Has anyone here had one before? I had the opportunity to get one back in May, and it was surprisingly accurate. It was my first reading from a professional reader. There were some things mentioned that very on point with my situation at the time, and since then a few of the other things mentioned happened. I think I'm going to book another one for my birthday for the upcoming year. I think they're pretty interesting, and have started looking into them, since I am a regular tea drinker. |

I've never had one of those before. Honestly, I've never even had a professional tarot reading done before. Seems interesting to say the least. Have you found any good books on it?

Oh, that sounds so neat! I've heard of it before of course, who hasn't (especially if you've seen or read Harry Potter), but if you go again you should get some pictures and share! I'd really love to see how it's done. Maybe a video? |

What I understand from some reading up on tea leaf readings is that it all comes down to the placement of the leaves in your cup, and the symbols that show. And I guess since you're usually pensive when you're having a good cup of tea they're fairly accurate. There's really nothing to film with them.

So, I looked up how to do a tea leaf reading, and tried one out on myself. You definitely need to be creative for them. I got my how to from here, and then just googled symbolism, and used what I thought things meant. When I wrote it all out so I could interpret it, I used a chart to jot notes quickly. Then from there I broke it down.
The chart starts at the handle of my cup, held at 9:00 and read clock wise, until it reached 9:00 again. If there were multiple symbols in a zone, they're stacked in the chart. My breakdown looked like: First Symbol (dominant characteristic): Sunflower -->happiness, faith and beliefs, positives, always seeking the light, good luck, healing, confidence Rim (present) Fluffy Clouds, Birds Flying Away, Sun --> happiness and optimism, good news coming soon Middle (near future): tall tree growing behind fence, person praying, man walking away w/ child --> self imposed limitations on family, spirituality, some causing worries is leaving, Bottom (outcome): sunflower, drop of tea, log --> happiness, faith and beliefs, positives, always seeking the light, good luck, healing, confidence, change, relaxation. since the tea drop was by the log, i decided to interpret it as a river in which a log had fallen beside I think next time I try a tea leaf reading, I will take a picture of my cup, and let everyone have a stab at what they see and see what kind of meanings you all get. eta: I forgot to add how I took it. Overall, things are positive. Try to figure out where you stand spiritually. Right now, things are happy and there's some good news on the way. You're creating self-imposed blocks in your life. Especially in regard to family matters. Think about why. Someone may cause some worries in your life, but they're minor and not sticking around. Things are moving along, just find time and a place to relax and wind down. Edited by irishbreakfasttea, Oct 29 2014, 07:55 PM.

This is probably a dumb question but in order to get the leaves in the bottom of your cup, do you just use loose leaf tea without a diffuser or anything like that? I usually drink bagged tea, and while there are always a few dregs left at the bottom, it's never enough to amount to anything and I always end up drinking them by mistake! I wonder if it would brew the same way if I just cut the bag open...

You just use loose leaf without an infuser, or you can use an infuser and once your tea is steeped, you scoop out a teaspoon of leaves and put them in your cup while you drink it. Using bagged tea wouldn't work at all, since the tea is just like dust.
