-Basics- Name of your Nation:The Drachis Combine Type of Government:Representative Democracy Political Leaders: Archon: Cik(Pro. Sick); Kig-Yar, Male K-Y Represenative: Nez; Kig-Yar, Female T'vaoan K-Y Representative: Mak; T'vaoan, Male Ibie'sh K-Y Representative: Daz; Ibie'shian, Male (keep in mind that they are universally known as Drachisians) Population: 1,000,000,000,000 Population Composition: Drachis Kig-Yar - 40% Drachis (K-Y) T'vaoan - 30% Drachis (K-y) Ibie'sh - 30% Unique Species: (A biological summary of the species native to your nation, add more as you add more species to your nation through whatever means you use.) The Drachisian Kig-Yar are made up of three different species of the same race. They posses a mixture of avian and reptile features/traits. Their legs are muscular; allowing them to be quite fast and agile, and are reverse-jointed in a similar fashion to birds. They have sharp claws on both hands and feet; three fingers (thumb, an long index finger and a pinkie). Being carnivorous, their jaws are lined with rows of razor-sharp teeth. The Drachisians have been known to eat the flesh of fallen enemies, as well as live prisoners. These beings also posses extraordinary senses of sight, hearing, and smell; this makes them excellent trackers/scouts, snipers, assassins and shock-troopers. The majority of the race would be considered as a common Drachisian Kig-Yar; males posses quills that seem to change minor colors depending on their mood, while the females of the species have calloused plating instead of quills. Skin color will range from tan or brown. Drachis T'vaoan Kig-Yar posses feathered manes in place of quills, and have a more avian appearance than their counterparts; for example they have beak looking jaws/mouths. Also to note, they have a raspy sounding voice due to their expanding voice chamber; a red area on their necks. Unlike their counter parts, the T'vaoans are the most agile out of all three, and are capable of leaping great heights, posses very excellent reflexes, and capable of running or sprinting at great speeds. Last but not least, the Drachis Ibie'shians are similar to their majority cousin, however they have a more scaled hide, and poses quills that glow at the tips. The most distinguishable feature(s) of the Ibie'sh, is that they are crocodilian/reptilian in appearance rather than avian; they look a bit bulkier as well. Another trait of theirs, would be they posses a brow-tan scale coloration like the majority cousin, but also have darker "skinned" individuals as well; these possessing a dark brown coloration, perhaps due to living in dark environments for the prey they hunted. On a side note of a sorts, the Drachisians being avian related, posses hollow bones and are physically frail; they can however move quickly to evade harm due to how light-weight they are. Lastly, the Drachis cannot speak English or other languages due mainly to their evolution and genetic makeup. Their language/speech is achieved through hissing, growling, screeching, snarling, and squawking. For procreation, the Drachis lay eggs instead of giving birth to live young, and guard their offspring with extreme vigilance. On an interesting note, when a female lays an egg, it will automatically be female; on the other hand if the male chooses to fertilize said egg, it will be a male offspring instead. Major Cultures: Bowing of the head is of respect and greeting, shaking hands with one another is a form of greeting and good bye. A simple and short wave is also a sign of greeting or acknowledgement. Sharing is permitted, though some may be paranoid about stealing thanks to very old bouts of egg stealing and the like. The Combine are a space faring and mercantile by nature; willing to trade if something looks lucrative enough to themselves. Being majority avian, have an affinity for music, as well. Half of their music industry produces lyric-less music, however if there are lyrics, their voices would sound like Daft Punk vocals. Music to the Drachis is a sign of happiness as well as entertainment for the body an soul, and seems to have a great importance culturally. Major Religions: Undecided. I am still unclear what to do with this one...Luca can you help me? Policing: The Drachis Combine Police Force is separated purely by planet, and act as a near-national guard. Police forces have access to the same hardware that the military has access to, but prefer precision weapons to nullify the chances of civilians getting hit in the crossfire. These brave men and women do their most to keep a vigilant eye on the community, and maintain careful watch of the civilian population with aerial surveillance systems in the form of drop ships and light aircraft. Each police force attend friendly competitive exercises every two years. The origins of the Police force date back to when the Drachisians were separated purely by clans;each possessed internal militias to serve and protect points of interest and against any aggression from rival clans. During the Unification-war era, these militia men served as watchmen and to fill in the chinks of the armor when the need arised. Come post-war, the clan militia groups were combined/integrated into a full-time Police Force, and improved to what exists today. As for crime, this is punishable by a community service that is enacted for 4 weeks or imprisonment depending on the magnitude of the crime(s) committed. However as mentioned before, imprisonment may not be as fun as one would think. In a state of high emergency, and the police force is unable to find a solution to the problem with their current man power, gear load-outs and the like, the military may be called in to lend a hand with "heavier gear" and work hand-in-hand with the P.F. . Justice: The combine justice system a fairly simple one at that; it is comprised of the individual planetary governor, chief of police, and the people themselves. Essentially these three "parties" come together, and draw "lots" or take tallies on how something should be done. Once a majority vote has been detected, they then act upon what the vote entails. Each planet has its own set of laws, while following the universal laws the Combine entail. -Economy- Focus: Mainly focusing on pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and new practices, the Drachis Combine value keeping somewhat healthy and long lasting lives; researching new ways to abolish sicknesses and life-damaging diseases. Part of their medical progress is thanks to their Unification War, forcing the Drachisians to come up with new ways to patch up soldiers and civilians alike that had been in war zones, and having to fix what had been damaged or destroyed in the post war era. Military goods are combined with energy consumption , mainly due to their energy source of choice; plasma is used in the vast majority of civilian sectors, and military hardware instead of using cold fusion or nuclear power. At the war's end, and the Kig-Yar had united under one roof, the Combine also began to focus on simple lives utilizing consumerism and making their lives somewhat enjoyable and happy. Major exports: Medical supplies/pharmaceutical assistance and disaster relief, privateer work, Electric and Techno music. As for food items, they specialize in beverages (ex. such as 'shakes) , and hearty/healthy meals. Major imports: Being native to warm, hot and somewhat volcanic and barren worlds suitable mainly for avians and reptiles, there is a lack of enough water for everyone without the intervention of foreign aid. This lack of sufficient water forces them to rely on in-door grown vegetables and flora that cannot survive without love and care. Currency: Wags (pro. Vags) Official Language(s): Unintelligible *Translator Required* Trade Procedure: Wags and bartering (ex. Salvage, Gold Bars, or other minerals can be traded for money and etc.) Misc Information: N/A (for now) -Society- Social Leanings: The denizens of the Drachis Combine are currently happy with how things are ran thus far, but do constantly look for new ways to make their life styles better and more comfortable. Economic Leanings: Governmental control is minimum, although they do happen to keep an eye on things to a degree. The Economy is mainly handled by the people, allowing them freedom of choice; the Drachis are mercantile by nature, and do what they think is right to maintain a comfortable economic flow. However, there is an influx of Black Market intervention to boost the economy in certain aspects ( for example the Police Forces can purchase "unauthorized" weapons and equipment out of pocket thanks to the Black Market and so forth). Democratic Leanings: Drachians have a trustworthy government, they believe that their legislature will do what is necessary without going to the extreme. Wealth Disparity: The Drachis Combine 'wealth despairity' is divided up by the working class being paid the most money, followed by the middle class being paid evenly, while the rich minority pay the most taxes out of all three "classes". Desired Effectiveness of Government: Citizens don't worry too much where their tax payer money goes, having been successful years back in a war with a now extinct race, how their health care and other "community programs" are working out. Naturally, one would like to still hold onto whatever money they can to be happy. Activism/Engagement: There are minor protests within the Combine, most of the time about how much the Military Police crackdown on the community at times, how there is little "leeway" to partake in one's own vices, as well as against naval/military expansion. So far the government has agreed to slow down upon the militarism; unless of course crisis rears it head around. Usually if and when a protest gets out of hand or violent (though violent protests are rare), the police will engage in disbanding however many protesters there are through nonlethal force by means of stunning and subduing rowdy citizens. Multicultural: The Drachis Combine have been a reclusive bunch for sometime after a few years ago, though they have continued small ventures of exploration. they are slow to accept other cultures; secretly judging and observing if any of it conflicts with their own culture and beliefs. Combine denizens will be a mix of intolerance and tolerance towards others not of their own species. In order for non Drachisians to set foot on their soil, a Visa passport is needed for identification, and a permit is required for accessing settlements and the like. Corporate Law dictates that you are required to be a Drachis Combine citizen in order to work anywhere within Combine jurisdiction for money. Religiousness: Undecided. Mass Media Addiction: Media addiction is currently in a mild status; it is utilized in entertainment and social media. IT is also used for learning purposes such as educational television and the like. General Public Health: General health is very excellent thanks to strives in the medical field, illnesses and certain diseases are capable of being erased and halted from hurting anyone, and is taken very seriously. Through use of energy, and organ birthing citizens don't have much to fear if something in their bodies starts to act a little funky. IF someone were lose a limb for whatever reason, prosthetics can be utilized, and use of skin grafting over said limbs is optional. Unrest: See Activism/Engagement at this time. -Military- National Service: The Drachis combine military is a volunteer military force, not forcing service upon anyone unwillingly. Operating in a form of caste system, the Combine military recruit people based on a series of tests both digitally; the Drachis do not utilize paper, physical prowess, mental capabilities as well as educational history. Once a recruit has been evaluated, the rank/position they receive will be the start of their career from then on; if one has high enough education, the higher their rank shall be; the DCPF (Drachis Combine Police Force) operate in a similar way with recruitment processing at this time. Each of the three species combined what they had into one military structure, however their uniforms/armor systems might look hodge-podge at first glance. In order to move through the ranks, an individual must display acts of valor or excellent recognition/prowess in some form or fashion. Service length for raw recruits is up to five years, unless requested longer willingly by the individual themselves. Personnel