"Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie." |

Danke. I've watched it many times with my daughter. Good films and brilliantly made. |

I read the books several times, had the whole set from the hobbit through.. When I watched the films I thought the first missed a lot from the book, the second film was better in that a lot less was missed out, the last film was very well done and had all of the detail from the book.. In saying that, while the first film missed bits from the book, it was still sort of easy to follow the storyline and not feel like big chunks were missing.. One thing I remember is that while I've been everywhere that the filming was done, none of the scenery looked like it was here, I should've recognised a lot of it seeing as I've been everywhere several times over the years.. In saying that, maybe some filming was done well off the main highways and such, so not really gone to by most kiwis... |

I have tried to read the hobbit and found it very heavy going. I might try again. Haven't read the LOTR's books yet, but my daughter has. I thought the scenery in the film was amazing. Very mountainous country is NZ. |

If you do read the books, try reading the hobbit last, I found it easier reading that way, in fact, I quite enjoyed it... |

Worked for me anyway, maybe it was a case of filling in the blanks after I'd read the others, I know I had a bit of a job putting the book down, I usually fell asleep instead, lol... |

The books are a must IMHO, especially for the first 2 films as there's quite a bit missing in the first 2 films... |

There's a lot missing in the first 2 films, I'd read the books a few times so noticed how much wasn't in the films, the third film was good though.. A lot of people liked the films despite not reading the books though.. |

The books go into a lot more details then the movie does IMO. You don't realize it till you see the movies. |

The first movie missed a lot, but the second and third were close to what was in the books.. |
