You may have heard our Prime Minister has a bee in his bonnet about changing our flag, and has had for about a year now, for some reason he thinks it's time we had a change of flag even though in excess of 80% of the country don't want it, and think our flag should stay as is..

He's (the Prime Minister) set up a panel of some !2 people, all getting paid about $650 a day each to look into possible changes, and what they think would be the best flag.. He wants a new flag, maybe rather than the taxpayers pay for the panel, it should be taken from his salary seeing as in excess of 80% of the country want the flag left as is, I suspect if he paid he'd lose interest in it..

We've had our flag since the country was colonised and the treaty signed in the early 1840's, so everyone recognises it, and associates it with us and the country, so why it should be changed now, lordy only knows..

I think the only changes to happen to the US flag since it's inception is to have extra stars added as new states were added to the country, I wonder as to how many folk in the US would make a fuss if the government decided to change the flag in some major way?.. I imagine most US citizens would associate themselves to the flag and the history behind it.. It's the same with our flag, admittedly our history isn't as long as the US history, but It's no less significant in that it's been around for all the historic changes etc here..

I know I'd like to see the matter dropped and the flag left as is, most of us would like to think it's never changed, at least in our life times, better still leave it as is.. It's been good enough for in excess of 175 years now, so whyu change after all this time?...

The mad baker in da house.

In my opinion the whole things a waste of money, the majority of people want things left as is, so why waste loads of taxpayer money on it? That money could be better used being put into health or education. As things stand our Prime Minister has already spent around 3 million on this, that money could've been better used for special needs children in schools or a few urgent operations in the many hospitals.
