Do you like it when books go from just being a standalone into a series, or from a trilogy into a huge series? |

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

I'm not really sure how to vote in this one because it is always a case-by-case basis. Some books should be left as-is, but when an author does a great job of expanding, of course I'm glad to read more. |

I agree with Stacha, so I voted it doesn't matter. Really it does, but as she said, it's case by case. Some books do well as a part of a series, others should be left as single book. Just depends on the book and how the author does it. |

Certain stories and genres beg for expansion. But, the way I see it is if the book was good enough to be a standalone, the author shouldn't be capable of expanding it. A self-contained story of quality doesn't need any extras or tacked-on sub-plots. |
