the game isn't as fun.

Average Sum: 3/10

Overall Experience: 3.5/10 The game itself wasn't bad. It just wasn't amazing. It's free, has ads, and offers a good way to kill a few minutes. So I really won't complain. It was good for what it did and while it lasted.
