Trainer Profile
Character Name: Aneniel Tinuos Nickname: Ann, Annie Gender: Female Age: 16 Trainer Class: Camper/Psychic
Height: 5'4" Weight: 125lbs Hair Color & Style: Annie's hair is a fiery copper toned red-orange, and it is cut into a long mohawk, with everything else shaved down. Her eyebrows are always kept extremely well groomed, and are often thought of as expressive, because her emotions are typically readable through them. Eyes: Annie's sea-foam green eyes are often described as "little half moons" in shape., though she isn't sure what that means. Clothing/Accessories: Annie typically wears blue jeans, a light brown, blue, or white short sleeve shirt, and hiking boots, with socks of course. Other than that, she keeps a backpack with her at all times that she stores her camping gear in. During the Winter, and in colder parts of Godai, Corvin wears a hoodie that has been insulated with Mareep fur, as well as a sea-foam green beanie for her ears. Corvin's backpack is forest green in color, though it has purple straps for her arms. In the windy parts of Godai she wears a dark brown duster coat, and a light brown bandana around her mouth. General Appearance: Annie's skin is a very bright white color, even though she spends all of her time outside. This is because of her being what is regularly called a "Ginger." She has bright, fiery orange hair, and freckles of the same color covering her nose, and cheeks. She has more scars, and defining marks, than most kids her age, but that is because of her camping life style, not due to being attacked, or abused. Annie has a severe limp in her left leg due to her accident, and is often seen using crutches to get around. Despite her limp, Corvin is always moving with what can be described as a "pep" in her step.
Hometown: Tiensee Town, South Godai Personality: Annie is an extremely happy and outgoing kid. She puts a real effort into being happy, having learned the hard way that for her, optimism and a positive outlook will help things to turn out alright. Depression and futilism got her nowhere, but when Annie worked hard and fought for something she desperately wanted, she came out the other end a better, more accomplished person! And all it took for Annie to do it was the courage to take a chance on herself, and believe that things might turn out okay. Since learning that lesson, Annie has always worked hard not only to improve herself as a trainer and a person, but also to make the people and Pokemon around her feel better, too. Despite this, happiness and optimism are not defining traits of Annie's characters so much the pursuit of those things in herself and others could be. Some of the things that can, no matter what, make Annie happy are sea salt ice cream, bacon, and seeing Pokemon she has never seen before. She loves the outdoors, and refuses to sleep inside any building, even during bad weather, unless the people or Pokemon she's with need it.
Most people who deal with Annie would say that she is good at heart, believing every one deserves respect, and kindness, until they prove otherwise. Expanding on that belief, she is wholeheartedly against exploiting Pokemon. This means that she believes they should not be put on "display" in contests, or other such ways. Some are confused by the idea that she holds this belief but still battles with her Pokemon, but Annie doesn't battle for glory or recognition; rather, the act of battling is a way of making her Pokemon stronger and better, and helping to improve the bond she forms with them, too! Battling, for Annie, is a deeply personal way of empowering the relationship she has with her beloved partners. She is a firm believer in "living the way nature intended," which is why she tries to befriend her Pokemon before using a Pokeball to capture them.
Kindly and good-natured though she may be, Annie is very protective of her worldview, which attempts to assume the best in everyone and believe things will turn out alright. Annie's response to this worldview being threatened is a true display of her character. When it is threatened, such as when Pokemon are abused or Annie herself is bullied or made fun of (especially for her limp,) or even when Annie finds herself trapped in a hard situation where she can't escape, her temper flares and she begins to act up, sometimes even violently. Annie takes no pride in it, but she is exceptionally good at finding the small weaknesses in a person's emotional armor, and can exploit them to hurt people with a few rash words should her temper escape her control. On rare occasions, Annie has been known to explode with physical violence. When this happens, she usually sobers quickly thereafter, and attempts to make amends. The only thing more frightening to Annie that her worldview being threatened is being the person to threaten it. She also fears riding bikes, being in deep water, and dragon Pokemon, and doesn't deal well with the threat of losing the use of his legs again well.
Annie loves all kinds of Pokemon, though Flying types are her favorite. However, she is afraid of Dragon type Pokemon, and Pokemon resembling spiders. While she does identify as "straight," she is still young, and does not know exactly what she likes in people of either gender. Annie learns best by watching examples and trying to imitate results, which can make the process difficult because of how her lifestyle often keeps her from other people to present learning opportunities. Failing that, Annie practices persistently, and tries hard until she succeeds.
Being a Telepath scares Annie, because she is scared of losing control, and of being called a freak by those she holds close to her heart. Because losing control of her powers scares her so much, she constantly tries to "master" it when ever she is out in the world where no one can see her. The discovery of this power as lead to her taking an increased interest in Psychic, and Ghost type Pokemon, because she hopes to learn control from training with them.
History
Aneniel Tinuos was born in a small town known as Tiensee Town to two loving parents, three older sisters, and four older brothers, all of which were amazing Pokemon trainers in their own right. Growing up she was surrounded by all kinds of Pokemon, which led to her love for them at a very early age. From the time she could walk Annie was interacting with Pokemon, though only those that her family had trained.
