Yup. And I live a block away from the pool and walk by it every day after work. Hmph.

I'm a secretary in my dad's office. Not very exciting. :P

He has a construction company (mainly does home repairs, restorations, additions) and he also dabbles in real estate.

Quite the worker! :P I don't think I'd like a secretarial job, because I don't like scheduling things. Plus, my penmanship is awful (all of my teachers complain about it  ) so I don't think I'd be interested in anything like that.

I've got a minor headache this morning. :(

Going to get my first paycheck from Burger King this afternoon (hopefully, not sure if I have one this time or not since I just started last week, but I think I'll get a small one).

Leon: Oh, believe me, I hate it. Working for my dad is a pain (he isn't the best boss), my paycheck is officially a week late, and some pretty gross people just walk in to ask about an apartment for rent. Can't wait to find something better.

Very nice, Geoffrey. :]

Hmph.

I'm hoping that the gym I go to will start hiring again soon (they don't hire in June and July apparently because that's the time of year when people tend to cancel their gym memberships) and I can work there instead. I know virtually all of the employees and I spend so much time there already that it would be ideal.

That sounds nice. I know the gym in my town doesn't have very many employees, simply because we're a very small town.

What would you be doing at the gym?

Neither does our gym. Personal trainers often work the front desk when they aren't working with clients.

I would probably be alternating between working the front desk and wiping down machines and equipment, Geoffrey. Very easy, casual work. :]

I wouldn't like work like that. xD

I was actually looking for a job. Last year, we didn't have so bad a drought, so I began mowing my grandma's lawn weekly. This year, though, it is pretty dead, which means I haven't been making any money. I got my soccer ref license, so that was bringing in a good bit of money, but obviously there's no soccer going on in the summer. I was looking into the local bookstore, but according to their main branch in Illinois, there is no bookstore in Ohio... Even though there is.. :glare: I may just go in the store and get an application.

I don't love all of the interactions I have with people as a secretary. I get yelled at a lot because my dad isn't available for an appointment, or the apartment isn't what they're looking for, blah blah blah. Working at the gym would be so much nicer. When I'd interact with people, it would be me wishing them a good workout, making them feel welcome and good about making themselves healthier. When wiping down the equipment, I can listen to music and enjoy some solitude, practically like a break. It seems ideal for me for now.

You should do that though, Leon. You're more likely to be hired if you apply in person anyway.
