I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

I'm more of a deist. I identify with the Christian religion, but I hold very little stock in the Bible and don't identify with any specific denomination.

That's interesting. I've always wondered... What exactly do deists believe? I mean, I know you said you hold very little stock in the Bible, but overall, what do deists believe?

Deists view God as more of a clockmaker. He designs, but does not necessarily interfere as much as other religions think Him to. He sets things into motion, and from there free will and nature take over.

That's an interesting way of looking at it, I supposed. So is deism related to Christianity, then? I've heard of it occasionally in reference to the first few politicians in America, and always wondered about it.

Yes, though I imagine deism could be applied to any religion. I've just latched on to Christianity personally. Many of the U.S.' founding fathers were proclaimed deists.

I would consider myself an Atheist. I don't believe in a God, but do appreciate the fact that others do.
