Various catering companies were taken on to feed the cast and crew of the films, which looking back would've been a mammoth task, just feeding the cast 3 meals a day would've been a fairly big job given how many were in the films, but for every cast member there was at least 5 more people behind the scenes that needed feeding as well, all the makeup and dressing staff as well as all the filming and sound crew, then any staff from Weta Workshops that were on location..

When I get a moment I'll check out the number of behind the scenes staff, and where they were all from and such and let everyone know..

It sounds like they had a lot to feed. Do you know what types of food they fed them?

The same things they had at home, the caterers just had to make a lot more.. I believe they had a few NZ meals though, and a lot of seafood..