Being the youngest of eight children Annie's parent's had always left her in the care of her eldest siblings, not because they did not love her, but because they were busy running a business. While she was never pampered, her siblings made sure that she wanted for nothing when it came to food and clothes. When Annie was with her parents it was always like she was their only child, she knew from a very early age how much her whole family loved her.
When she was old enough to go to school Annie began taking on more responsibilities around her family's house, and got up every morning at four o'clock to make sure every Pokemon was fed. She was taught how to groom every type of Pokemon, how to make the most basic of foods for them, and which types fought better against others. By the time she was old enough to become a trainer she had already mapped out the first leg of her journey, until her accident.
Annie had been doing her chores about a month before she was to get her first Pokemon, when her eldest brother's Shelgon began to evolve right in front of her. Once it had completed it's evolution the brand new Salamence went on a rampage through their yard. While she was trying to calm the angry Pokemon down, it had used it's tail to slam into Annie, and sent her smashing into a near by tree.
Having heard the commotion, Annie's family rushed down to find Annie slumped over at the base of the stump. When she woke up in the hospital she had learned that Salamence's attack had not only broken four ribs, but had also broken her spine. Annie could not believe it when the doctors told her that she very well may never have walked again, which meant that she would never have gotten to go on her journey.
This news had caused Annie to fall into a very deep depression that quickly threw the rest of her life out of whack. She had tried going to school, but dropped out after a few months, and had refused to tell her parents why. Annie pushed everyone away, her parents, her siblings, even the Pokemon that she had become friends with, she wanted nothing more than to be alone. Annie was unable to stand the looks that she believed people gave her when she was not looking, mostly because it meant that they were pitting her. Once she had dropped out of school Annie stayed in her room for most of the day, though she would often go outside once the moon had shown itself in the sky.
While Annie had been unable to manage going to school, she had asked her parents to home school her. For nigh on a year all Annie did was stay in her room and study. She had finished over two years of school in a little over a year, and her room was lined, floor to ceiling, with books of all kinds. She had not only studied her school work, but had tore through book after book looking for anything that would help her learn to walk again. While the studying kept her mind busy, it did nothing to help her depression. Every time that she had finished a book, and had not learned anything that might help get her out of her wheelchair, her depression seemed to get worse.
She would go days without eating when her books turned up nothing, but, when they did give her something new it was like looking through a window into who she was before the accident. Her eldest brother had often described her mental state as a roller-coaster ride through hell, because as soon as she had seemed to be improving, she would start screaming at everyone, and lock herself up again.
After about two years of being in a wheelchair, Annie had finally begun to make attempts at curing her depression on her own. She began to help with her family's Pokemon again, though she was absolutely terrified of any, and all Dragon type Pokemon. Her moods had been improving, but even then she had still refused to go out in public.
Annie had been depressed for a very long time, until her favorite cousin Cody, who was the youngest of her cousins, had returned from his journey. Hee had heard about her accident and had refused to give up on helping her learn to walk once more. At frist Annie tried to push him away, as she had everyone else, but she had quickly learned why he was her favorite out of all of her family members; he was exactly like her, completely stubborn. Cody would not leave Annie alone, until she finally gave up, and let him help her. When he first began to help Annie she was unable to even move her toes, but slowly that changed, and when she began to be able to move her legs again he used his Venusaur's Vine Whip technique to help support her weight. This went on for two years until she was finally able to walk on her own again.
For a long time Annie was unable to support her own weight completely, and required crutches to help her get around. The first few months had been hard for her, because she was still having to rely on everyone to help get around, but she persevered. She began going out into public again, though only in the early mornings, or late evenings, until she was sure that nobody was paying her any attention. Around the time of her sixteenth birthday Annie was finally able to walk completely on her own, though she still needed crutches from time to time.
Over joyed, Annie began planning her journey once more, and for her sixteenth birthday she was given her very first Pokemon; a Spearow that she named Galestorm. With Galestorm at her side, Annie set off towards Mt. Quemar, his first stop on her journey to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. She had been away from home only a few weeks when "it" happened, the thing that would change her life forever. She had been exploring the mountain, practicing rock climbing, when she had come across a wild Bagon. She had been terrified instantly, and fell backwards on to the ground when she tried to run away. The baby dragon Pokemon had been very curious, as she was the very first human that it had seen, and when it got closer to Annie, she screamed a gut wrenching scream that shook her down to her bones. When she screamed, she released all of her fear in a powerful telepathic shockwave that threw the poor Pokemon backwards away from her.
After realizing what had happened, Annie did the only thing she could think off, which was run back to town, and call Cody; the only person she trusted to not judge her for the freak she thought herself to be. After listening to her story over the phone, Cody had took the subway to Tiensee to meet with her, and after doing a few experiments, mainly getting her to move tiny objects around with just her Telepathy, he told her not to worry; that all she had to do was practice, and she would be able to control it. But, he had been worried about how she reacted when she saw the Bagon, and so, before he left to continue his own journey, he left Annie three of his own Pokemon. He gave her a Houndour to act as her guard dog, a Wurmple to make her smile, and a Shelmet to defend her against her own fears, as he put it.
With her cousin having just left her days prior, she has decided to once more climb Mt. Quemar, and, if possible, find the Bagon that had so terribly scared her.