are allowed to leave if they are unable to stomach being in the service, or if they are injured too much to continue judged either by the individual themselves, or superior. *Fun Fact*- Majority of the military personnel are males. Ranking Example: Kig-Yar Minor-are the first rank of the Drachis Military, and are equivalent of a Private, Private First Class, and Corporal. These males and females serve the Combine as the lowly grunt, being the most numerous of all the rank, and are capable of many duties; from serving as troopers, engineers, vehicle crewmen (Pilots, and gunners). Minors are typically armed with T-25 Directed Energy Pistols, and occasionally T-33 Guided Munition Launchers. As standard issue, all Minors are equipped with near skin-tight body-glove uniforms with armor attached over it; they do not wear helmet protection. Lacking armor along their arms, it may seem as a short coming, however it allows more mobility freedom. For advanced protection, Minors are equipped with plasma point defense gauntlets; these devices are capable of deflecting projectiles (such as ballistic weapons) with no affect on the shield's operation; they are capable of protecting the user from explosions up to a point, especially if well tossed or placed. Able to take energy weapon fire up to a point, extended periods of enemy energy weapons may cause the shield to eventually burn out and require recharge time. Quality and Quantity: The Drachis Combine value the lives of their soldiers, and are capable of supplying their fighting forces thanks to corporations backing them up making their gear. While their gear may seem some what light and have the appearance of being cheap, it's built to last. Their gear has this appearance to work with their builds, and allows Drachis personnel to utilize their speed and agility while being protected by their on-hand gear. With this said, the Combine are capable of using large numbers of soldiers in a conflict but only when necessary, preferring survival over suicide; not to mention wishing to keep tax payer "dollars" where they should go the most. Orbital Bombardment Capability: Possessing mainly plasma and energy based weapons, the Combine are quite capable of utilizing orbital bombardment. This however is utilized under extreme circumstances (e.g. too many casualties sustained, enemy threat level is too great, cleansing and so on). Drachis forces will use methodical bombardment, "cleaning" a planet or where ever the threat is located of all life that may be in the area, ensuring that the enemy is utterly and hopefully neutralized. -Technology- FTL: Drachis Faster Than Light capabilities are achieved through the use of Plasma Repuslor engine technology. As such, their reactors are powered by an exorbitant amount of plasma, which is contained within magnetic shielding and the like to keep it regulated and at safe levels of operation. Due to having a large amount of plasma in the reactors of their ships, allows their space craft to move at "remarkable" speeds for their different sizes(not counting their fighters and dropships; they operate on smaller reactors/engines). Unfortunately, due to the amount of energy output the reactors create, this makes their engines and radar signatures light up like a Christmas tree (e.g. You'll be able to detect them quickly, unless you're not paying attention). As such, Drachis ship weapon systems also derive most of their power from this reactor, allowing for high damage outputs without any danger to themselves or their own shield technology; ships that have Plasma Torpedoes also use their reactor's energy to literally create the "projectile", and as such cannot run out of ammunition. For dropships, fighters as well as ground craft, their reactors power the entire vehicle but at a cost: If they are to use an engine boost or something of similar operation, their weapon systems will have to be shutdown in this phase, and only able to be re activated when at a normal "cruising speed" (e.g. a T-26 Ground Support Craft using its boost to get somewhere quickly, or a T-26 Assault Gun Carriage or T-32 Rapid Assault Vehicle uses its own engine boost to move quickly or get out of the way of something). In need of getting somewhere "half a galaxy away"? The Drachis Combine's answer to that is through the use of a Slipspace drive. A Slipspace drive is the sister of the reactor of their space craft capable of this operation. This allows space craft to essentially "poke" a hole or rupture in the void of space to move through another dimension to reach a distant destination. Picture a soldier with a sniper rifle, and firing the bullet; the rifle is the SS drive, the space craft is the bullet and the target is the ship's destination it forces its self into/through; traveling too quick for the naked eye to track, only for it to force its way out of the slipspace jump at the intended coordinates. Thanks to the energy output of the Combine's Plasma Repulsor reactors, they are capable of reaching destinations fairly quickly. Unfortunately due to their high speed capability while in slipspace, upon exiting slipspace, their crafts have a knack for needing "slow-down" time, and thus become a hazard to anything or anyone that might be on the other side when they enter "subspace". On another note, these repulsor engines as well as other dampeners on the ship, allow their vessels to enter a planet's atmosphere and operate normally as if they were in space. However due to their different sizes, there will be air distortions, radiation every so often and so forth. Drachis craft are capable of making slipspace jumps while in a planet's atmosphere, however its not without repercussions; slipspace is a tricky business, and it will cause anomalies and dangerous distortions in the air. For example: If a capital ship were next to a city and decided to make a jump, there is a high chance that the slipspace rupture will cause a large amount of pressure so great, the shock wave would sweep the area in a 360 degree angle around the rupture. This large shock wave/air pressure would act similar to the shock wave of a nuclear weapon's own shock wave, but mixed with energy, making it very dangerous to attempt, and isn't done lightly.
