Something easy to write while I suffer from not finishing other projects. >_<

The Blog of Robin Carver
November 25, 2007
Hi there. First time I’ve ever blogged, thought I’d try it out. I’ve never been much of a journal-keeper, so I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this up. But we’ll see.

So, my non-existent reader, I guess I’ll start with a little about myself.
My name is Robin Carver; I’m 19 years old and I attend Jaclyn Tech as an English major with a minor in German. I live on campus, in rattiest room in the rattiest dorm. Not to mention the coldest. – Apparently they won’t turn on the heat till after the first hard freeze. Go figure.

It’s been interesting living on my own… starving and freezing while my roommate, Bridget, waltzes in-and-out, more-than tipsy. Usually she’s out, which allows me to let go the false pretense of politeness and mumble under my breath and roll my eyes. Good Lord, I’m pathetic.

My fingers are about to fall off now. I think they're blue... I’m going to go marinate in my pathetic-ness and huddle for warmth in the corner of my room now. Bye.

I'll try to remember to log on...
-Robin.

Applaud! I remembered! (Not that anybody reads. Ha.)

Well, I guess I remembered because I have nowhere to be now. Wednesdays are my days off and I got off work about an hour ago. So that left me sitting in my dorm, on the cold floor (Thank god the old wives tale of sitting on something cold will give you colon cancer is false! I’d probably be on my deathbed about now) with nothing to do. And I thought ‘well, I have nothing to do. Might as well.’ And now I’m here… typing.

Erm, work was normal. (FYI: I work at Books & Music) My friend (I guess), Alex, was late to work and I punched his card in for him. It’s been something of a precedent ever since he asked if I’d do him a favor one day. The day after, I punched his card again because he was genuinely late and felt sort of bad for him. His girlfriend had been caught with a member on the lacrosse team and everybody knew about it. One time, I actually grabbed his card by mistake… And after that it just became habit to punch his and mine.

But we hardly talk and only share two of our main classes together. It’s not enough to start a conversation about. And besides, I’m in the backroom and he’s at the register – we hardly see each other.

Anyway, the backroom. It’s slightly warmer then my dorm and dark, a nice place to think, actually. I’m the only stocker on Wednesdays so I got to keep pretty much to myself; there’s nobody asking where are the so-and-so disks or the copies of X.Y. Whoever’s Whatever. My job’s pretty easy, pay’s good too for a store in a collage town. I mean, I can’t eat out every weekend but I can go out a buy a little more than just ramen, you know?

Speaking of which, I probably need to get myself down to the store… I think I ran out of chicken ramen yesterday. Hmm.

Blog later... maybe,
-Robin.

A few things. Drama in my own life, a book I once read called Letters from the Inside in the 9th grade, and the webshow Quarterlife. :)

Thanks. It's nice to be able to write when all your other projects have kinda fallen through. :dead:

What I like about it is that it's simple. And I don't really have a plot for it and I don't really care. It's one of those spur of the moment things and it's so incredibly easy to write, for some reason. I usually suck at impromptu stuff. :!
