Braces

It used to be, maybe ten or so years ago, that getting braces was very uncommon. Now, however, everyone has braces. Do you think the orthodontists and dentists who recommend them are just trying to get more money out of you? Are people's teeth really worse than before?

I had braces through middle school, well most of it, and hated them. I was so glad I got them before starting high school too. haha.

Yeah, I was the same way. I got them beginning of 7th grade, and they were gone by the end of 8th. I wear my retainer daily like I'm supposed to, but most people at my school who've had braces never do. :glare:

Had them at the beginning of high-school. Started with the big metal stuff, then got clear ones for my last year (out of 3 and a half). Not bad. I mean, it was unpleasant, but not terrible.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

Honestly, I'm the one who insisted on getting braces when I had them, it wasn't my dentist's idea. My teeth were crooked, but braces weren't necessary. So if it is the dentists pushing braces, mine didn't get the memo. :)

I had braces, though I got mine on the NHS so didn't have to pay anything towards them - not a great experience tbh, but I'm glad I had them done.
