I remember the days when if you wanted a nightlife you had to live in one of the big cities here, places like Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin were the places that had the night clubs and a range of other things to do.. Smaller cities like here only had the hotels or the theatres, so it was get drunk or see a film.. If not that, then it was a party and barbecue at a friends place on either a friday or saturday night.. Nowadays we have a bit of a range of things to do, going out to see the latest film is still a popular thing, but now there seems to be a range of organised events to go to as well.. Various clubs have sprung up over the years and they'll organise social events if people don't want things like restaurants or the local hotel for a night of drinking.. Auckland is now known for SkyCity and it's casinos, there's also clubs and bars to go to everywhere.. Restaurants have become popular, so we now have a wide range of different types of meals we can go out for ranging from Italian to Asian.. We have a really good Thai restaurant not far from me, they have a good range on the menu, and we can have a few drinks there too so going there is quite relaxed and a pleasant way of spending 3 or 4 hours out with friends of family.. |

It's the same here really, if you live in Auckland there's loads to do as they have casinos, the movies, live theatre the lot.. Most towns and cities see people going to restaurants and stuff just like there.. |
